I understand the anger one feels when somebody chooses another person instead of you, I can identify with the heartbreak. But some people are gay and it's about time the world would just let them be. If they would've stayed together they would both be miserable. She was with him either because she's Bisexual or she was in denial. Now that she's happy and true to herself, I think he should just let her be. And no, the girl obviously can't be her man- but she doesn't need a man! She needs a woman!

By the chorus we can understand, that, yes, the other girl can understand her as a lover, a friend, and a mother, because women think alike and understand each other, but she can never give her the love and security that he, as a man, does.That's what I understand of it.

as everyone must know cornell was always somewat of a softy, rather than manly. this song emphasizes how much he needs that manly part of him. and he looks to "her" for it but he realizes it cant be done. "she can be your lover, she can be your friend... but she'll never be your man" cuz she cant, he's the man he has to fill that role but he cant.. thats what the song is about

audioslave in my opinion is the peak of his brilliance, his solo albums vary, i found scream was more synth/techno than the other 2 solo albums, sound garden was good, altogether i enjoy listening to all 3

thanks for putting this song up. I love it. I only recently rediscovered Carry On, and I like it a lot more than I did before. It still sounds a little rushed, but it has some great moments.

To those that only like Soundgarden/ Audioslave, Its just the style. He's great in his three albums, but have to be able to appreciate different kinds of music. Scream and Carry On have amazing songs and vocals, and Euphoria Morning is Cornell's best work IMO.

1: scream is not his first solo album, he has also made 'carry on' which imo is a lot better.

2: both solo albums are good if you're not too busy being caught up in the past... audioslave and soundgarden were amazing, but that doesn't make his never works bad...

i wasn't into music when he was in soundgarden and i have yet to listen to all of their stuff but from what i have heard i like audioslave and his solo stuff better. i will say that my music preference is simple riff rock and dance music, though.

and edited it scene by scene, so that it would sync from scene to scene.
