I like Farrakhan most of the time. He is very intelligent and I went to both Million Man, Millions More marches, but sometimes his analogies just don't work for me. I was surprised at the reaction of the Black community of the second march when Farrakhan was talking straight about work and responsibility other than rhetoric and the Black community was not impressed! I have not been a devoted follower of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam. But since I am no longer a Jesus freak much less a so called church going Christian I am more open to hear his teaching and sense his love for our people with messages in almost a parabolic sense such as this one! I like Farrakhan most of the time. He is very intelligent and I went to both Million Man, Millions More marches, but sometimes his analogies just don't work for me. I was surprised at the reaction of the Black community of the second march when Farrakhan was talking straight about work and responsibility other than rhetoric and the Black community was not impressed! When you tell them what they REALLY need to hear, they don't want to hear it. It's not that inspiring.

@Kemiztri Yeah, the NOI isn't a religion, but it was necessary to the Civil Rights movement in the 50's and 60's in the North to give some sort of religious direction and empowerment to Blacks who had nothing but hustlers and gangsters running the streets of NY, Chicago and so forth. Louis Farrakhan was Malcolm's apprentice with the name Louis X. Malcolm broke from the Nation when he traveled to Mecca and found out the the NOI was not really true Islam. It was more of a movement.

Jydust, Brother Farrakhan is no fool and although my preference and allegiance sways overwhelmingly to my idol, El-hajj-Malik-El-Shabazz (Malcolm X) I still have a great deal of admiration to MLF. I am a very intelligent and versed Muslim who was approached on a few occasions to join the NOI and become a rank and file member of the renowned Fruit of Islam, but I respectfully declined. I have a sagacious perspective towards Farrakhan because of my love for Malcolm!

Arsenio Hall was a perfect example. You can only go so far when it comes to speaking out against injustice and speaking the truth. They will cut your ass off. These athletes/actors have mouths to feed so disappointing their slave masters/bosses is the LAST thing they're trying to do.

The precise identification of the problems seen through the eyes of Reverend Farrakahn always humbles my intelligence. He has very well recognized that added to the problems that the black community has on her own, such as people losing self-respect and hurting themselves and their own people, come the problems that have been inflicted, such as the pre-exclusion of blacks from the political process by the whites who control the resources. And, yes there are many excellent role-models among Black people in America. Oprah sent millions to Africa to build schools and offer better education to the less privileged there. But, shortly thereafter, there were stories of sex abuses abounding inside the very institutions that Oprah struggled to create. It is very good that the successful Blacks give back to their communities as Rev. Farrakahn does. But, many are angry blacks who do not see that they have their progress in their hands...

A very brilliant man. But, suppose there had never ever been a history of black slavery in the world. Would that have produced a better culture in Africa for black people? Isn't precisely in today's Africa where the worst of xenophobic massacres between tribes are happening? African tribes kill one another with the same vile spirit that drives black people to kill each other in the ghettos. There is a big difference between this man and the people he is trying to drive into the promised land.

You might want to go to the OTHER side of the tracks, and have a look at whose breeding like roaches. Let me give you a hint. There's about thirty million of them and they got no papers, can't speak english, got no car insurance, haven't heard of health insurance except on YOUR dollar and hospital emergency rooms as the primary care physician, and they're probably drunk with a goat in the backyard with some "dingo balls" around it's neck.

If you read MLK's notes and manuscripts (which I have) you will hear the same thing, Martin thought alot of what Malcom and Farrakhan speaks, he was just more political with his words because he was using a different tactic to reach the same goal. Just thought I'd educate you on MLK.
