  • I absolutely love this!!

  • Even though this has a somewhat somber melody, it is timeless and classic Eno. It is without a doubt one of my favorite of all his compositions, and several other favorites on here include Julie with the Open blouse and The Big Ship. Before and After Science was truly one of the most brilliant albums by one of the greatest musical geniuses of our time.

  • If i die ,please bring my body to this river

  • Brian Eno brought me here¡¡ Thanks

  • Y Tu Mama Tambien brought me here, but first heard this sampled by Living Legends or was it Mystic Journeymen?

  • @rexeffektamatic ah, yes. Living Legends - Never Falling Down (from the album Classic)

  • que bueno

  • En México tambien se escucha a artistas de la talla de Eno, me gusto mucho escuchar esta canción en la de Y tu mama también.

  • Great..

  • Artist: Hans-Joachim Roedelius

    What?

  • @MasterYumyums This tune was originally released in 1977 on Eno's fifth studio album, "Before and After Science." In the album notes, HJ Rodelius and Dieter Mobius got co-"writer(s)" credits, with Eno, for this song. Rodelius and Mobius played instruments on this album, as well. And this song is included for sale in the "Works" collection, by Rodelius. But, c'mon! Google's "Artist" credit here should be a link to Brian Eno and his work, not Rodelius.

  • @karmicfurnace Thanks for the explanation. But yeah, I'd say you have to give the credit to the artist whose album it appears on.

  • Y tu mama tambien brought.... you know the rest... Lx

  • @StripeyJumpsuit yeah you'r right men but i love this song its remember me a cloudy and cold afternoom in a very old house i dont know why

  • QUESTO PEZZO E' VERAMENTE, VERAMENTE, MA VERAMENTE.... ISPIRATO. Bellissimo!! Il testo poi.... se possibile, è ancora più ISPIRATO. Vibrano corde inusuali e sconosciute in me

  • AWSOME beyong words. MOG Eno again .. :) Eno !

  • Roedelius is a genius

  • ...meraviglioso..mi porta on la mente lontano..anni luce..da tutto...

  • Always thought Eno was a bit creepy but now I'm glad I slipped into his music. This song particularly speaks to me.

  • Living Legends, Never Falling Down...

  • it's also a soundtrack of an italian movie "La stanza del figlio" (The son's bedroom)

    Very sad but nice movie.

  • @filhippo That's where I heard it for the first time. And it never left me since!

  • "you talk to me as if from a distance, and I reply with impressions chosen from another time..." this is sheer inspiration, pure clarity - it's the spiritual successor to the line "I stand on the beach giving out descriptions different for everyone I see" Brian Eno at his best is profound almost without compare

  • who is the dick head that doesn't like it?

  • @SriSathySaiBaba Gordon Brown at a guess.

    so but this is original?

  • Brian Eno musically related to Erik Satie.

  • looks like a lullaby

  • Music to think to.

  • One of my favourite of ever

  • This is one of the best songs ever made.

  • I had only listened to the Yoshida Brothers' cover before this... Sounds strange without shamisen playing, but it's still just as soothing on piano!

  • A situation like this happened to me somewhere in the Andes mountains years ago...this song brings me back!

  • I heard it today in a nice Mexican movie "y tu mama tambien", beautiful song!!!

  • I've listened to this track hundreds of times now and i still find it fresh and real. My daughter walks in and says "why do you listen to that dad its so sad".... 'but its not" I reply - with impressions chosen from another time, time time time..from another time.

  • Just fantastic! I could listen to this album and 'Here come the warm jets' almost every day. They don't make 'em like Eno anymore :-(

  • @upyerrzzz1 Cutest comment EVER.

  • very nice, though I prefer Martin Gore's version ^^ question of taste

  • it is a song with a meaning, that is what i am meaning to be saying here, and i meant it

  • ...from another time.

  • Melancholy in the best possible way.

  • Brian Eno has the ability to make the good parts of GYBE! songs into a couple of minutes of genius ambient music.

  • beauty

  • anche io uso questo metodo più antiquato!

    belissima canzone

    anche il film è belissimo

  • One of my favorite songs. Just amazing to listen to.

