  • what is this music called

  • Who took first in this?

  • If only that was her performance at worlds :(

  • i like 1:00

  • why didnt she win at worlds -______-

  • @Jeikudes

Because Mattie typically goes Splattie :)

  • @Jeikudes She didn't land her double layout at qualifications and she did not qualify for event finals

  • that double layout OMG<3

  • It seems like Work! The styles is worth!! watching.

  • Comment removed

  • 'she paid attention to detail like sticking landings'

... right, because every other gymnast doesn't pay attention to sticking a tumbling pass... commentators are brain dead

  • @MAVsince1991 no..she actually can, no one else seems to realize that you're supposed to stick (dumbest rule ever)

  • she gets so high on that triple full

  • very good execution! nice routine!! she stick every movement

  • She's great and she makes that leo looks awesome.

  • it is so sad that mattie's mistakes at 2010 worlds ruined her olympic chance. both nastia and shawn fell twice at the 2007 worlds. alicia sacramone fell twice at the olympic games and marta is considering her. i know mattie can't be compared to shawn or nastia, but i still think it was unfair to count her out so early on. she is 10x more talented than many of the girls at the training camp. now that mackenzie and rebecca are injured, she may have been an asset to this team. best of luck to her

  • A M A Z i N G ! ♥ ♥

  • Her coach should be charge with indecent assault for squeezing agents himself an extra to much and then he kissed her.

  • i luv her floor routine its so BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • one of the few female gymnasts that are adjusting well to the fact that they no longer are allowed as tep

  • Shes so beautiful :D

  • @dannyradar I AGREE! She has such beauty on the inside and out!

  • she's a great tumbler.

    everything else is freaky.

  • shes so pretty and amazing

  • shes amazing!

  • Shawn Johnson + Nastia Liukin = Mattie Larson

  • @missfashion370 Wait a minute!...Ok, you're right XD Her tumblings are amazing - like shawn - and her form is gracefull - like Nastia.

  • @missfashion370

Incorrect. Shawn and Nastia can actually hit their routines.

  • Anyone know her score?

  • @theamazingjaide Her score was 15.350

  • i like her routine but i think she tries to sell her routine too much and tries to over perform

  • @gymchick3345 thats the only problem. She needs some ballet classes to become less jerky in her dance...you can tell a difference between the refined dance of russia compared to the america gymnast.

  • i've seen two videos of this routine at the same VISA championships, but different nights- WOW. that double layout gets me everytime:)

  • That really was a fabulous routine! :)

  • She's great--I liked her 2008 music better, but still like the new. She reminds me of 1990's Soviet gymnasts like Boguinkaya and Galieva. Still think Anna Pavlova's 2008 AA floor routine is best of recent times. Mattie is best American on FX, though. Hope she goes to Worlds this year and Olympics next.

  • by far the best floor routine ever !!!!

  • fierce routine.

her messy hair... not so fierce.

    i give her a 9.95.

  • @jrlassiter To bad they dont judge that way

  • has anyone ever done fx to jlo-ain't it funny (instrumental)

  • WOW her tumbling and her dance was the best EVER!!!!!!!!

  • @LaVoix555

Not even close. Her tumbling is great, her dance is good too. But there are plenty of better dancers and tumblers out there.

  • Does anybody know what brand her leo is? A gym that I compete against has the exact same leos but in a different color.

  • @MargaretLeighh its GK

  • oh my god... :58 drooooooooooooooooool

  • I see a little sass at :58!

  • Cant believe she was not in the event finals at Rotterdam. Lauren Mitchell has origniality and a very solid routine, i mean to take nothing away from her, but Mattie is just plain Dynamic.

  • too bad she didnt do that at worlds.she made us loose

  • That was an amaaaaaaaaaazing routine what did she get??

  • amazing shes my favourite gymnast!!! :)

  • It would be really heartbreaking were they not to allow this girl a go at 2012 because of a sucky Worlds. She does the best floor work in the world imho.

  • @sophiejo tottaly agree!

  • its funny, i used to not like her very much, but now shes one of my favs, and i LOVE her floor routine!! :)

  • She did amazing at the visa, but she got jittery and nervous at the worlds, next year she'll be more ready and she'll win the gold at worlds.

  • you are amazing!!!

  • I never get tired of watching this floor routine! Anyone have the music, cuz I love it!

  • El Tango de Roxanne, but who is the artist?

  • @Bunnies4wool no, its apasionada by william joseph

  • I felt so bad for her during the World Championships. I really hope her mistakes there don't affect her badly as a gymnast in Marta's eyes.

  • love the choreography n how it really suits the music! and her tumbling is sensational!

  • aww man. can we transpose this on worlds team finals?? : (

  • So gorgeous and her suit too!!

