Nope...you are missing the subtext. The point of the song is that you cannot just change your geography to fix your problems. You have to fix the problems inside you. I've heard countless interviews with her and that is what it's about. I think the songwriter knows the point of her own song. A person in recovery (12 step) for years, as she has been, has taken responsibility for her own part in her issues. Do a bit more research - you seem unfamiliar with her work.
