If Democrats use race as a strategy it may unify Dems, but it can scare away independent whtie voters who voted for Obama. Those independents will turn and go to the GOP column. I'm a Conservative purist, if I were in the US, I would probably be a Paul or Sanders advocate and mostly vote independant due to the lack of real Conservative candidates in your country... Actually, many of them went by her experience. As a matter of fact, the biggest thing that turned a lot of people off to her is her open admission that race should be considered when making a judgement, and her application of that belief. Another bold-faced conservative lie. I've heard people on the right call President Obama "uppity" and another called him "boy", just to name a few. Those aren't honest mistakes, not coincidence. Glenn Beck gives us more and more evidence everyday that he's a racist. The people at Fox News will be held accountable when one of their brain-dead viewers does something terrible because of the hateful rhetoric spread by guys like Hannity and Beck. Conservatives have become domestic terrorists.

I don't respect any argument that is not engaged with honesty towards facts. I disagree with Ron Paul on almost everything, but he has clearly thought through and reasoned the facts... I disagree with his position, but I respect it.
A debate engaged honestly will either give you a renewed sense of the correctness of your view, or an expanded view of the issue... both are good.

Beck once did a skit on Fox News where he doused a 'liberal' with gasoline and immolated him. Listening to these bums on the Far Right brings me back to my college days when I had to watch Nazi propaganda films in history class.

I'm actually very interested in American politics, although I'm a Brit. I must say, though, this kind of things would NEVER happen on British TV, I suppose simply because we don't have the heavily partisan stations that exist in the States.
It's horrendous that a huge swathe of the populace look to Fox to provide their 'news'. And what's worse is that the poor, uneducated types who drink this stuff in are the very same people shouting about wanting higher healthcare insurance. Crazy times.