  • I dont get how Bross won on floor, kinda bs. Shes all attitude, Larson had a better routine then her, by far. She had all better routines then her, yet bross still won. If she hadnt come from woga, she probably wouldnt of even been in top 3. Get some new judges, these ones are blind -.-

  • @TayTayandZoee Rebecca didn't win floor -- she got second. Mattie Larson DID win floor.

  • @RebelAngel036 Oh, Ok. Sorry, I didnt get to watch the full thing, I mean I did see both of the floor routines, but from what I heard it sounded like Rebecca won floor. Sorry, thanks for the clear up.

  • get gold at worlds mattie

  • That was FAN-TASTIC!

  • i can't believe there are no comments about how good looking she is...

  • Remember, this girl is a future UCLA Bruin. Imagine Mattie's dancing plus Miss Val's choreography. It's going to be crazy-amazing.

  • THIS GIRL DOMINATES FLOOR PERIOD.

  • she is probably the best floor worker for the US I have seen in a long time!

  • @LaVoix555 Since 96

  • Respond to this video... Shoulda been the '10 world fx champ..but sht happens

  • wow, no questioning that double pike!!

  • she nailed that double pike

  • anyone see martha's face around 2:16, in the background.

i love mattie! i'm so glad she's back and going to worlds! awesome accomplisment

  • 15.350 Diffuclty 15.9 ecution 9.450

  • 15.350 sv 5.9

  • if this doesn't win an individual event medal at worlds, there is no justice in the world. Seriously.

Difficult tumbling? Check. Minimal landing deductions? Check. Hits her splits? Check. Gorgeous, expressive dance? Check.

Done like this, I believe this routine is 100% unbeatable.

  • sooo glad she's doing a double lay mount now

  • love her leo wow she has grown up a lot and her tumbling passes are amazing she dances with so much grace and tumbles with grace to, i love her hair and she is one of my favorite gymnast i wish she would have made the 2008 olympic team but there is always 2012

  • wow. Great last tumbling pass. Epic win. Massive ownership. xoStephy :P

  • woah. she has grown up so much. and her gymnastics has improved a lot too!! she owned that floor routine!

  • She definitely has great power and commitment to her routine. I just wish gymnasts paid a bit more attention to dance technique, that's what made the soviets so good, They had tons of ballet. .

  • I just can't get over how much she's matured - she and her gymnastics look phenomenal.

  • Proof that a gymnast can perform a fairly difficult floor exercise routine while maintaining artistry. I hope she goes to Worlds and at least gets into floor finals.

  • she has something rebecca doesnt have and that is grace which seems to always prevail

  • she needs to stop wearing her hair like that it looks sloppy..

  • she has really improved from 2008! go mattie

  • i cant believe your comparing the crap tweddle does to larson's gorgeous work and how it's somehow wayyy better... wow im stunned to be honest

  • @twistedelegance78 maddies scores will kills Beth's scores in the US. Maddie will be embarrassed going up against beth on any international scale!

  • inflated scores people...inflated scores. this would never happen in an international competion where "favorites" are given WAY more than they deserve. the presentation is beautiful...but not work THAT much.

  • i LOVEEEEEE that leo. like crazy much

  • @twistedelegance78 Yeah but this was an American event and the scores are always higher. International competitions gymnasts score much lower.

  • She has to be in world champ team! That Kicked ass!!

  • omg she is GORGEOUS!!! awesome

  • Martha's face at 2:20 <3

  • She Is Rocking:) I am Happy To See It Too!

  • amazing everything, and i love her leo

  • she's goregeous!

  • Just ignore Nordic, he's making those comments about everyone.

  • I love her so much! Such a badass performance. And she looked so pretty night 2! I hope she does great at Worlds (:

  • best triple i've ever seen on floor!

  • AMAZING! WE HAVE A DANCER! WE HAVE A COMPETITOR! GO MATTIE

  • Although one thing I've noticed in these gymnasts is low start values.. Bross' highests are 6.2, with her vault being 5.8. As far as I can tell her only G-skill is on beam? Alicia's vault is the only thing I've seen that has significant potential to win against international competitors, although Mattie's style can definiitely do well. Back in the Shawn & Nastia days, the start values were all in the 6's & 7's..

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies Yes, but the system has changed a bit since then. Nobody's start values are as high as they used to be... They've all gotten a lot lower.

  • @SEETHR0UGHMEx Thanks. The only think I've noticed that might discredit this is vault scores? Alicia's is somewhere within the 6.6-7.0 range, I believe, and Vanessa Zamarripa's is 7.0. From what I'd heard most others were in the lower 6's and high 5's.

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies Alicia's vaults were valued at DTY 5.8 (15.8) and FHS Rudi 6.3 (16.3). VaZam's Cheng gives her 6.5 (16.5) and 5.0 (15.0).

