  • Nice Jam!!

  • ahhhh i pray i can play like that one day....gotta go grab a geetar ... later

  • I like the orange guitar and the yellow amplifier.

  • Very nice !!!

  • generic but better than most on here

  • srv goin

  • Hi! Nice one mate! Watch mine : watch?v=b_vb0Ebmixs

  • My my man with the stratocaster is killing it dude! Dude my man Carl is a BEAST

  • My my man with the strat is killing it dude! Dude my man Carl is a BEAST

  • My my man with the strat is killing it dude!

  • zindagi kay mazay agayay bhenchod

  • 10 !! :D !!!!!!!!!

  • thats what i am calling clean sound....

  • Right it's a Esquire...1 pick up

  • Looks like Dave is playing an Esquire, not a Telecaster.

  • does anyone dislike telecasters tone as much as i do?

    very.... sharp and pointy...

  • This almost makes me regret i bought a Les Paul... damn... :D

  • That's all you need.

  • the guy on the left isnt really keeping good time with his feet :L

  • I love the riff Carl plays at 1:52. Go man, go!

  • that dave guy has horrible timing. no rhythm, no groove. graggin all over the place... no offence people.

  • I kinda think the Telecaster has a sound made for Blues...it has that twang.

While the Fender, which could also be used for Blues, is probably better suited for Hard Rock.

  • musicalrelease the telecaster is a fender guitar the guitars are both fenders

and the stratocaster isn't the best choice for heavy rock you want something with humbuckers for that

  • Thanks, but I know there both Fender made...

    Strat

    Tele

    Esquire

    Jaguar

    JazzMaster

While Gibson makes Les Pauls, Flying V, GS, etc...

I just got a question...I'm kinda new to the guitar world...

What type of guitar would you recommend for someone who loves Hendrix, SRV, BB King...loves Blues Rock, but loves to jam Hard Rock, some Metal, some Reggae, etc...???

  • I would reccomend an hss strat also known as a fat strat, you get the single coil sounds for srv and hendrx but you can also get hard rock and some metal tones from the bridge humbucker.

  • So a Fat Strat would be a good "all around guitar"???

Thats kinda what I'm goin for, cause I love to play everything from the low down depressing blues to loud head banging Metal of Black Sabbath.

  • Yea fat strats are very versitile, you should go to a guitar store and try one out so you could see what it wwould sound like

  • yead dude get a fat strat and then get a coil tap on the humbucker so you can get both that bridge humbucking thick sound, or the single coil sound you would get out of a regular strat

  • les paul with p90s but if u play alot of blues a strat

  • Strat. You can pedal those Metal tones on a strat, you're not gonna pedal those Hendrix/SRV blues tones very well with something else. With that much variety, you will have some trade off, but the strat is probably the best compromise.

  • Actually I use a American Tele for metal with the stock pickups and it sounds great! Check out the Youtube user Fireball69, he has some videos playing his 52' Reissue Tele for metal. You don't necessarily NEED humbuckers, you just need good amp, check it out! :)

  • You are absolutely correct. Teles rule the earth.

  • twang made for country

  • In the right you have the scales and mind,

in the left you have the blues and heart ;-)

  • yeah they're both good at playing, and i also know it, 'cause i play blues myself, but the guy to the left is definitely the best ;)

  • This Carl guy is such a scale whore.

  • lol yes... but he's still good ;)

  • @jonny1251 they are both playing scales. neither one of them ran up and down scales either. carl arpeggiated implied jazz harmony though. thats the sign of a highly accomplished player. i wouldnt dare knock either of these players.

  • ThePeckey, what are you talking about. The guy on the left, he plays the more delta blues version? He's doing it on purpose....

  • embarassing for the guy on the left. how do you follow carl verheyen?

  • That's true. Carl's playing is unique but also his tone.

  • ya just close your eyes and hope for the best! ha ha

  • These two are absolutely amazing. Can't get enough!!!

  • Carl Verheyen for prez. No more recession the way he plays.

  • Dang, he has the strat I want...

Daphne blue body with a rosewood fretboard...

  • OMG!! Fantastic! Allthough the right guy is freaking awesome!!! Wow!

  • waht `s the song called???help~

  • Don't think its a particular song, its just a blues jam in key of... Whatever, wish it was a original song to :)

  • i don't think its a song, i think its just improve, kinda like a Jam

  • the song is called the twelve bar blues...

  • @niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick yep, most covered song of all time lol.

  • It's just a blues jam in the key of G..

  • Brilliant. Thanks for posting.

  • nice jam

the tone on the esquire is amazing

  • not 2 shabby but its kind of like watching 2 guys jerk off together (i would imagine)

  • It is intimidating playing with Carl (poor Dave Hunter). It took many guitar lessons with Carl before I could finally loosen up around him.

