  • Hey,Hey Heeeeeeey!

    It's Faaaaat Albert!

  • Go Keenan.

  • thank you :)

  • Kenan Thompson?

  • that snare...ughh!

  • Thanks Man

    Helped!

  • niceee :)

  • its bad pratice, from what I heard, to pratice rudiments speeding up and slowing down, because this teaches you to speed up and slow down naturally while playing. I have a drumming book that says that you should pratice these rudiments slow then speed up when slow down again. But I still think this bad to do. As you play the rudiment, you will naturally be able to go faster. Just play the rudiments to songs once you get the hang of it. I just play when I am playing poker with my friends......

  • it isn't a good technique =S

  • thomas pridgen? do you consider dennis chambers to be extremely fat? or carter beauford? they are all beasts

  • haha sooo true lol but thats cause they eat and play all day, but yes good leson this guys is good

  • ive noticed htat to!! lol

  • @Patrickhamilton rudiments arent much of a work out, parking the ass on a drum stool is much relaxing compared to rapping or basketball

  • wow your really good you made this easy

    and simple.

    thankyou alot:)

  • Did you play open or closed double stroke roll, I cannot see that? thanks

  • he starts closed and when more speed is needed you open it

  • gud drummer. Gud lessons. Thnx a lot

  • You seem like a really nice guy.

  • this very helpful thank you

  • Great lesson. Keep um comming....Thx

  • lame

  • lol i do hip hop music so live drumming is only for experimental purposes only.

  • sorry i tried to reply to ungcyfe's comment

  • wow somebody is a homo in the closet. im gay because i use a drum machine? wow says alot abut u, why is everything gay?

  • lol ok, im 24 but hey

  • some people might have a drum machine for playing along to when they play guitar...

  • yeah i have a drum machine to whats wrong with that who said that

  • he would have gone faster by switching to fingers and stroking it out. not a bad lesson . some of the crap I have seen on expert village is just plan wrong. this is ok

  • And, yes, he isn't too slow. But people should know the fact that they have to move their forearms naturally, and not to prevent that movement.

  • i agree that you should use the arms too but he isin't slow

  • Move your arms man. You have to move your arms very slightly. The principal movement is from wrists but your arms should move slightly.

    Kimmo788 is right.

  • ?? ummm no bro, the faster you go the less muscles you use. Fingers if anything no arm...

  • what?! Mm sorry but, I think you are wrong. When you play drums, you have to use your muscles with the correct movement. The thing that should not be in your playing, is TENSION in your muscules. For example, you have to move your forearms very slighly. Isn't even a conscius movement, just is a natural movement. You don't have to exaggerate this movement, or tense your muscles.

I hope you understand, because my english is really poor.

    Greetings from Chile!

  • well you have to consider that everyone may play a different style and form of drumming too even though i do agree with your method for some people there are a few other ways that are easier an more natural for them to use

  • but , dude , these are the basics , you HAVE TO do them the right way like it or not.

  • i know i know but the way certain people put these basics to use. your completely right that you need to play these right and i agree with you but i think i just didnt clearly say what i wanted to

  • lol this is for beginners aiya

  • owtspoken1... couldnt agree more

what else can i say :)

  • could u do a double stroke roll faster than that lol

  • that's true, some drum "teachers" just show off instead of really showing you how to do thigs

  • I agree (if anyone would care, that is): starting slowly is the only way to acquire certain drum techniques... same goes for double bass players...Your kid is like your girlfriend: go slow at first, and when you're all warmed up, make tempo.

  • you mean kit?

  • i hope he does cus otherwise im calling the police on this pedo

  • hahaha

  • @EddeGoaGespiektPeke Yeahh Nice Said!

  • @EddeGoaGespiektPeke I would never perform this procedure upon my child..

  • Guys....this is a TEACHING clip....he doesn't need speed....people dont learn with speed they when it's taught to them slowly and demonstrated slowly....He wants to make sure folks are learning CORRECTLY, not to learn how to do it fast...Speed will come once youve learned it CORRECTLY....Please dont judge this man's teaching by your own personal playing ablity...

  • You are so correct. All the great teaching drummers (Jim Chapin, Joe Morello, etc.) say to go SLOW first. It is useless to learn by starting out fast. Thanks for letting some of these people know.

  • I agree, but....stop...doing....this

  • extreme you're exactly right this guy is kinda sloppy and doesn't get a lot of speed because he's not using any fingers most drummers who are fast and clean use fingers and wrists.

  • if ur playin set/concert and ur doing a roll, you don't use any wrist movement. if ur doing marching you use your wrist. i'd know i'm a drummer check my profile

  • This guy knows his stuff man I'm the drummer at my church and I try to tell the other drummer that's just learning some of that same stuff like playin with ur hands and not your arms man Great

  • If you want to go really fast and your playing to be clean you have to use your fingers...

  • that was pretty good
