sorry, Im not really a guitar wiring expert, just wonderng: is it possible to wire any electric guitar humbucker with push/pull pots so it can be tapped, or do you have to buy a specific pickup model? thanks
@isaacwilk The coil splitting is possible only if the pickup has 4 wires. Guitar stock pickups normally have only 2 connectors but new pickups like this have 4. If you want to split a 2 wires pickup a disassemble will be necessary....
Is a good idea to check the specs of any pickup before buying it for more info.
or he could just be doing it to be funny, because it is hilarious. I mean, imagine going to see a death metal band and the lead guitarist's guitar has hello kitty on it!
I love GFS also. Ive got Crunchy Rails, Fat Crunchy PAF, VEH's etc.....the only people who dont like them are a couple of pompous pickup makers who think anything they dont make sucks!
He thinks "Only 16 year olds who cant play guitar buy and like them".....LOL What a putz!
Yes of course, but you know...the combination of ceramic magnets and high output could be a little aggressive with some distortions. Also it is recommended to have a single coil split switch.
Im looking at these pickups as a possilbe replacement to mine, are they silent when in distortion, like to they hum or anything?? Thanks alot...If you could post a video of just no playing, with distortion cranked pretty far..so I can get a feel for the hum amount you would be THE MAN =)
Hi, well I have installed the pickups shielding to earth all the cavities of the guitar with conductive aluminium. Using my 100W Marshall at high volumes or recording in studio the hum is imperceptible. This video has a lot of hum noise due to the format conversion, in the big size original there is any noise. I will try to record another video using maximum sound quality.
Hi! I'm planning to buy a pair of those. I am really a beginner at electric guitars so would you recommend them? How do they compare against Ibanez Infinity pickups?
Dude these pickups are killer good, Ibz makes good guitars but the Infinities are subpar pickups, you can make the axe so much better with these, plus these are SOOSOOSOSO cheap.
Hi, Sorry I have not tested this kind of Ibanez pickups yet. About GFS pickups I ordered a set just to test them because I was interested if they where so good as a lot of people say. After some time playing I can tell you that the sound is really good, clean or overdriven at high volumes through my 100W Amp. They can be really aggressive with hard distortions. Definitely I am amazed about them. You could also read some reviews of Ibanez and GFS pickups at reviews.harmony-central
Second Riff and the last two riffs. what are they?
...because they sound SIIIIIIIICCCKKK!!!
And as for the pickups...think ill drop one of the hums into my Starcaster HSS.

That was awesome. How much was your guitar? You've got a perfect Fender Jangle clean right there!

That split single coil tone was fucking amazing. That bridge full distortion was a little too "mid" sounding for my taste.

hmmm the single coil mode sounds really flat

the clean sounds(especially the coil splitted thing) sound excellent, but i think your metal tone was a bit muddy and muffled