  • FENDER.

  • give him a break he's a country player!

  • Sweet tones on both ends!

That blonde esquire and sonic blue strat are the archetypal guitar to me still....

  • amazing tone coming out of that tele

  • it's an esquire.

  • That's the way it was meant to be done, both guitars into the same amp. Very historical.

  • Not into the same amp, but quite cool nonetheless.

  • Great, great sounds and great playing, too!

    Vintage stuff is the best!

By the way, the sonic blue Strat is for a sale, maybe?

    Price?

  • Just catching up here... so true what was said earlier - I'm NOT a blues player at all (I'm a country twanger) but Carl set the mood and the grooves, and I was surprised (and a little off guard) to find he wanted me to solo a little too. Ouch! But fun. Cheers, Dave

  • he has an esquire It only has one pickup

  • A-w-e-s-o-m-e =O

  • Omg this is AWERSOME !

  • Dude. Don't ever speak again. Telecasters rock.

  • haha indeed. these guys look like they are just kids in a garage having fun, that's what i love about it. oh and those sweet vintage Fenders of course!

  • agree

  • u got to love the twang. fenders the only brand that can do that. it isnt even a telecaster!! its an esquire. shows wot u know about guitars

  • nice groove

  • can dave hunter play a blues? i don't think so he's so bad.. carl u r da best

  • legendary blues jam

  • dude is that johnny damon

  • @aclay1919 hahaha it does look like a really scrawny version of him doesnt it.

  • I love the very PC way Carl reacts to Atuneality

  • holy out-of-tune...

  • blues is never perfect

  • playing out of tune isnt cool or stylish, its annoying as shit.

  • and so are you. these dudes are some kickass guitarist, they can play however they so please.

  • for the record, verheyen is in tune, its the other guy. and if you honestly think playing out of tune is acceptable, go fuck yourself and enjoy your non-musician day job. what kind of idiot thinks that can actually be rationalized?!? that kind of shit gets you fired from studio gigs in a split second...dumbass

  • dude, chill out, what are they supposed to do, stop in the middle of the video and tune? for all we know there is a problem with the tele, neck isnt aligned whatever.

  • well it just bugs me that this is supposed to be a "fender bible" and they cant even have a set up done on the guitar before hand? and then on top of that people think its ok to play out of tune. sorry for being a prick, really i am. but tuning issues really are inexcusable, especially at the level these guys are at...

  • To me it just sounds like he is bending into half-step intervals, giving it the sound that he is terribly out of tune...

That is just what I hear...:P

  • Mick Jagger has done pretty well for himself singing out of tune...

  • carl is out of tune too u dummy.. listen when he starts playing rhythm lol

  • Hahaha I love how so many hobbysits try to ratonalize sloppy playing and out of tune playing as "feel" or "soul".

  • damn, thats waaaaay out!!

  • both are great, i like the telecaster better here, but alas, theres one above all, his name is blackmore, see made in japan,, or nobody,s perfect, both awesome live albums, no one has ever been able to touch him, he,s the master of all guitars, an got a beautiful woman too, love em both,.cant play much purple, too difficult still, maybe black night, smoke on the water, even lazy will trip you up,, try an see.better yet, kentucky woman solo, kinda country, very difficult, try an see, not me.

  • The playing sure is awsome, but boy are they out of tune!!! ouch!

  • 1:50 - 2:00 hell Yeah!

  • hey man, what's up with this "who destroyed\killed\owned who" mentality spreading throughout the internet. This is not counter strike, it's music. It's about having joy out of it no matter what level you're on and always improving. You are free to feel that some guys playing is better than others, but it has nothing to with a competition or "killing"/"destroying"

they both play with passion and feel, regardless of eventual differences in technical proficiency. that's the way i hear it

  • haha i love how u mentioned counter strike. hahah

  • Verheyen killed that poor guy playing the tele. Not that he was bad, but dang.

  • Yeah man I agree. Carl destroyed him. I was surprised to hear that the guy was out of tune around a master like Verheyen...

  • right, say somethin good or shut up, right arm, i mean on.

  • that tele sounds hot

  • I like the Telecaster's, I think that's Dave, phrasing and style better. But both are great.

  • natural simple blues,,,greetings from Kielce

  • Strat tone as it should be. Uncomplicated, straight into the amp so you can hear the player's personality coming through. Listen to how little reverb he has on the amp. Too much reverb can destroy good tone. May we all learn for Carl.

  • the best things about those guys playing is the tone. clean and honest, just 2 guitars straight into a good amp.

  • very good

  • Dave:

Do you have any clips of the two stroke amp? If not, there could be several with different tubes, etc. I made one with 2 10" Weber alnicos, but I've been curious what your setup sounds like.
