I would like to add a link to the source for the audio i used to make this movie but youtube will not let me add it to this post I had this video for many years and discovered the audio source late last year. I was not the first one with the idea to put the two together.
@1016vortex As I recall, the audio was from a tape player left on in a hotel that recorded the tornado up until the moment that the building was struck.
Boyd's video is outstanding. That took a lot of courage to stand there. Or maybe he had realized it was survive or die being that close and he just decided to go for it... Either way, I agree with AJTwister97, that is the most (and best quality) up-close footage I had ever seen of that tornado.
This is Bruce Boyd's film of the Xenia tornado in it's entirety! I used to have this on VHS. WHIO-TV Channel 7 in Dayton made this by combining Boyd's silent super8mm film with a separate audio-only recording. Film and audio are not synched, but the idea was to give the viewer some idea of both the sight and sound of the tornado. Thanks so much for posting this!
@longlakeshore Thank you so much for uploading the whole version of this film. It is fascinating. But I also know that it is the cause of so much death and destruction in Greene county, Ohio. We must never forget what the citizens of Xenia went through that day.
the xenia as well as the oklahoma city, guin, jordan and jarrell tornadoes are among the most powerful ever recorded. makes me shiver....

Is the audio real? This footage has always been among the best ever shot (given the power of this monster)! Thanks for posting! MAGNIFICENT!!

i I was born on April 8, 1974, I think that's why I appreciate tornadoes in documentaries and news!
