Ok, I got mine :D I don't know if this is normal, but it seems like has very low to nor brake power. Manual doesn't say anything about that :S Help me guys, please.
@braco222 Depends on which one you got, the new water proof one is an updated esc, the older version has the older esc which kills its self by getting hot enough to melt a bit of solder and touch the other leads. So the older version like the one in the video has a bad esc, but hpi has a 2 year warrenty, tell them your problem and they will send you a new one, i think theres a limit to 5, cause thats what i hit and they say they cant give me anymore. But im already brushless.
@rafa37523 It will break in as you run it. Just make sure you use a quality bushing lube on the motor and frequently clean the dust and dirt out of it.
I have the zblitz, and it has been a great truck and just fun to drive. I was wondering with the stock esc being 2s lipo ready is there any certain way to adjust the esc to go from nimh to lipo? I havent ran it with lipo et and am wanting to run Lipo now that I am used to the truck. I appreciate any help.
Hey man do you think the blitz is more worth it than a slash? Because the slash has so many problems and is kinda hard to maintain. So please suggest me a trophy truck that's actually good for bashing and is kinda fast. Thanks in advance!
@supercheesy107 I won many races with the Biltz, it's a very good truck. I'd also check out the XXX-SCT from Losi. Both trucks are very capable, handle well, are fast and easy to wrench on.
im just getting back into the hobby and was wondering if u would reccommend me the blitz ese kit or the sc10 factory team kit to race stock short course i race at ocrc which stocks a fair amount of parts for both companies
@FLUFFINATORofCA Either would be good but I would honestly also recommend checking out the Losi XXX-SCT. There's a number of us planning on racing at OCRC this Wednesday if you'd like to come by and checl the trucks out.
@picotish760 There are a number of great ESC's and motors out there. For mod between a 10.5-8.5 tend to be really happy motors and ESC's from Novak or Tekin would work well too.
@mattsies123 The Blitz is still a very good truck and people are still being successful with it. There have been some newer trucks released that are just as good though, including the XXX-SCT
@nickfin91 It depends on the motor you're using really. If you don't have a motor that pulls much current you won't see much of a difference. If you're using the kit motor then a 20-25C pack will give you very good performance. If you're using a 17.5 Brushless then a 40-45C would be optimal. If you're running modified motors that's when you'd use a 50C+ pack.
@HorizonRCdotCom Oh ok. I am new to the short course world. I recently bought an Hpi Blitz and I was wanting to get rid of the stock motor and put a brushless setup in it. What brushless setup would you recommend?
what happened to team associated?? like on your website you cant buy any short course vehicles and your reviews videos and stuff on the sc10 are gone. did they go out of buisness??
@wakjob94 They have determined that Horizon Hobby will not be an authorized dealer for Team Associated products. As a result we have had to remove all product from our website.
Good video i just bought my blitz i do have a Nicid 1800 batterypack with it would it be better for the blitz performormance better if i bought a lipo??
@84foxracing I've been using the Orion Molecular 45C packs with this truck and been very happy. Thunder Power also just released some 65C packs I plan on testing next weekend too.
im about ready to buy anether truck but im stuck between this blitz and the losi desert truck. i do have a mini desert truck witch is mostly used inside but i want a new 1/10 truck for out side bashing. i dont plan to go lipo any time soon and would like to just run the stock motor till it weres out then maybe go brushless. can you give me a personal comparsion of the 2 out of the box? thanks
@blownutsmyass Both are good trucks. The Desert Truck's a little faster out of the box and the ESC has a reverse lockout which the Blitz does not. The Desert Truck includes a Spektrum-based transmitter where the Blitz has a 27Mhz AM radio, so there too the Desert Truck is better equipped. It also has CV Axles where the Blitz has Dogbones. Both handle very well and the SC Class is THE class right now if you're looking to race. If you're going to race, then the Blitz, if not I'd say Desert Truck
@HorizonRCdotCom thanks for the good and helpfull info. have you ever done a speed test on the blitzs? i know you did on the desert truck i just kinda want to know what the blitzs will do. also you said the desert truck is a little faster is that top speed or from off the line to top speed? im never gona race just back yard bashing gravel, dirt, grass. so im thinking witch ever has the best low end power would be best for our needs. i have yet to understand what the diffrence is on the radios.
@blownutsmyass I have not done a straight-line speed test like with the Desert Truck. I'd estimate the stock speed to be about 25MPH with the Blitz. Acceleration would be pretty close between the two but I feel, IMHO, that the Desert Truck would quickly pull away.
@jakeman49926 The lower the turn, generally, the faster the motor. The problem is with these closed endbell-type motors a lot depends on the brushes used, the timing in the motor, etc. I'll tell you the 15T in here and the 12T in the Slash and Strike have nearly identical performance.

