How about starting a collection to be able to travel to China where this treatment is available? The FDA has rules restricting unproven new treatments and often seems to be overly cautious; they will tell you that the Thalidomide deformations of 40 years ago justify this. But people travel outside the US for unproven treatments all the time.

Please do NOT read KEVIN TRUDEAU's book about how the medical and pharmaceutical companies along with the politicians are in each others' pockets to keep Americans SICK by selling them drugs they don't need, that don't work, that only require MORE drugs that are supposedly given to make the drugs they give you in the first place either work better or combat the negatives of the drugs they said would work. It's a shame that TJ has been denied potentially life saving treatment. Maybe I'm altruistic, but as a med student, I believe in doing what's best for the patient. I HATE the insurance companies that dictate what doctors can and can't do, and drug companies pushing treatments that aren't necessarily the best for the patient.

Well, I also know what it's like to be the patient, and was fortunate in that my doctors were willing to think outside the box. Because of that, they saved my life... a life that was otherwise deemed 'terminal.' I'm healthy today as a result (aside from my current case of pneumonia).

basically it would could down to money- if they dont make money out of it then they wont bother getting it. also cancer research- (a british charity) is rich but dont do anything with the money other than keep it. they havn't bothered buying a tube that can pinpoint cancer like what they have in the US. they can afford it but just dont bother.

I try so hard to get the same message out but you see people are lazy and unless they have experienced the frustraion and pain that our family has by having to deal with it first hand they are just too busy with their lives to think, this could happen to me or someone I love today or tomorrow. It is a huge shame that people dont get it that they need to help others and stand up for their own rights as well. I just know that as one mother of a child with cancer, I can not do it all! It is a lot harder than that, I would actually have to go there, become a resident and then get the treatment. Its basically impossible because until you are considered a resident of their contry you cant get medical treatment and without some form of treatment TJ would die quickly! :-( Hugs xoxo and this was a good question.

As I said they just wont put him on the trial study for it! They hold the golden ruler and the magic wand so to speak JR and believe you me, they know it. Its being kept hush hush for the most part because the other treatment as you can get from the article isnt a million dollars to administer and it seems to have much higher of a sucess rate in the long run and the short run and it makes common sense. Of course not. A family gets cancer to deal with. Everyone almost dies from fear and upset. Every fincial resourse and popular medical approach takes place. My aunt died from bone/brain/ and lung cancer. It's absolute cruelty, and to have a far better and less abraisive treatment then kemo with something as simple as vitamin A and controlled levels of arsenic. Unreal. Surreal. Maybe if enough people jump on this thne they'll start implemwnting in into the states.

I can understand how upset you are...the thing I do not trust about the treatment mentioned in this article is the Arsenic! The article did not say they used it on children...arsenic in a child could be very bad! It is a poison and it kills. A dose given to an adult might be more than a child could survive, and would the dosage needed to kill the cancer be different? I'm keeping TJ in my prayers for you.

Its FDA approved and it would mean a lot of work but there is NO CHEMO that has those kinds of sucess numbers but there are a lot of facts that show that the millions of dollars people are spending with their kids on chemo for the aspects of getting their children into remission, which is no cure with a 5 year after reaching remission life expectancey chemo causes second hand cancers and organ failior and so many other things that this treatment has not shown. hugs good questions though! xoxo

Chemo is evil. I dont think they will ever "cure" cancer or AIDS or any other life threatening diseases. There is no money in the cure, only in the treatments. My dad passed 5 years ago this week, after finishing his course of chemo and radiation for thyroid cancer, he had a heart attack in his sleep. Fight the good fight Peggy, we are all behind you!

I know that at TJs clinic there is a young lady there who is using the chemo for her MS but it is a trial study that they are doing. She makes jokes about being a test subject for them. I do agree that doctors use treatments that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and drug companies are making out like bandits. Diane I have no clue why! I wish I could answer that. I do my best to research these things but I am only one person with a lot of things on my plate as you already know. What I do know is that where TJ is treated the mention of this treatments sets people into some kind of crazy state of mind.
