In quads four stroke is much more versaltile for farm work. They are also quieter and more economical. And if tuned correctly can perform high speed aswell. For motorbikes it's a different story maybe. There's no point just saying''this stroke sucks'' it's about what you want it for of course. Each machine was built for a purpose. But for practicality Four stroke wins for me. We are all intitled to our own opinion and ive given mine. Nothing against Two strokes they serve their purpose well.

@homefly9200 ehh the old 4strokes will go decades on thier original engines, not so much with these new "modern" 4strokes. the new 250f's and 450f's have sooo much maintenance its outrageous. valve adjustment after valve adjustment and when it comes time to do a bottom end or head work, kiss your bank account goodbye haha. i have a cr250 and i just did a top and bottom end and transmission rebuild and had my cylinder replated...all for $600. not too bad if you ask me
@storm5013 it may feel like 4strokes have more torque but if you look at a dyno chart the 2strokes have more. 4strokes just have better bottom end power which is often thought of as torque but in fact they are 2 different things. 2stroke bottom end power absolutely sucks i will give you that haha

the terms bottom, mid, and top end are just different areas of the rpm range in an engine's overall powerband. horsepower and torque are the measure of how much useable power and turning force the engine is capable of achieving

Lookin to get a yz250. and its true the 2 stroke is a lot more fun to ride, greater response when you hit that throttle since you get a power stroke every 180 degrees that crank spins as opposed to getting it every full turn on a 4 stroke.. more maintenance but hey, its worth it!

false false, a 450 4 stroke is slower then a 2 stroke it goes 120 km/h and the 250 2 stroke goes 143 kmh, but the 4 stroke has more low end torque and the 2 stroke has a high rev power band on a short strech the 2 stroke will be a lil bit behind but once the 4 stroke reach the high gear the 2 stroke will eat it any day
@sLeDjUnKeEz I have a CR 250 and a ktm 450 and unless you have an enduro transmision the 450 will go 115 to 120 kmh the 250 will hit 140 + kmh unless modification ofc and with mods the 250 has a lot more potential then the 450 but wont be as realible as the 450 but the 450 has ton of low end torque its a torque machine not a high rev machine

@gamohunter1995 120lbs is very very light for a 450.. a 250 4 stroke recommnends 150-165 lbs depending on brand but if you are experienced and still growing a lot then i guess you would eventually be ok on either as long as you take it real easy on that 450
i paused the vid at 0:03 to see which bike got the lead and there it was, the bike with the fat expansion chamber and the front wheel 2ft in the air ! :-)
4 strokes generally have more torque so you don't always have to downshift as much in the corners and shit, but if you ride a 2 stroke you have to stay in that powerband by constantly shifting into the right gear-I like that better.

@homefly9200 ehh the old 4strokes will go decades on thier original engines, not so much with these new "modern" 4strokes. the new 250f's and 450f's have sooo much maintenance its outrageous. valve adjustment after valve adjustment and when it comes time to do a bottom end or head work, kiss your bank account goodbye haha. i have a cr250 and i just did a top and bottom end and transmission rebuild and had my cylinder replated...all for $600. not too bad if you ask me

the terms bottom, mid, and top end are just different areas of the rpm range in an engine's overall powerband. horsepower and torque are the measure of how much useable power and turning force the engine is capable of achieving

I need to upgrade to a 2 stroke, i have a 4 stroke ttr 230 right now.. NEED MORE POWER. Lookin to get a yz250. and its true the 2 stroke is a lot more fun to ride, greater response when you hit that throttle since you get a power stroke every 180 degrees that crank spins as opposed to getting it every full turn on a 4 stroke.. more maintenance but hey, its worth it!

What you watched was a 250 R model vs an X model now witch one was made for racing and for enduro? 2stroke will win in short distance when you pit these bikes together but the 450X will win in the long run... i know since ive ridden one with stock gearing and it flogged my RMX250 99 model with acceleration and topend. guy on the 450 could of done better (i know ive ridden that bike 07 model). It looks like the guy on the CR250 could use all its power with confidence, so id put my money on him. If a guy can ride his bike handle and use all its power chances are pretty good he will beat you. I have a husky wr300 2011 model and i could ride my 250 smoker alot faster but i'll get there on the 300 just more respect for the throttle. love 2 strokes :) alltho the xr's will always be the best 4 stroke

false false, a 450 4 stroke is slower then a 2 stroke it goes 120 km/h and the 250 2 stroke goes 143 kmh, but the 4 stroke has more low end torque and the 2 stroke has a high rev power band on a short strech the 2 stroke will be a lil bit behind but once the 4 stroke reach the high gear the 2 stroke will eat it any day

@sLeDjUnKeEz I have a CR 250 and a ktm 450 and unless you have an enduro transmision the 450 will go 115 to 120 kmh the 250 will hit 140 + kmh unless modification ofc and with mods the 250 has a lot more potential then the 450 but wont be as realible as the 450 but the 450 has ton of low end torque its a torque machine not a high rev machine

4 strokes generally have more torque so you don't always have to downshift as much in the corners and shit, but if you ride a 2 stroke you have to stay in that powerband by constantly shifting into the right gear-I like that better.

@ciaremfe Nowadays 4 stroke's are almost not compareable against 2 strokes the 50% rule doesn't count anymore. 4 stroke engines have become much stronger as more researche has been put into them. I'm not saying a 250 4t will have more hp then a 250 2t but. But comparing a 250 4t to a 125 2t is bullshit nowadays.
You still have the amazing powerband on a 2t but remember a 4t may have 4 cycle's your still using a piston wich is 2 times "bigger".