  • He operates on a level of genius, that precious few others occupy.

  • i'm cry

  • bellissima!!! il sound ha qualkosa di magico che ti cattura e ti apre nuovi orizzonti!!!

  • genious!

  • Let me try to tell you the meaning of this song to me..I used to say that I cried so many tears into the Detroit river it should have been salt water by now...A marrigae took place there, a marrige ended there, truths were told there that could have broken the hardest of hearts.."you talk to me as if from a distance, and I reply with impressions chosen from another time, time, time from another time. That river holds secrets..The song is to Steven..who will never forgive me. Kate

  • @WKaliberr Thanks for uploading. This is such a beautiful track, love it!

  • Living Legends

  • just an amazing song what can i say brian eno, the most influential artists !!

  • The ONLY one who disliked is certainly deaf.

  • It´ s from Roedelius and Eno

  • It´ s from Roedelius and Eno

  • Y Tu Mamá También brought me here

  • One person is Brian Ferry.

  • They don't sound like bells to me. It's more of a steel-on-steel sound.

  • The very faint faraway "anvil" sound is so fucking brilliant. . . It places a world around the singer. I've always considered this to be absolute genius.

  • @raymondpeckiii /they're bells, aren't they, being tapped? Like a Buddhist monastery

  • OMG! ELE NAO TEM ORELHA =O

  • la stanza del figlio

  • awesome song. the first time i heard it, i went to thinking stage of mind

  • One of the most soothing songs ever

  • @AFirmKickInThePants as soothing as as a last ever blowjob while youre on the pillow made of clouds, with a smell of cookies and honey while an angel is playing harp next to you

  • @WKaliberr not what I had in mind actually but I'm glad it works that way for you

  • what an interesting response....

  • @WKaliberr so poetic

  • @WKaliberr - One of the most epic things I've ever heard in my life.

  • @WKaliberr if you think this is heaven you should listen to the yoshida brothers rendition

  • @mrmy agreed.

  • @WKaliberr Well said.

  • @WKaliberr ha ha ha,brilliantly put sir.

  • i love you, maggi <3

  • did eno write the original song?

  • @flosula Eno did everything.

    Except vocals.

  • Roedelius did the background melodie and Eno the vocals

  • great mood !

  • someone please tell me the song meanings to this

  • @ZoomZip lets start with this: what do YOU think its about?

  • @WKaliberr i think it's about the purpose of existence?

  • @ZoomZip Your thinking too hard. It's right in front of you

  • @ZoomZip

Majority of Eno's lyrics are improvised or use stream of conciousness, since he would sing nonsense into the mic, play it back and then make words out of it. So they're not usually meant to mean something, but to describe an atmosphere or to fit the song. He builds the lyrics around the song, rather than build the song around the lyrics.

  • @ZoomZip It is very unusual song, you could feel it different from others so it will mean differently to others...For me, I feel he is in love but he and his lover from different world they stay in their place although the life is moving like a river they stay love each other but Underneath a sky that's ever falling down..Mean with no hope, they stay together all the day as the day has no end, they don’t feel the time, TPC

  • @ZoomZip , (Waiting here, Always failing to remember why we came, came, came: I wonder why we came) over all the problems still they meet each other no matter why... (You talk to me as if from a distance And I reply With impressions chosen from another time)..That much they are far in their thoughts from each other although their hearts are linked together.....and that is love love love

  • Does anyone know where I can get sheets for music created by Brian Eno?

  • I first heard it in the movie "Stanza del filgio" (Son's Room). It was 5th or 6th April 2010. I kept listening that song every day, feeling more and more sad... and April 10th the plane with the Polish president and many nice people on board crashed... noone survived.

  • I heard this song in TV, I grabbed a pen and wrote 2 lines of the song in my arm and i googled them. first it didn't work out, then I found it.

Now I'm enjoying this beautiful melody.

  • I love this song. I first heard it in "The son's room". It's used wonderfully in that film. I highly recommend it. Great song! Great film!

  • I first heard it in the Son's Room and It;s used beautifully. Love this Song.
