@jreily88 yes and thats why humans are better a relaxed person can easily lie with out breaking a sweat but our body involuntarily gives signal that are unstoppable and can be detected by a trained interrogator
As i understand, socio-paths cannot be detected when they lie, as they have no emotion, thus it does not show on facial features or on the bio feedback! However, you can also trick the examiner, purposely screwing up your own name would void the whole test,
@croatian0phatty2hot as also inflicting pain oneself during the "control" questions. Works because you body reacts to the pain thus elevating the graphs to a certain level that when and if you actually lie, the lie will not go over the "control" set line.
people don't always sweat or have a fast heart beat when they lie. Some of the most notorious criminals in history have passed the polygraph and yet they lie out of their ass. The only reason why you would fail a polygraph is if you are nervous. Sometimes, the feeling of guilt or the pressure of a possible life sentence can make you appear as a liar to the police. If you are calm, you can beat a polygraph, whether you are telling the truth or not.
@CubsVsSoxchicago i'm willing to bet money that if you were to lie in an interview with a police officer when under arrest for a major crime that you have committed you would sweat and your heart beat would sky rocket

the only way to 100% accurately say if somebody is telling a lie, is doing a fMRI scan while asking questions.
