I am a fairly new pipe smoker and have started collecting. I am having a blast with it. Thank you so much for these videos, they are as imformative as they are fun to watch.
Hi: I smoked Flying Dutchman back in the 60's, the reproduction FD blend that I got at my tobacconist is the same as the original. All the Best, The Count
Hi PipemanAustria, Thank you for the suggestion. I will deffinately give them a try. Some of those tobaccos can really get "juicy" and I see how the filter could come in handy. Best regards - Tim
Hi guys, another enjoyable video! I love the father/son teamwork! It was my pleasure to get those pipes to you; I look forward to serving you in the future. I'm also very grateful for the positive review and feedback. Keep up the great work!
Hi David: Many thanks for the super service, and the compliments. The pipes are off the charts, you have excellent tase, as confimed by the comments from the Pipe Smoking Fraternity so far. My son and I are looking foward to seeing your latest vids and website posts. Hats Off to a True Gentleman, All the Best, The Count
Hi: I like the perique and Virginia in Escudo, but not for breaking in a pipe. While natual, perique is too moist for beaking in a pipe (the raw briar is too water absorbent), and Viginia is too "bitey" to handle the wood smoke from the burning of the briar. Boswell's Majestic 583 is what I am going to demonstrate. Great heaing from you, thanks for the pipe compliments, All the Best, The Count
Hi: I smoke Dunhills, but don't mention this as I don't want to "High-hat" the community. Perique is not going to dry out enough to be useful in breaking in a pipe, much less a super premium pipe like a Dunhill. If you watched my 1;00AM VIDEO I say "You can ruin a good pipe vey fast". Moist burning tobaccos are death to the new briar in the heel of a pipe, the heel may never entirely "cake" properly. Go with an all natual, slightly dry, mild tobacco. Best of Luck, The Count
Great video, guys! -- and lovely pipes! I looked at them on Davids site, I really think that yellow stemmed racer is awesome. Great to have you around, Phreaks.
Hi: Many thanks for the complimens. My turn now, your taste in pipes parallels mine closely. I love the "natural" matte finish and beautiful proportions of your pipes. You did a great job with the 1 L pipe, and your own work is supeb. You truly have the eye of an Artiste. Best Regads, The Count
Hi Eric, Thanks for the comment. We went with the Majestic 586 because of the toasted Cavendish which rounds out the flavor. We are really looking forward to lighting these babys up!
That is a fine idea indeed. I am really looking forward to your thoughts and wisdom concerning the breaking in of new pipes...as I am going to be receiving a pipe from a New Zealand craftsman and want to properly break it in, but alas I don't have any " natural tobacco " to do so.
Guys, those pipes are amazing. David showed me them and I about lost it. They are truly a work of art. BTW, what was that blend that Dan recommened using to break in a pipe...my money is on Boswell's Premium Burley, but then again I could be wrong. Great video.

Hi Count
Thanks for the quick reply, I have been rubbing out the Escudo & letting it dry a bit before loading/smoking.
Need to try out some of the Boswell blends
Thanks - Brian
