  • I don't think I could ever spread dawah - I am so over sensitive and start crying when someone says something a bit mean.. :(

  • assalamo alaikom

it is also important muslims give dawah to themselves, first understand themselves before someone else can understand them inshallah

may Allah guide all brothers and sisters ameen

  • So were is the committment of money for the purpose of getting returns, a.k.a. "investment"?

  • Salaam we should do more effert to spread the Religion of ALLAH. So brothers and sisters give Dawa as often as u can. May Allah s.w.t. bless all Muslims.

  • Im very happy Eddie brought that point up! I was one of the misinformed people who thought that you have to be some old man with a 6 inch long beard and a long tobe to do this type of stuff..but I was created for a purpose, and I do my part in spreading Islam, spreading the truth, especially in this time of misconceptions and false images by the media..terrorism,wife beating,oppression..all things against islam,,,that unfortunately many dont know yet.

this man is one of my favorites, I love him

  • so the job IS to try and convert..

Jehovah witnesses do the same thing.

And I testify only ALLAH is The CREATOR and only to ALLAH do we pray and cast us down to the dust and earth.

    SubhanALLAH

  • oh is eddie a revert too?

  • @tosikuai

    yes he is Alhamdulillah :D

  • @tosikuai yes. elhamdulilah

  • How do you know? I heard he is Bosnian. Most Bosnians are muslims by birth. While he may have at some point in his life not followed the teachings of Islam that doesn't necessarily he was a kaffir at that time. Allahualem.

  • Well i saw a video where eddie was talkin to a guy, and this guy was telling how he converted and what was his feeling (i think) and he said to eddie "did u feel the same thing when u converted? " cant remerber the exact words but he refered to eddie's conversion. and eddie said yes.

so i guessed that he wasnt muslim before.. walahu a3lam. Convert or not he's a great man :) Mashallah.

  • well I heard that u cant convert, because in Islam everyone originally is born Muslim..but it's their parents that bring them up with another religion.

this man is amazing and great!!!

why are all the goodies in canada! shaysh said rageah and others!!!

    :(

  • @tosikuai yep

  • No, you have to. Unless your original's name's meaning is something which represents idols people worship.

As a revert muslima, i fully understand your fears. But don't worry about anything, the first and the most important thing is to knowledge that only Allah is the deity worthy of worship and that Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is his last and final messenger. Rest of the things come along. Islam---has the way out for every matter.

  • I've noticed some muslims have (for lack of a better term) very muslim sounding names. Do people generally change their names when the become Muslim?

  • @BrownSkinLady22 Hi thank you for your question, but generally it not an obligation to change your name.

Only if your birth name has a meaning relating to your fomer religion eg. 'christian" ....but Mary is fine because we beleive in Maryam mother of Jesus (pbut).

Or of pagan root like Dennis comes from the greek god of wine & sexual promiscuity etc

    Peace

  • I didn't change my name when I became a Muslim, but I did take a Muslim name as kind of like a middle name or nick name.

Are you Muslim sister, or would you like to be?

    :-)

  • Do-they dont have 2 change their names! (unless the meaning is something evil) - If they do want to change their name then they should actually keep their original surname because it keeps their heritage! Look at eddie! he hasn't changed his name! :)

  • @BrownSkinLady22

I'm sorry i just notice i have a typo here:

I should say no, you don't have to
