  • I'll never be tired of the part from 6:20 to 8:22. That'S how you use loops in songs, not by putting 1 beat over and over again all the time throughout a whole song!

  • The part at 6:20 gives me goosebumps everytime...

  • These guys are legends forever.

  • I've come across this band about a month ago and still keep going through their vast discography. Stunning surprises like this keep popping up. That this song is not a classic escapes me...

  • 4:46 Man, That solo... fucking awesome

  • The ultimate fantasy song...

  • THIS SONG!! Can't wait to see them with Iced Earth on wednesday!

  • @yuletide lucky! i have to wait until march :( lucky bastard

  • Fascinating ♪ My soul and body have been excited !!

  • i appeared to break out in banging my head

  • Temazo. Romeo es un genio comparable a Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, John Williams. Y no exagero, algún día en el futuro, cuando ya no existamos dirán eso. ¡¡Grande Michael Romeo!!.

  • I've been whining that holiday spirit is irreversibly gone. Older people simply shrug their shoulders and say that I grew up. You'll eventually come to terms with it, they say. I don't want to reconcile with the fact! SO, I've found a secret key to make holidays, on any moment you regard a holiday magical. Lit a candle or two and listen to this magnificent music. MAGIC FOREVER.

  • ARROW TO THE KNEE!!!

  • the more I listen to some older songs from this band the more I like them...this band will get more listenings than in flames and nightwish toghether....and still making fucking good albums when all the rest are out of inspiration..many dissapointments in 2011 but Iconoclast was out of this world!!!

  • "Across the seas through sands of time knight of the templar, A charging stead through lands unkind a legend forever" these words will echo throughout my life to the grave. All hail Symphony X!

  • 6:20 Russell Allen FTW

  • A HEART OF GOLDDDD PUMPSSS WITHINNN HIS METALLL SKINNN

    fucking love that

  • \m/

  • The fact that this song exists is an accolade for the human race.

  • Their music will never be this good again, and that my friends is a (Divine wings of) tragedy.

  • SKYRIM!

  • By Far Best Symphony X Track on "The Divine Wings Of Tragedy"

I Wanna Be 55 And Still See My Kids Being Amazed By These Timeless Tunes Developed By The Most Underrated Progressive Metal Band In History. Hands Down And Cheers For Symphony Fucking X!

  • anyone else think that despite the superior musicianship that this band sounds almost JUST like dream theater...just sayin...

  • @maidenmosherXX That's just a matter of opinion. But not really. The singer has a distinctive voice (mostly bad, but memorable), the solos for symphony x are different but similar among symphony x songs, while dream theater's solos are a bit more varied. Drums in my opinion, are way more solid in symphony x, but that could be because Mike Portnoy carries himself in an obnoxious manner. Although, symphony x and dream theater both have very long songs (20 min +)...

  • @swisscheesepotatochi true. i see what youre saying...im kinda new to progressive metal..except for dream theater. they do have their own sound to where i could tell them apart but they should have definitely toured together.

  • @maidenmosherXX

TBH imo they sound nothing like DT.. which is good. DT is more modern prog heavy sound when SyX is more prog metal sound.

Dt fans, stop analyzing the music too much, enjoy this what is Symphony X.

  • @metsuri69 Asking a DT fan to stop analyzing music too much is like asking Rihanna to not look like a freshly raped crack whore.

  • I get Kansas vibes from this group, just great!

  • Brividi puri

  • this is by far one of the best progressive songs by Symphony X

  • OHH FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK !! I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!

    SYMPHONY X FOR EVER

  • Not everyone who has ears has sense of sound my friend!!!

  • Lets find out who disliked this and gangbeat him (or her?)

  • this one is simply brilliant

  • Brilliant. Stunning. Awesome. Excellent. Amazing. Astonishing. Breathtaking. Incredible.

  • @Vonzaku You forgot "Epic".

  • if you dont linsten until the 7 minet you mist the feeling of you life- this is resl music

  • 1 people are britney spears fan :)

  • In three thousand years or so when scholars are dusting off the fossilized remains of CD's and iPods; the future people will hear the music that our kind listened to, and they will weep bitter tears for us. "Four-hundred years of Western Musical Tradition, and they degenerated into manufactured pop music!" they will cry.

Then, suddenly they will unearth a Symphony X album, and they will take heart. They will say: "All praise be to the gods of METAL! for keeping the spirit of good music alive!"

  • @ZachValkyrie thats right fuck pop

  • This song could be good for zelda

  • @dreamtheaterisbeast I see what you mean... Dream Theater is beast indeed btw :)

  • Lol, whenever a song has 51k views (I know its not alot, that's still 51k people though), 291 likes, and 1 dislike, that's how you know a song and band are epic

  • @dreamtheaterisbeast So you mean that as, that good music would be more exclusive to just the people that know how to appreciate it?

