The only lute version of this Alman (Alemain) on YouTube is played 'way too fast for my liking. By contrast, there are many guitar versions of the Alman on YouTube--this is the one I like best (it's most similar to the recording I have at home of Julian Bream playing the piece on the lute).

i have to do a gay english assignment over the renaissance and i have to have a audio. thank you for this because the alterntive is me doing that shit. thanks!
I like the subtle change of tone for the voices of the repeated phrases at bars 5 & 6 and 13 & 14 the guitar can do this with a bit of technique ....well played Peo.
Well, not everything on the Internet is for free! I have worked a lot making them. Both arranging them, typing them into Tab. And not the least: I have studied music all my life to be able to do it. Why shouldn't I get paid for it if someone want to have it?? Isn't that fair? Are you working for free? You can listen to me here for free. You don't have to pay for my CD or my Tabs.
You replied very kindly to my previous comment on this vid.Said grandson(now aged 11) and I are now working on the piece, having just finished "Hesitation Blues".In Noad's transcription a 7th fret A (3rd finger)is sustained during the first 4 notes of the little descending scale-run in the 3rd bar of the last two variatons, whereas you appear to be holding-down a 5th fret C.Have I guessed correctly? There is no dissonance, and yours seems to be an easier option.
Hi! I couldn't play this when I was 11 so i am impressed.
I don't know Noad's transcription but you are right. I hold the C. I think you should do what you think sounds best (not the easiest solution!!) Always go after the best-sounding solution. If you think they are both good, stick to the easy one.
Great stuff as always,Peo.Seems to be the same Alman as in Noad's "Renaissance Guitar". My 10 year old grandson and I are already fans of the other R.J.(and of yourself),and I think we'll have a bash at this one.Which crossroads did this Robert visit before writing the piece?Hope that it was near Bolton Lancashire.
VERY nice! This is one of my favorite pieces to play, but seeing what a great job you do with it I'm just going to have to play it a little more often to brush up!
When I hear this music I just daydream and imagine myself in the great landscapes of the past, the ballrooms with people dressed in Baroque style, dancing and smiling.. the sun shinging through huge windows.. wauw!
Just wonderful. We're fortunate to be able to see and hear classical guitar played with such complete mastery. Music like this comes from within and it sings thru Peo's guitar like it's his inner voice. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, Peo :)
Respect ! Great ! Great ! Very nice interpretation ! Many greetings and best wishes!

I didn't know there was another Robert Johnson (apart from 1911-1938 bluesman).
Unfortunately an error occurs in this video (only this one) and I can't view this.

i don't think almains were played that fast until the Baroque period, when they didn't dance to them no more.
I wouldn't want to dance to this with all the layers of clothing I'd have back then.
