how many people really need to say "use a hps youll get better results"? thats basic shit.. some people dont want the loud, hot, costly hps light runnin all day and making it obvious what theyre doing. i have a 5 x 18 = 100W in a 900x600 with 3 ladies in there they do just fine i find that in veg u need more lights the better few lower on the back as on top but in budding 5 lights works a treat 3 up top obove each one put one at back mid down for good growth for the bottoms or just pinch and bend the plant trust me a day at time they grow back u end up with more crowns hope it work

I use at least 10, 23 watt, 1,600 lumens CFL'S Per Plant (During Flower) Hands down the more light the more you can yeild...Along with proper Nutrients you can yeild a minimum of 1oz per plant.. Happy Growing =)

Don't put the lights closer if your goin 13 hours long it will fry the shit out of the plant. My setup is similar to yours except I have a 24 inch fan keeping the stems moving and keeping the heat off the plants. But I think overall your lookin pretty good. Happy budding :)

They look starved for light, all long and skinny. look how far your internode spacing is. Possibly not enough Nitrogen during the Veg stage either. Your lights need to be closer, less than a foot, preferably 2 inches. Study up on lumens and Lux and you will learn that a bulb at 2 feet looses 75% lumen efficiency.

yeah you can use pretty much anything. you wont get very much bud off the plant though. check into t5 bulbs. they are cheap and do alot better. go to home depot or lowes type stoer to get the ballests for them and go to you local grow shop to get the red bulbs. the grow shop will charge you more for the light itself

Ive been trying to do the same thing...the biggest ive seen at home depot or lowes is 250 watt MH or 150 watt HPS, and all of them are security fixtures for the outside of ur house and it has to be wired in not plugged in...i would just look on ebay or amazon for a used light i got a 400 watt hydrofarm sunburst for 150.00 hope this helps

you can get a 68wattcfl=500watt mh lights of america light at walmart for 26bucks yes you have to put a plug on it but walmart sells the plugs right next to the lights for 7bucks ..easy 2 wires and electrical tape

Why? The security hps and mh lights there are fine. They have a photo sensor unit. Cover the sensor and it wont shut off till your timer allows it at the ac plug. You can wire it to a 3 prong plug (and how ever much cord you want) and run it off home current from the wall. Not sure what your talking about.

You can have them as close as 1-2 inches away.. The thing is that if you have your light to far away from the plant... the plant stretches.. You want the plant short and bushy ... I had some problems with my plants stretching too....

have you heard of putting the light cycle to 10 on 14 off a week before harvest? the decrease in temperature should make the plant produce more resin as a defense mechanism in order to stay warmer? not sure if it'll work but imma try.
