Neat, but hardly enough power (and not much flexibility in the hand of course). Dunno how feasible it would be, but it might help to load it up with tension both ways, in such a manner that you can just give it a slight swing w/ the engine to get it going where you want, just using the engine/pistons to direct the flow of the tension. Like a garage door, basically, on a grander scale and w/ a lot of tricky articulation :D That would overcome the jerkiness I should think.