@HorizonRCdotCom and you used the 4-degrees that came in the parts bag? and i also put the shock towers all the way in in the back which, i noticed, stops alot of unessisary flipping

Hi folk's, last friday I got a my first r/c sct and is a blitz, do I have to change the speed control if I use lipo batteries, or the speed control is ready to use with this battery, the truck is stock, thanks for your info.
@Dfrog123 I also have a Blitz It can run lipo out of the box. I am using a 7.4volt 4000mah 2s with a 25c discharge. I did not have to change andything. All I had to do was get a tamia to deans adaptor.
@Dfrog123 The C rating tells you the rate at which the lipo battery drains or discarges. There are many different discarge ratings 20c 25c there are ones that have 25c constant with a 50c burst. these are manly the larger 3-4 cell lipos. hope this helps out
@Dfrog123 You do not need to swap ESCs if you're using a LiPo, just remember though that the stock ESC does not have a cutoff to prevent over-discharging.
Hello. great vid. i,m gonna get Mini Trophy Truck. i think it,s same electronics[ not out in uk yet ]. what 2S lipo worked best with the motor. if the release date gets put back again i,m gonna pick up the BLITZ. cheers.
hi i am thinking about buying this truck and i wanted to know if this ran off Ni Mh batteries because i dont have the money to upgrade to Li Po and my other truck is ffor Ni Mh
I own a traxxas slash and I am thinking about gitting an hpi blitz or team associated sc10 which would you prefer if you were racing short cores please reply buckwild4567
@MasterKronik If you're looking for good performance without breaking the bank you can't go wrong with the Dynamite DYN5360D 5300mAh LiPo. They have really good performance and for $79.99 you can't go wrong. If you're looking for more power I've been very high on the Orion Molecular-series of 45C LiPos. I have been running both the 5000mAh and 4600mAh packs in my Blitz and been very happy.
Hi, I have an E firestorm 10T which I just made LiPo. A new MRC palm lipo charger. And new connectors on the car. And I know that the Blitz and the E Firestorm both have SC-15 ESC's. When I put my battery in, the ESC goes green. When try and give it gas it goes red. I would appreciate your help, Thanks, Derek.
when the blitz was running the first time, why does it feel like a rustler xl5 with 6 cell battery could beat the hpi blitz and its using a lipo battery. shouldnt it be going really fast?
@RAMPAGE168 Out-of-the-box you should see speeds between 25-30MPH depending on gearing. I haven't driven a box-stock Rustler in years so I don't know off the top of my head how fast that goes.
@jetsman66 the Blitz DOES have reverse, what it is missing is reverse lockout. Basically there's no way for anyone to disable reverse and just have brakes. The Blitz is $204.99 on the HorizonHobby Website.
yo i bought a blitz ended up being to slow (for me) so i put lipo blew motor/esc put a fuze brushless combo in and it whips with it i have a prgramming card wit it and everything. i didnt like look so much saw a vid on a prerunner and then it came to me so i went in garage and put traxxas shocks on and lowered the back. now it looks like a true preruner. im probally going to paint rims l dont no yet
which is quicker out of the box the associated sc10 or the blitz I'm looking for an rtr, which of the two would you recomend for tracking it and also some bashing,
also I have seen an rtr brushless sc10 would you recomned that?
hi, wat should i get if i want to race alil but still want to play in the desert but i want electric i was bettween the traxxas slash 2wd,sc10,blitz so i just want an opinion
@Pdizog The SC10 or Blitz will be better pure-race vehicles but they're great bashers too. The SC10 and Blitz have more chassis tuning options than the Slash too.
@Pdizog you can't go wrong with the slash or blitz. they are both really hard to break. having both the slash jumps way better but the blitz handles better as in driving. although i do not know how the sc10 handles but i have hear
why are the rear tires towed in
MrWildworld64 6 months ago
@MrWildworld64 Rear toe-in provides more traction on-power and helps the truck track straighter.