  • @ogrunner4lyfe Thanks. I realised shortly after posting that I'd mistaken Alicia's, however I was fairly certain the announcers at the Visas said that Vanessa's was a 7.0? I must have been mistaken..

If you could tell me where you find these, I'd really appreciate it. I've searched USA Gymnastics archives and still haven't managed to find up-to-date A-scores; it can be hard to find videos that give the A-Scores.

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies I went to the USA Gymnastics website and clicked on results. Selected Visa Championships and it gave me the start value of each routine and the execution that the gymnast was awarded.

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies

Bross's beam is a 6.4/6.5 and her FX is 6.0. She already proved she can do very well internationally.

Mattie will for sure do well on FX, but UB and BB is yet to be seen, as she had really bad dance elements on BB, and UB she doesn't always connect what she's supposed to (the Ricna-Bail)

  • @ItsNastiaFan101 Thanks, from what I'd heard I thought her beam, floor, and bars were all 6.2, with a 5.8 on vault. Although nobody can argue that Bross doesn't have exceptional talent, I personally find her style very robotic, and she could use some work on her artistry.

I really like Mattie's floor, and she presents it well. If other commenters are correct, & int'l gymnasts have similar A-scores, she'll definitely shine.

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies have you not heard of the code of points change? The reason their start values are low is because they only count 8 skills instead of 10 now. Please do not leave anymore ignorant remarks about the gymnast, which in my opinion is one of the most talented squads coming up. But i do miss nast :(

  • @gymLYYFE You don't need to be rude about it; it wasn't meant to be insulting. I know the code changed, I just wasn't completely aware in what ways. However, I maintain that there seems to be a lack of G-skills.. if less skills are counted, it makes more sense to include more of the highest-level skills, does it not?

Simply comparing the new gymnasts to the older ones in split-screens keeps me believing that Shawn & Nastia were better in several ways, although I do agree there are some(con't)

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies well these gymnast haven't had their chance to prove themselves on an Olympic stage and haven't hit that final peak like Nastia and Shawn have. And no actually. There is no point in putting in G skills if the gymnast cannot execute them consistently in practice and in competition. And also pay attention to combonations. They are often more valuable than G skills, because most G skills arent used in combination, they dont get bonus points+ skill value. Just skill value.

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies

In the '06 - 0'8 code, the gymnasts A score counted 10 skills; now it only counts 8. The US still has the best gymnasts, nothing has changed when it comes to that. Compared to most of the world, Rebecca Bross's 6.2 on Bars and Beam is quite high. The highest A score in the world right now is He Kexin who has a 7.1 on bars. With the same routine, her A score last year was a 7.7. And I think Deng Linlins the only gymnast right now with a higher A score the Becca on beam...

  • @TwisterFlipp95 Thanks for the info. (: FIG is starting to frustrate me haha. They're trying to highten the value of artistry by limiting acrobatics, but I don't know.. I thought the judging system in Beijing was fairly reasonable, apart from the fact that judges could choose who to watch in slow-motion and often looked at only one gymnast, being extra picky on that one. Limiting acrobatics is going to negatively affect even artistic power-gymnasts, because of their body types, in my opinion.

  • @aTruthWrappedInLies

Yeah, they're asking way too much of women now --- especially on floor.

  • Of the current US gymnasts, Mattie is definitely my favourite. I find Rebecca really robotic, and I hate that she rarely smiles during competitions. I know it's her game face.. but I like that Mattie has said she's worked to hard to not enjoy herself. She & Bridget are my favourite all-around gymnasts, and I still love Alicia. I hope Shawn Johnson has a successful comeback; she's always been my favourite. Although she mightn't have had gorgeous lines, she still had grace, power, and personality.

  • I think Mattie is the only one who doesn't fall out of her floor spins. She always finishes on toe! I love it!

  • wow!! i love u maddie!

  • She is amazing.

  • love love love her!!!

  • WOW! I LOVE her dynamics

  • i think this is my favourite routines now. she is REALLY expressive. i think her tumble is very underrated. she is one of the best tumblers out there. she can flip - double layout, she can twist - triple twist, she has form, and she can stick!! maybe she is a few tenths lower in difficulty than the top floor workers in the world, but she's more than a few tenths cleaner in execution. let's hope she doesn't get injured by worlds and hit there and medal on floor!

  • Wow. Mattie is my favorite and I hope to God that she doesn't get injured again so she can make the Olympics in 2012. Gorgeous floor routine, definitely one of the best I have seen... Ever.

  • goosebumps!!!

  • very very very nice! :D

  • her smirk around :56 - :57 is the best part

  • i was der tonight in hartford and mattie did a graet job but im sorry i was rooting on rabecca bross.

  • I can't describe how excited I am to see her healthy and competing again! She is my favorite gymnast in the world. And I mean that literally. I want to see her kick some serious keester and Worlds! :P
