@daamits Dude, they decided to renew Fringe six days after it had it's lowest ratings ever. I'm sure they were aware that ratings had dropped and they still renewed it. Why would they suddenly back out now? They're aware of time-shifted viewing and that a lot of their viewers went that route and are still watching. Plus I can't find anything to corroborate your bullshit.
The news that they moved Fringe to the death slot made me want to get into the show. I still remember when the X-Files had that slot! This promo...mad props, FOX.
Here back in Canada I don't know if our viewings count, but I ask my friends to watch it. If they don't like science fiction I say: "Fridays if you are at home just turn on one TV and set it on FOX at 9 PM and put it on mute.... Don't ask me why, please just do it. Please." I hope I don't do that for nothing.
I was in tears when I heard they moved it to Friday nights! I kept thinking, "Why is Fox putting Fringe out to pasture?" It's like your parents telling you that your dog Skip now lives with a nice family on a farm in the middle of no where. Love the show! Love this ad! Come on Fox, bring this back (RENEW, RENEW, RENEW!)
So much love for this promo:-) I hope the effort and money that FOX is putting into advertising Fringe bodes well for its renewal - I would be very sad to see this show come to an end - it is by far the best sci-fi show on TV at the moment.
I watched every episode of Fringe, wish I can help along with the ratings in the United States since I live in Canada. But man there is no other show out there that even comes close to this remarkable show, I love it so much and I'd litterally cry if it was ever gone from me. Walter, Peter, Olivia.... I love them so much with their wonderful acting, all of the cast has huge talent!!!

This promo worked! After seeing it I had to give the show a try, a little over two weeks later I've watched the first two seasons and I can't wait for January 21st and new episodes. This show is amazing!

@dg314 I notice you said you are caught up on seasons 1 and 2...however, not season 3. Season 3 blows seasons 1 and 2 (combined) out of the water. It's amazing! Before January 21, I recommend watching the first 10 episodes of season 3, you won't regret it. You can find them online! Check sidereel (dot) com or Hulu, but I think only the last 5 episodes are on Hulu, but Sidereel definitely has them!

I'm a brazilian fan of Fringe and I can honestly say that this show has a great fanbase here too. Unfortunatelly we can't help with the ratings, but we are willing to do anything else to support the #saveFringe movement. This is one of the greatest sci-fi shows ever made. I don't get it, they still put it on the slot where other shows (that were equally cool) died. They're basically saying "yes, it's going to the friday death slot, but look at these shiny explosions!". Firefly had much better explosions, and it didn't make it, so I'm not sure what they're trying to say with this.
@pete275 This is the first time since The X Files where FOX knows the show has a large fanbase, along with great critical acclaim. Also, it has more seasons than any other show that was already in a lot of trouble/was going to likely be cancelled. Yes, they didn't give Firefly much of a chance but Fringe is far better than TSCC and Dollhouse. And it's going to make it because the fans will follow and it has way less competition now that it's not airing on Thursday anymore. It's a good thing.

@pete275 I said I agreed with you on the Firefly issue and we can all agree that it was out of line for FOX to cancel it so early on after they screwed up the episode order and all that. But now is where we can all rally the support so Fringe doesn't end up the same. The message this video is giving is that this is the first show in a long time where they are actually backing it and trying to quell anyone's fears about the notion that it MIGHT be cancelled. They love it and want it to make it.
@fede018 it's midway through the 3rd season now. 20 episodes the 1st season and 23 in the second.
It's a really good show. Amazingly well written. Watch it from the beginning, it starts off slow but stick with it because it gets better and better and it makes a lot more sense if you've watched it all :)
I think this is good. The only way Fringe is going to keep this up is by increasing the level of its awesomeness in each episode (which is already very very high, I might die after every each) and therefore increasing the number of fans/viewers. Expectations are higher because of this promo. If they backslide even just a bit, I'll jump out immediately and move on. The show will be good as dead. Fox is really pushing it. It'd better be worth it. :D
what will be extra sad is when they actually cancel it after making a promo like this because this promo wont change a thing, It's still on for fridays and it will kill the show.

@elizze6 Pretty much any show put in the Friday night slots on any network has been cancelled. This is FOX's way of saying "Don't get ahead of yourselves, guys. Be optimistic, watch and let everyone you know about it and it won't have to be!" They want the show to survive so it's just saying watch it, it's worth it. For people going out on Fridays? Sure, go have that thing called I life that I don't posses. But go out after Fringe has aired. You will thank yourself.

X-Files was good... but Fringe is better (IMHO). It has a stellar cast who have impressive acting talent. The stories are compelling. The large story arcs are captivating. We lost a number of other sci-fi based series recently... hopefully those watchers have gravitated to Fringe. There is such great artistry to this series. I really hope it does live, and re-animate the Friday night TV spot. :-)
@informant007 I agree. I grew up watching X-files, but Fringe blows it out of the water. There were plenty of X-Files episodes that were lackluster, but I can not name one episode of Fringe I haven't liked. Instead of Mulder dealing w/ his sister's abduction, we have Walter that brought an alternate version of his son from another universe out of love, to save his life, only to have an all-out war come from the other universe. The show is beautiful on a human level. All other TV lacks this.
Great..i liked Invasion and that was cancelled, i liked Jericho and that was cancelled and the Terminator chronicles were cancelled so i hope Fringe lasts as long as the X-Files did.
@jwka2001 Wow, like we Fringe fans have never been flamed by a Phile before. I happen to love XF. I even own the boxset. But you can't just make claims like this because you've obviously never even watched Fringe. If you did, you'd know the only similarities are that it airs on FOX and deals with matters of science. Fringe deals with issues at the fringes of actual science, not myths and urban legends. Also, we do not have aliens, but rather alternate universes. Think before you flame again.
As much as i love fringe, friday night is the one night i (and most people) have to myself. I wanna go out. Do stuff. Im sorry but i'll have to catch the show online. On Hulu.