a 15t motor in 540 is much faster than a 12t in 550, he should know that. a 12t 550 in 540 style would be more around 20-22t.

bmx65 1 year ago
@bmx65 No, many have reverse. However reverse is strictly forbidden during competition.

Is it fairly simple to switch the connector to Deans?
AT0M3x 1 year ago
@AT0M3x Yes. Check out the Soldering Basics video we have up too as I show you how to install Deans connectors.

I recently bought a blitz and I am wondering what type of battery should I use?. It is stock still
MasterKronik 1 year ago
@MasterKronik If you're looking for good performance without breaking the bank you can't go wrong with the Dynamite DYN5360D 5300mAh LiPo. They have really good performance and for $79.99 you can't go wrong. If you're looking for more power I've been very high on the Orion Molecular-series of 45C LiPos. I have been running both the 5000mAh and 4600mAh packs in my Blitz and been very happy.

would this truck be able to beat the sc10?
RockinMissZ 1 year ago
@RockinMissZ All depends on setup and drivers. I've beaten SC10's with one, I've been beaten by SC10's too.

What is the standart Motor ?
MrGidi123 1 year ago
@MrGidi123 It's a Firebolt 15T motor.
HorizonRCdotCom 1 year ago
Hi, I have an E firestorm 10T which I just made LiPo. A new MRC palm lipo charger. And new connectors on the car. And I know that the Blitz and the E Firestorm both have SC-15 ESC's. When I put my battery in, the ESC goes green. When try and give it gas it goes red. I would appreciate your help, Thanks, Derek.
blink182iscool4ever 1 year ago
@blink182iscool4ever Check your connections between the ESC and the motor. I would also check to make sure the motor is still good too.

how fast can these go?
tcurt1s 1 year ago
when the blitz was running the first time, why does it feel like a rustler xl5 with 6 cell battery could beat the hpi blitz and its using a lipo battery. shouldnt it be going really fast?
RAMPAGE168 1 year ago
@RAMPAGE168 Out-of-the-box you should see speeds between 25-30MPH depending on gearing. I haven't driven a box-stock Rustler in years so I don't know off the top of my head how fast that goes.

so u said that the blits does not reverse. and how much does it run for.
jetsman66 1 year ago
@jetsman66 he said he dosnt want it to so when he brakes while racing he dosnt accidentaly go backwards.it reverses lol
BrandonANDBrantonTV 1 year ago
@BrandonANDBrantonTV Ohh thanks lol
jetsman66 1 year ago
@jetsman66 the Blitz DOES have reverse, what it is missing is reverse lockout. Basically there's no way for anyone to disable reverse and just have brakes. The Blitz is $204.99 on the HorizonHobby Website.

@HorizonRCdotCom
yo i bought a blitz ended up being to slow (for me) so i put lipo blew motor/esc put a fuze brushless combo in and it whips with it i have a prgramming card wit it and everything. i didnt like look so much saw a vid on a prerunner and then it came to me so i went in garage and put traxxas shocks on and lowered the back. now it looks like a true preruner. im probally going to paint rims l dont no yet
dunerforlife 1 year ago

hi, wat should i get if i want to race alil but still want to play in the desert but i want electric i was bettween the traxxas slash 2wd,sc10,blitz so i just want an opinion
Pdizog 1 year ago
@Pdizog The SC10 or Blitz will be better pure-race vehicles but they're great bashers too. The SC10 and Blitz have more chassis tuning options than the Slash too.
HorizonRCdotCom 1 year ago
@Pdizog you can't go wrong with the slash or blitz. they are both really hard to break. having both the slash jumps way better but the blitz handles better as in driving. although i do not know how the sc10 handles but i have hear
