  • I miss sleeping on the ramp, waiting for a mission, then all of a sudden, "Get your shit on, and tail, get the immagery from the POC crew." "Tails in position and secure, up com; ramps level secure, tails cleared out"

  • much respect to the 53 guys, its sad to see the bird go, it was much needed AF.

  • best helicopter ever

  • Beautiful bird.. truly..

  • is this the helicopter that one of the deciptiCONS are in transformers? it looks really similar.. my dad rode in one of these and my cousins been a pilot since he was 18 ( he's 25 now) he says hes gonna take me flying one day. God Bless the USA. (and other countries :)

  • Yes this was "Blackout" in the first movie. The second movie had a different version of roughly the same type of helicopter "CH-53E"

  • id jizz in my pants if i saw this thing flying at me

    sucks the retired it though

  • Why did they retire the Pave Low?

  • well it apparently was replaced by a stronger heli, (which I don't believe) and a faster heli (I believe) but still I don't see why they can't use such a safe heli to transport troops instead of the awkward looking Chinook =)

  • @HoBoMoBob , from my understanding it's mission was replaced by several different aircraft, from several different branches. Including the CV-22's, What ever the 160th SOAR uses now and the HH-60 to take its secondary CSAR role.

  • Alright, thanks... I was just a little confused because my uncle is in the Army Rangers and he said he rode in a Pave low once, but the next month they decided to retire them... needless to say he was disappointed =)

  • awesome

  • I hate the people who think pave lows are bloody 9 kill streak and all this mw2 shit.

I think mw2 is a great game and i use the pave low as a kill streak on it. but at the end of day pave lows are real helicopters!

  • thank you 4 sayn that people just always refer to this and the ac130 as 9 and 11 killstreaks and sayn that they suck cuz they always get shot down

  • is it true that these are really really hard to take down?

  • goodbye, my pavelow...

  • flying tank

  • lol @ pave low, I mean, they are flying f*****s that will mow your base down. I really need an RTS game where you can deploy they badasses.

  • Truly an impressive machine. Can't imagine being an enemy combatant and seeing one fly overhead, shock and awe...

  • Damn!!! I need to hear rotor noise!!!

Not that walking fossil jon bon phooey...

  • hahaha, walking fossil

  • I know all good thing's must come to an end sooner or later but the 53 was

''damn good thing'' that shoulda been kept around alot longer ! I mean come on how many choppers can brag about never officialy haveing entered some one's airspace and dropped off or picked up teams that officialy were never there ; )

  • hell yes! you are so right. its a shame she went into retirement. but, at least her cousin the ch-53 is still used frequently by the navy. so in a way, she still lives on! :D

  • That's the thing though. They Never Said ANYTHING. :D

    Never Talk, Never Brag.

  • They didn't have to !

  • @yooutube321321

Ya I know but still ya gotta miss it =(

  • Rest in Peace my ol friends.. You're ol Engine Troop lil Joe the Pro from Frisco--

-Most memoriable time on a fifty three- flying from South Korea all the way to Guam-- smooth ride my friends-smooth

  • My husband worked on these ladies for 20 years, Special Ops (retired air force). He was stationed at Hurlbert Field, as well as Tyndall. These birds may not be the prettiest things to look at, but they are by far one of the best the Air Force ever had. RIP MH53's. We'll miss you!

  • what are they being replaced with?

  • The Pave Lows are being replaced with the CV-22 Ospreys. The replacement rotation began in North Africa last October during Operation Flintlock

  • X- Engine Troop for the Mighty MH-53 Pave Low-- 31st SOS, South Korea 98-2001. I could still remember riding the 53 from Osan AB to Guam- damn smooth ride, but cold as hell.

    RIP my ol friend-- :c(

  • So this is what the Pave low looks like in real life :)

couldn't picture it in clancys book clear and present danger :)

    boy is it HUGE!

  • T/N 70-1630 was my baby. I was the ACC on her from 2003-2006 before getting hurt in Iraq. Sad day when they retired them. They were a total bitch to keep in the air, but it was worth it to have them do a low pass with the gear up.

  • Nice....it took me a minute to look back into these beasts....god ya hate em but ya have to love em...shame they getting tossed....2000-2006....miss those years. RIP PAVES!

  • @Hookstar28 did u fly on them?

  • My Son was a gunner on a MH-53's final mission!!

  • I watched the last 53 fly out of Hurlburt, used to be stationed there. Kinda sad, kinda happy.

  • the mh-53 j is officialy out of survice

my brother was the crew cheif of the lead chopper in the mh-53s final mission

  • Sadly, this wonderful piece has been retired from active sercice on 08-08-2008

  • I Think all of them will be Gone by the End of September.

  • I don't know if I can say where he is right now. But, he is based out of Hurlburt Field. We had the chance while our Son was training in Kirtland AFB, NM to get a tour of a V-22. Very interesting aircraft.

  • The MH53's are still still being used in active duty. My Son is a gunner on one.

  • afsoc at hurlbert has a squadron of v-22s now. Saw one the other day, had a couple of nacelles on its nose like a pave low. Perhaps the new generation?

  • Paves are still active, for now.

  • Paves are still active, for now.

  • what base did they move to thats reserves?

  • dont know all of the top of my head, but i know of one reserve base near sanfrancisco.

  • Cv-22 still dont have a job...but it's true that mh-53s are phased out.

  • @Dan007CT Hurlburt Field, FA, Also where the AC-130's are stationed off duty

  • Anyone know that chopper stars in a certain movie? anywone know?

  • transformers.

  • true. That was just too easy

  • @Dan007CT Don't come on this site and throw out some movie reference to what real people in the real world do and have done. That is a disrespect to those that shed some blood and sweat to get the job done in the world few know anything about that keeps us all free.

  • @gihoosier26 fuck yeah stfu... transformers? come on dude have some respect

  • perfect song perfect helicopter. rip mh53 pavelow

  • i think there going to a graveyard. sad :(

  • Are you sure there being taken out of service?

I find it hard to believe there not that old compared to a number of halos and aircraft still in service and there fantastic in the role.

  • I think they are still capable of service if they keep updating them.

  • it's a shame that these bad motherfuckers are being put to rest.

  • really? i didnt know they were. that is a shame

  • bon jovi dead or alive love the song + Video

  • They're talking about Blackout from the new Transformers movie. He's a giant robot who transforms into an MH-53 Pave-Low.

  • It was good to see that video again. I hadn't seen it in ten years since I left the USAF. It was always being shown at Commander's Call.

  • Dude, I love Blackout! When is he going to transform!?

  • Why is he dropping those big cheerios. he's supposed to drop Scorponok.

  • Who? Nah, that is a modified MH-53J Pave-Low helicopter. Sweet video compilation.

  • It's Blackout.
