THIS ONE OF MANY OVERLOOKED 'GEMS' [AN OVERUSED WORD] BY CHIC Inc. THE DEBBIE HARRY LP STILL SOUNDS WEEIRD 2 ME THO ITS LIKE IT NEED MORE BACKING VOCALS OR SOMETHING LOVELY DEMOS LOL I JUST FOUND OUT THAT - 'When You Love Someone' ANOTHER PERSONAL FAV I FELL IN LOVE WITH MORE ON HOLIDAY WAS A BSIDE NO WONDER 'CHIC'S OUT PUT WAS A LITTLE 'PATCHY' 2WARDS THE END MORE INTEREST IN DEBBIE BOWIE JODY ETC??? ' I'M HEAR FOR U 2 ENJOY' FABULOUS STUFF WHITNEY MARIAH ZZZ FECK OFF
It's too bad there Norma Jean didn't have a second album. Originally, this and the hit "High Society" were to be released along with other tracks on an album. Chic produced so many great songs for Norma Jean, Sheila B. Devotion, and Diana Ross...
I like this groove. I'm a huge Chic fan since 1978, especially of Bernard Edwards. I've never heard this song before. I find myself listening to it over and over.
Nice vibe and great sound, another well-done song by a group of very talented, highly-skilled musicians. Will we ever see their kind again in our lifetime? Even if the music may sound different, the skill and abilities represented by so many musicians of the 60s-mid 80s is rare, especially in that which is commercially successful now. Hang the sales and bring us real music again. Those who appreciate it will buy it.
never heard this. it sounds great if i never heard it and it sounds this great it probably was overlooked and never was a hit. great going norma you are a wonderful person hope you are doing well wherever you are.
They should erect statues of Bernard Edwards and Nile rodgers in Brooklyn and the Bronx respectively, better still in Times Square. They were purveyors of Black American Music.
This is a another very sexy Chic composition, with Norma Jean. I cant remember when they produced this album, I think it was after their 'Risque' LP in 79'.
I still find it mind-boggling as to just not only how talented, but how versatile Chic and its musicians/singers were. This is a very pretty song; if this is representative of the rest of the album, it's worth looking for.
and love this song, haha I am 22 and a few years ago my sister accidently got a hold of her album and played it for me and this song forever stayed on my mind. I have been trying to get a copy of it but its so hard to find :| at least I can listen to on youtube for the time being.. blah I just want an mp3 of it but I still want the vinyl of it too. Thanks for posting this.
I think its nice when you discover a new song just when you thought you had heard all Chics productions, up pops another to go wow at.
The cd is very rare, selling at £60 odd English pounds last time I looked, dont know if the price has gone down but worth every penny if you can get hold of it.