haha its funny cause people actually are freaking out about the friday movement, and it's a good thing fox is not trying to pretend like everything's all nice and hapy and then randomely cancel fringe but is actually acknowledging that they've placed it in the 'death slot' and are trying to boost ppls confidence.
And after a trailer like that one, FOX would look really stupid if they cancel Fringe in may ^^. So it means they trust the show, and they should because if most of the people who DVRd the show on thurdays watch it live on fridays + newcomers who didn't try it yet simply because they watched another show for instance + most of the people who watched it live on thursdays (I think at least 80% of the audience of Fringe is loyal, in such a competitive night you have to love a show to watch it).
Whoa, I'm impressed by that incredibly well-edited promo which delivers an awesome message to all the observers (the press, not the men with bowl hats) who predicted a painful cancellation of Fringe at the end of season 3.
That is the best way to show them they're dead wrong and show us you support the show, FOX, and that is such a great news, because Fringe is easily the best drama on any US network right now. I love it and it's been a long while since I didn't like an episode.
I wonder if Fox done this with the other shows that were placed on Fridays LOL.
(I don't mean any disrespect to Firefly, Dollhouse, Sarah Connor. I just find it weird to see a promo that actually states what the fanbase is complaining about.

1) this is not a promo- it's an internet video. Watch TV for promos.
2) who the heck are those quotes from? LA TIMES? TV GUIDE? Nope- some people on a blog who made a comment. Nice.
3) They used the voice of Leonard Nemoy who is no longer on the show. Way to dig back to the one famous person who was ever on the show.

2) Yes, it's quotes from actual passionate fans, not a tv reviewer that watches one random episode.
3) They used essential quotes. Bell's is 4 words, I doubt that will make people assume we're "digging" back on Nimoy.
4) Yes. At the end when Peter is on the ground and the Observer says "It has begun. I have set everything in motion"
5) No they won't because they were commissioned to make it as such.

I think this is good. The only way Fringe is going to keep this up is by increasing the level of its awesomeness in each episode (which is already very very high, I might die after every each) and therefore increasing the number of fans/viewers. Expectations are higher because of this promo. If they backslide even just a bit, I'll jump out immediately and move on. The show will be good as dead. Fox is really pushing it. It'd better be worth it. :D

Yeah, that's not gonna happen. We don't have to let it happen, so it's your prerogative to be pessimistic but trust me you're in a minority if you think Fringe is gonna get cancelled now.

@elizze6 Pretty much any show put in the Friday night slots on any network has been cancelled. This is FOX's way of saying "Don't get ahead of yourselves, guys. Be optimistic, watch and let everyone you know about it and it won't have to be!" They want the show to survive so it's just saying watch it, it's worth it. For people going out on Fridays? Sure, go have that thing called I life that I don't posses. But go out after Fringe has aired. You will thank yourself.

@yoghurtLady We at fringenetwork [dot] com are planning on an idea where you'll mail in a white tulip letter or postcard (the image will be given) to the studio (we're researching the best place to send them) in which you can also write an optimistic praise for them or talk about how much you love the show...but we're still working out the kinks. Look for updates soon on the site for more details. This is how the international fans can show their input since they cannt add to live US ratings. :)

X-Files was good... but Fringe is better (IMHO). It has a stellar cast who have impressive acting talent. The stories are compelling. The large story arcs are captivating. We lost a number of other sci-fi based series recently... hopefully those watchers have gravitated to Fringe. There is such great artistry to this series. I really hope it does live, and re-animate the Friday night TV spot. :-)

@informant007 I agree. I grew up watching X-files, but Fringe blows it out of the water. There were plenty of X-Files episodes that were lackluster, but I can not name one episode of Fringe I haven't liked. Instead of Mulder dealing w/ his sister's abduction, we have Walter that brought an alternate version of his son from another universe out of love, to save his life, only to have an all-out war come from the other universe. The show is beautiful on a human level. All other TV lacks this.

Great..i liked Invasion and that was cancelled, i liked Jericho and that was cancelled and the Terminator chronicles were cancelled so i hope Fringe lasts as long as the X-Files did.

@jwka2001 Wow, like we Fringe fans have never been flamed by a Phile before. I happen to love XF. I even own the boxset. But you can't just make claims like this because you've obviously never even watched Fringe. If you did, you'd know the only similarities are that it airs on FOX and deals with matters of science. Fringe deals with issues at the fringes of actual science, not myths and urban legends. Also, we do not have aliens, but rather alternate universes. Think before you flame again.

And after a trailer like that one, FOX would look really stupid if they cancel Fringe in may ^^. So it means they trust the show, and they should because if most of the people who DVRd the show on thurdays watch it live on fridays + newcomers who didn't try it yet simply because they watched another show for instance + most of the people who watched it live on thursdays (I think at least 80% of the audience of Fringe is loyal, in such a competitive night you have to love a show to watch it).

Whoa, I'm impressed by that incredibly well-edited promo which delivers an awesome message to all the observers (the press, not the men with bowl hats) who predicted a painful cancellation of Fringe at the end of season 3.
That is the best way to show them they're dead wrong and show us you support the show, FOX, and that is such a great news, because Fringe is easily the best drama on any US network right now. I love it and it's been a long while since I didn't like an episode.
