@MACKFANTI tony got whacked there hundreds of hints. just take alook on the painting behind tony it is the house tony blundetto wanted to tony to enter in his dream and theat house symbolises DEATH
I just watched all 86 episodes again over the period of 3 months...
I bet Chase wanted Tony to die...but in true Tee Vee Network bullshit...HBO probably wouldn't let this happen. Just in case Ganolfini changed his mine, and wanted to act again!!
someone brought up an interesting point about the ending. apperently on the 1st ep of the last season, tony says something on a boat: that when you die.. it just turns black. nothing else.. you just see black. or something like that. does that spark some sort of coincidence or planned?
First episode Tony and Bobby are in the boat talking about what it's like to get hit. Bobby says something like "you'll never hear it coming, everything just goes black". Second to last episode Tony's in bed and thinks about that converstaion again. Tony got hit, thats why it went to black so abrubtly.
Tony was whacked. What kind of ending did people want? Butch Cassidy? It's over! This was the best show on television, face it! There is no happy ending in Sopranoland.
Eight years and it ends with a blank screen...come on. It looks as if David Chase wanted to leave it up to the viewers. Does he get whacked or live happily ever after with his family in Jersey(or as happy as one can be there.) I think Carlo turned over on the Feds and Tony was going to get pinched. Here's my reasoning. The guy that walked to the bathroom had to be a Fed, I mean, he was wearing a Members Only jacket. When was the last time your saw a mob guy wear anything besides a velour track?
This is the ending. I know somebody who was on the set of The Sopranos and this is 99.9% sure this is how it will end. Tony wins the war against Phil and New York. Paulie is dead. The last scene is Tony with Carmela, AJ, and Meadow laughing and having a good time. Dr. Melfi comes through the doors with a gun blows Tony's brains out.
From what I was told this final scene is the one Chase seemed the most interested in and shot the most takes for.

yes. i was just about to say that. someone brought it up and it makes a whole lot of sense, or just big coincidence.
