2pac is overrated. He had some very touching songs, but there are plenty of other rappers who also have them. 2Pac was emotional but that was his style. It doesn't mean he had the best message. I think a lot of times his flow is kinda offbeat. Lyrically he's far from being the best. He had some good verses, but most were average. Even when Pac put out a double CD in 96 he still lost out to OutKast Aliens which took the crown for 96. Tupac was voted GOAT in 2002, not by the fans who were THERE, but by the younger generation born after 1990.

Dude, at first I had my doubts but as I've heard more and more of his work, it's become clear to me he's the closest to the perfect MC we'll probably ever get. His lyrics are unbelievable, so many clever metaphors, ingenious references to mathimatics/physics, ill rhyme schemes and crazy wordplay. To me no one has ever bested them.

2pac is overrated. He had some very touching songs, but there are plenty of other rappers who also have them. 2Pac was emotional but that was his style. It doesn't mean he had the best message. I think a lot of times his flow is kinda offbeat. Lyrically he's far from being the best. He had some good verses, but most were average. And he's not the most influential, that probably was Rakim, he changed the whole game. Not hating, just stating, because I once believed the 2pac hype

He's overrated because for all the deep things he's said he's made songs like hit em up and i get around. 2pac contradicted every positive message his made in his songs. If you say 2pac changed his style on deathrow to sell more well then he's a sellout. The same way Nas and Jay-Z changed their style to sell more. Chuck D and Krs-1 never soldout to sell more albums. They stayed political. They're the real definition of an mc. 2pac said some real things but his demons got the better of him.

Because 2pac contradicted every positive thing he said and once he was on Death Row he was more about attacking other rappers than uplifting his race. Look at 2Pac's music after me against the world. He started out being more political but he changed for the worse as his career went on. There are many rappers who stayed true to the message in their music and 2pac wasn't one of them.
