@MrZayd28 i think we went for a few reasons. first was because we wanted to look like we where supporting the US in the hope we would get trade concessions off them for wool and lamb just like the US was giving the Japs at the time. the next reason was that the north was terrorising south civilians so they would vote to join back up with the north to make one vietnam.the last was because of the "domino effect" that you where talking about. this was made up by the US with their cold war fears.
I never went to Vietnam. I missed out by 1 day 4th,5th,6th,7th,8th and 10th of June. I don't know to this day whether I was lucky or unlucky but that's'beside the point. According to some of the stories I've heard the pictures are pretty much to the point. I did join the Australian in March of 75 around 9 months after naso ended. I can still here the people that had no idea what was going on screaming "Stop the war, bring our troops home" and the same screams are still heard today
@martinps3 not a weapon,it was a plant poison. it rid trees of leaves and killed underbrush. this made it easier to provide fire support. (though i dont think any soldier would complain if it killed charlie) i just wish we hadnt left so many mines and undetonated bombs there. (im american) MIA/POW never forgotten
@Browsey1994 Again to the point that"s what people need to learn. Did we need to be there NO did we go YES. In Australia''s case we could be under VC control that"s why Australia when
@kinggee02 Your absolutely correct we didn't need to be there. We never had a problem with the North Veitnamese attacking Australia that suggestion is ridiculous.
We followed America then like we are so blindly now and Aussies are paying for it with their lives. The song is inspirational but just ask a Veitnam Vet how they felt about this war and their lives when they returned, to me it says that we should never put our boys in that position again unecessarily but we have.
I agree with you on the title (which I explained in the explanation of the video). Regarding the 'Agent Orange Sunset'- I think you will find that there is some dispute over this lyric and that the original intent was 'Asian Orange' (although both make perfect sense!)

The title is "walk in the Light Green", and it's Agent Orange, not Asian. Otherwise it's a great vid.
