  • Not on my 68

  • i own a conv 68 beetle with dpd a/c

  • lol most volkwagens the air conditioning is the windows!

  • It also has hot air! I have one made in Germany in 1975, i love it!

  • @caroypablo04 If its dark blue you might have my car.

  • @Ryoku75 I don't think so, it's green and I live in Uruguay! :)

  • @caroypablo04 Ah, well as an ax-75 owner I suggest you keep an eye on your rear window pillars for bubble rust around the side vents. Mine were pretty rusty, otherwise '75's a good year.

  • (I have a copy of the sales brochure.)

  • @fatsubsonic

I wish I could lay my hands on that copy! Do you have it in PDF? Then I could add it on my website!

  • A/C was available since 1962. The kit was made by DPD Manufacturing Company Inc. 504 E Josephine, San Antonio, Texas.

  • Actually AC was available in the early 70's on Bugs, and a bit earlier on the other VWs.

  • @nipperdawg was actually available in the 60's. I got a book one Xmas and I there are some pics of a/c units on some Beetles in like 1963-on.

  • It's technically not "air-conditioning"; However the Beetle had a unit that consisted of vents that channeled fresh air into the inside of the car and cooled the engine. But there's the "twin-55s" that provide great air derection into the car.

  • Yeah, I have 2 20 air-conditioning in my 1969. 2 wing windows open @ 20 miles per hr.

  • Air-conditioning is something i want in my '63 Beetle!, you even need it during winter here(mumbai, India)!

  • Cool! Literally. <3

  • Superb!!!!!

    lol
