I have one of these. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a house/practice amp. It's very versatile (from acoustic to heavy metal) and comes with the main effects used on electric guitar.
tried the cube 15 x - i think it makes a superb practice amp and i was surprised that it was actually fun to play thru it, i enjoyed it and highly recommend it if someones looking for something portable & small to practice on
@yuriynyr Don't know about the Roland but EVERY SINGLE Line 6 amp I've played, sounds extremely muddy = You can play a solo and it sounds pretty much the same as playing just a palm muted one note riff on the low E (Slightly exaggerated, but it still sounds bad)
this amp is good for a while however after a year the sound when playing high gain dies, it becomes muddy.
however it is great for clean sounds particulary when putting some external effects trough the amp.
in my opinion if you want to play metal and want a good price, then buy a peavey vyper 30 watt, it is great for playing at home and for practise. not half bad eitheir when playing in a band(put through a good head of course)
@HorrorAngel666 Who said the professional musicians have to be drunk and high! No, that's not the truth, that's just the stupid opinion of some stupid idiot Metal poser!
because i have recently bought a roland cube30x and it has been experiencing alot of sound problems, theres hardly any distortion and it sounds really muddy, and i checked the sound demos on roland.com and my amp sounds much worse!,so can u please help me out coz i spend all my saving and was expecting good things, but instead i get a piece of sht sound
@megadeth806 Maybe try your guitar with the same cable on another amp you have or a friends amp to make sure it's not the guitar or cable. And if you possibly have another amp speaker you might want to try that.Either that or you might have a bum amp-try calling where you bought it at or contacting Roland/Boss directly man.
i desperatly need ur help,i recently bought the cube30x and the distortion sounds really muddy and theres barely and distortion even with gain maxed on the rfier,it doesnt sound at all like these vids, and i dont think its a problem with my cable(fender cable) and guitar(ibanez grg170dx),so can u help me out?please
the cube20x has overdrive and distortion (these are the standard overdrive and distortion effects by boss, aren't they?), what are the overdrive and distortion effects on the cube 30x? I'm a little bit confused, because I just want to have the standard distortion/overdrive on the cube 20x has, but I want a more powerful amp (the cube 30x). Is it possible to get the sounds of the cube 20x, using the effects on the cube30x?
@Hktr231 Different amp models are available in Cube, while Marshall, there's not much to play around with... it's very straight-forward and "un"flexible in its capabilities. Make sure you try Dyna-Amp, or R-Fier, or Classic Stack in Cube 30x; I think you will like those if you are into modern rock tone.
@Hktr231 Hi there, the best piece of advice i can give you is go to the store and try them out. Spend some time looking through different amps too; it's about the tone you like. The reason I say (and a lot of people seem to agree) that Marshall is bad is because their solid-states (the cheaper ones) are extremely poor in tone, lacks versatility and what I really don't like is its clean channel. If you compare Cube's with Marshall, you will notice a HUGE difference. Cube is extremly good for rock
I got one of those marshall mg's. I use it with a strat. They aint great. But they aint bad. Most of these people that call them crap cant dial in a good tone.
Yeah, but Marshall tubes are absolutely beautiful. Just be prepared to fork over alot. In the mean times these randalls are probably the best option unless you want a Peavy.
Sorry Son! I've been around long enough to know a hippy when I see one!! I think this fella may be smokin' that there ganja that hippies are so fond of!
Hell! i'm pretty sure I saw him at a hippy protest in Seattle.
not even for cleans get a cube and if you want more distortion on your fills and riffs get a jvm ps. the jvm is outta budget but worth it or just get a vox valvetronix
idc what u say tangja this dude is F U C K ED UP on something and being a hippy has nothing to do with being a proffesional guitarist... e.g.- hendrix, robert plant, lennon, etc.
Then what do you recommend in the size range? I've been looking around for a long time, and I particularly like the power squeezer feature. I also looked at the much smaller DA5, which was excellent, but it could really use some bass/treble controls.
I ended up buying a Vox Pathfinder 15R, an excellent amplifier. It's a little more expensive, but it's worth. It's loud and clear, silent and powerful.
anyone know of a footswitch that works to switch channels besides the boss one? it's way overpriced, and i know others work but anyone know which ones?
I mean, he says: if you want the same features but a little more power.. AND a couple more amp-models?.. then get a 30x...... i don't get it. So is it the same or not. (except power difference)

I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and an Epi Les Paul Standard, and both can kick your ass through the Roland!! Cheers from Spain!

Are lead channels on 20x emulations of distortion pedals (like the man said about super overdrive on 20x) and on 30x are emulations of amp models?
Are some of the lead channels on the both of the amps (with different names)?
Which lead channels sound better? On 20x or on 30x :) ?

Hello,
I have just bought a Cube 15x.
I am absolute beginner.
I am starting my jazz guitar classes.
I would like to know the better way to configure this ampli for jazz music. It is going to be connected to my Ibanez AF75.
Thanks a lot.
