How hard is it to pull the stick out of gear without the clutch? I know that you must be very careful pushing it INTO gear without the clutch, but I am not so sure about leaving gear.
here we have a split to up & down de gears so I dont need clutch is different to your truck in europe you dont have a split ??? thank you for comment ;)
@waymobil69 if you don't drive an automatic it's pretty much the same. mostly you have low range, high range and the option to split every gear. but it differs from brand to brand.
@WNxRadeon Just pre-select the split, it engages when you ease off the gas. He starts off in 1st, then uses all of the gears when shifting up. So it's 1-2-3-4-5L-5H-6L-6H-7L-7H-8L-8H. A 13 speed has only splits in high range, you can see it at 0:07.
In american trucks, the gearbox has no synchromesh, so you have to rev-match each gear when engaging. This makes skipping gears a lot harder, especially for inexperienced drivers.

how do you split gears without using the clutch?
here in europe you'll have to press the clutch before it splits the gear.
I also so see a diffrent shift pattern in american videos, could you tell me your shift pattern?
Here in europe it's: 3 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 7½ > 8 > 8½. it's a lot quicker since you don't have to go through all of the lower gears.

Man, I miss 13. I hate 10s. Nothing to due, and as far as I'm concerned, it's more work when pulling heavy loads up hills
