Where is the police brutality? -- people lie so much. The only brutality was the protestor stomping on the another protestor. If the protestor would have kept from walking into the cops and assaulting the cops the cop would not have to moved the defend them selves.
I applaud the AP coverage of what happened INSIDE the meetings. However the coverage of what was happening outside is total SHIT, "harmlessly" inaccurate and misleading. If you'd like to know what was really going on out there watch my video "IMF WORLD BANK BEAT DOWN". It has more views, ratings, comments and truth than this video and yet does NOT get ranked in a search... this shit does... Maybe the AP should Pay ME to cover such things since I know how.
How sad is that police line... Protecting fascist bankers from the voice of the people. It's one of the problems with fascism, the people who think they have it good stand by and watch the weak fed upon. Or worse... help perpetrate the evil and oppress the desperate unheard masses. But if you want to call them "Anarchists, or racists..." I can't stop you. Unlike some, I believe in the freedom of speech.
Anarchists Encyclopedia ..if it wasnt for them we wouldnt have the country we live in today try really reading some literature about things instyead of what youy werre told is right and wrong ....
IMF/BIS are the criminals of the world. World currency and world governance from the IMF/BIS is NOT what the world needs. I don't want to be a slave to a un-elected, above every country laws, and dictatorship called the IMF/BIS. Criminals are getting away with ruling the world, and no one really seems to care.
Times are bad so the angry mobs want someone or some group/s to blame.
However most of our so-called "civilized or developed" societies and governments have (since the 80's), and continue to be broken in terms of providing well being, peace, prosperity, liberty, justice, freedom and equality for all.
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" or "Do unto others what you would not have them do to you", choose.
hundreds of thousands of protesters protest peacefully at the tea parties and they are either being held up for ridicule or they are all but ignored by the MSM. a pathetic one hundred show up to violently protest the IMF and the MSM is all over it. nope, i see no media bias there.
... well, you said it yourself. These guys clashed with the police, while the tea parties were peaceful. People are way more interested when things get rowdy.
those protesters are misguided. they call them selves anarchists but want more government....wtf is that about. if they wanted violence they got it. they got sprayed with mace and some kid got a broken leg.
It's about corporate power being the dominant power centers...government, in the short run, at least offers a public facility, w/ potential for being trained on public needs...& at a minimum, the idea is to call out the corporate shilling carried out by this 'convention' of IMF and Central Bank poobahs.
Unlike the Teabaggers' Balls, lefty-libertarian protest knows what it's there for.
i was there and they claim to be anarchists, ins't anarchy no government? how can you be an anarchist that wants more government? seems like T-baggers aren't the only ones that need to figure out what the are protesting about. I understand what you say most people don't like getting tea-bagged, but i guess its better than a donkey punch from the left.
"anarchism is about no goverment and what anarchist in this video wants goverment" <-- I think this just proved my point. Can an Anarchist still be considered an Anarchist if he/she wants more government? Sounds like communism in denial.
Anarchy (from Greek: ἀναρχία anarchía, "without ruler") may refer to any of the following:
"No rulership or enforced authority." [1]"Absence of government; a state of lawlessness due to the absence or inefficiency of the supreme power; political disorder."[2]"A social state in which there is no governing person or group of persons, but each individual has absolute liberty (without the implication of disorder).
They are anarchists. I have a few interviews with the organizers of that protest where they specifically state they are anarchists. They will get posted as soon as I get a chance.
the speeches given at the protest were about restructuring wealth so that people who make to much pay more to help those that make to little and in support of state controlled schools and education. people there also argued for the continued subsidization of abortion. all of these activities must be carried out by some form of govt, right?
we invited a diversity of perspectives from the anti-capitalist left to speak at the event you were at.
most of the organizers are anarchists who aim to work towards a cooperative self-organized world, but in the time being we organized under a coalition of anti-capitalists, the common ground amongst everyone being that people's needs should come first before profit driven corporations, governments, and global financial institutions. that included some socialists.
you complain bitterly about the press misrepresenting the libertarian right, i'd advise you not to make the same stereotypes about the libertarian left, thanks.
fuck the president, and the rest of the gov. especially the punk police.we should start rioting instead of all this talk.talk is cheap.start doing some watts riota type shit, then we might get a CHANGE!
Fighting violence with violence will only get you more violence. These big bankers may be stealing everyone's money but so many people steal/download these days its hard not to be a hypocrite. In all honesty I'd rather have a light wallet than soldiers with M16s standing outside my house and being locked under curfew. Life is still good and people should be grateful they live in a democratic society where you can still protest without being shot to death or get your hands cut off.
Well, that's true. I always say that a badly needed reform you never hear called for is 'police recruitment reform'. Here in FL there's talk of changing the incentive structures to bring new blood into public school teaching.
Imagine what'd happen if you could largely flush out of police work the many ignorant thugs--'pigs', in a word--who join out of a need to feel powerful and be mistaken for virtuous.
It'd change the world. It'd transform communities.
