Lot of answers for my simple comment. Let's see: I have raced with my C5 Corvette (940hp) against to RS6 (about 720hp was measured). In FINLAND there are speed limiters in 255km/h (I know, I have model 2007 S6 Audi). Anyway: in race between Corvette and Audi, that RS6 made EXACTLY same thing like this one in video. Audi was REALLY fast against the C5 but when speed was over ~250km/h...zing. There are differencies in cars, even in same model (country specified). Btw: I KNOW sth about the tuning
@dcombus first of all no tuning car has a speed limiter left on if you have a so called 940hp vette you should know that because that's the first thing chip tuning does is remove speed limiter. MY E55 is tuned and the first thing that was removed was the speed limiter. Every premade tuning software removes speed limiter by default and when you have some one tune you car they remove it why have 700hp car that stops at 160mph?
I hear a lot of people arguing about limiter's and which car has one and which doesn't. That IS relevant to some extent, but what no one seems to factor in is that the Audi has 3.38 final drive(Maybe off a few tenths) where as the Merc. has a final drive of 2.65. Now the higher FD is great for torque multiplication, but it dramatically limits the achievable top speed of any car(Small gear driving a large gear factor) Thats a a bigger factor than a speed limiter IMO.
Audi simply had limiter to 275km/h, you can order car from factory with two different speed limiters - 255 or 275km/h. MTM can remove it completely, but it's up to customer. Audi was winning up to about that 275km/h, witch is impressive coz Merc is tuned as well and it's RWD wich makes it easier to accelerate when doing 200+km/h

That Audi is original BECAUSE: Audi with 730hp will go MUCH faster and is not slowing down in 250km/h. There is still speed limiter in that Audi, MB will pass the Audi after 250km/h very easily. I have seen videos where Audi with 750hp will go 357km/h and comparing times to that Audi and to speed => that Audi is not tuned or the tuning guy has bug somewhere (or the engine is not working properly somehow which is very common).

Even though people say theres no replacement for displacement, these days Forced Induction and other things pretty much make displacement redundant.

Well MTM doesn't change the engine, they tune it and still this engine produces about 75% of its actual capabilities but if the tune it to the MAX, the gearbox, differential etc. won't be able to take it!! For some extra money you could get it up to 770 bhp but that's the top they can get to because after that they don't give you guarantee if something brakes! Mine is like that and I've paid 5k euros+

People struggle to get more than 600 Hp in modified AMG 63 platforms, while the older 55K's are making 700+. Tuners are making more than 800 horses on a 3.7 liter Twin-Turbo Nissan. Even though people say theres no replacement for displacement, these days Forced Induction and other things pretty much make displacement redundant.

it's like 2.0 engine develop 333Nm (or 166Nm per LIter of displacement)
VW Golf R have 2.0 T with 270Hp,350Nm
Also Merc engine is way bigger,6.0 vs 5.0,also in techincal terms audi engine is way better
have higher compression ratio,Direct injection and with less pressure from turbo develop more power per Liter of displacement!

@riz44 The engine of the RS6 is a V10 TT 5.0 with 580 bhp as stock...that's the only engine for this car!!! I have the same piece of engineering in my garage and let me tell you that after 250km/h there is no way that the MB takes off like that and the RS6 slows down like that...!!!!!!! To all the happy MB fans...let me brake your dream..the RS6 driver backed off when he hit 260km/h, that's why the CL won...and it seems to me that the RS6 won the quarter mile for sure...!!!!!!

Well MTM doesn't change the engine, they tune it and still this engine produces about 75% of its actual capabilities but if the tune it to the MAX, the gearbox, differential etc. won't be able to take it!! For some extra money you could get it up to 770 bhp but that's the top they can get to because after that they don't give you guarantee if something brakes! Mine is like that and I've paid 5k euros+
And about the CL...it's lighter, bigger engine,more hp?? Rhetorical question...!!! :)