  • They don't write songs like this anymore.

  • This is definitely some great questing music!!

  • I can't believe there is a human that doesn't like this masterpiece of history

  • The polyrythmism in this music is insane !

  • man, I was listening to some of Iconolcast...it sounded so generic and, well, lame.

    *sadface*

  • @NIMHFS Its weird that they got a bit worse when MJR got a bit better of a tone xD

  • domingo porrrraaaaaaaaaaa

  • there is always one.

  • The best Progressive Power Metal band ever!!! Can't find any other band who can beat them :-)\m/ I've search and search and found alot of great prog.metal, but not quite as good as these guys.

  • @dagbli Yes dude, im in the same research, but Ive been unable to find something like symphony X no one can beat em until now, and yes, theres good prog music, but, they are unexplicable beautiful!!

  • @Maurody nub. there are a handful of bands now born from the inspiration of prog metal and symphony x:

    Adagio, Circus Maximus...fucking amazing

  • Bits of this almost remind me of a few songs on Vai's passion and warfare album

  • John Petrucci and the gang disliked this.

    Steven Seagal approves.

  • Best song they have made.

  • 1 dislike.... is he still alive?? fuck

  • My friend walked in on me listening to this, and he asked "are you crying?"

i responded "No, im listening to symphony x Y.Y"

  • Brutally Beautiful........

  • I want this song to be playing when I go on my adventure. Oh and you all are invited.

  • @milonkill are you goin to kill the big golden dragon? if yes i`m coming.

  • If I knew a band more fantastic than this my brain would surely turn to glop.

  • @gamhacked they're called dream theater :)

  • @Moonbadgers Cute joke, but I've listened to all Dream Theater have to offer. I fear this is where our opinions differ. :)

  • I want the old Symphony back!

  • @PaNtErAtH I know exactly what you mean; that lyric gets me every time too! The imagery is powerful there! :D

  • one of the best songs i have ever listen in my life(as also the whole album)

  • this song is absolutely no doubt, very beautifully written, you can imagine so many pictures just by listening to this song.

  • Absolutely amazing ... I've been listening to this since it got out 1997 ... the part @ 6:20 when he starts singing and then the bells followed by synth then violin then piano then guitar then bass and drums ... oh my fucking god ... it's like Mozart , Verdi, Bach, Handel and Strauss joined together and started jamming

  • One stupid person failed to click de Like button...STUPID ASSHOLE! =)

  • I love this. This should be mainstream.

  • 28 thousand views...? Damn it! It's so unfair how all the pop artsits get all the attention they don't deserve, while real music with real emotion like this just remains unnoticed, whilst it is so brilliant...

  • @NickBolland that's true...

  • @NickBolland

It is so sad and true.....

  • @NickBolland easy, the pop music is the fashon today, rather, in the 60s of 70s, i think the people would appreciate this music

  • @alonso6182 Well, that means that music as we know it is going down. Let's just hope bands like Symphony X keep doin' their thang :) New album is amazing btw

  • @NickBolland really? how its the name?

  • @alonso6182 Iconoclast. Best song off the album: When All Is Lost ;) look it up

  • @NickBolland beautiful song, you´re right, its the best of the album

  • @NickBolland because the masses are uneducated

  • @NickBolland If I could thumbs up your comment more times....It's simply unfair for such bands as Symphony X to remain in the shadows.....HAIL SYMPHONY X !!!

  • At least once a day when I try to comment, youtube keeps making me enter non-existent words that appear the way they would to a drunk. Thy can suck my cock.

  • Listen to this song and then Accolade II right after it's like you're in a fucking fantasy dream land! SYMPHONY X IS AMAZINGGG

  • The Musicianship, The Vocals, All Stunningly Beautiful, You cant get much better than this.

  • nobody dislikes this song

All is well in the realm of Symphony X

  • Yeah I used this song on RPG maker vx, the song begins as soon as the character enters the some castle.

  • @qintin Really?!? I must hear this masterwork!!!

  • i didn't get bored for one minute litenin to that ...bloody geniouses

  • This song seems like a RPG boss fight soundtrack

  • Tracks 4-9 on this album are just superb, I do like 1-3 as well but 4-9 really stand out to me

  • I come everytime i listen to 5:04 to 5:34

  • 2:56 Reminds me of the Bangkok part of Steve Vai's Fire Garden Suite

  • Great song! Hail Symphony X!

  • i listen to this song every time i read a song of ice and fire

  • SUCH AN UNDERRATED BAND!!!!! 10 minutes of absolute amazing quality

  • Cazzo di capolavoro

  • @lespeol già, é troppo bella questa canzone *.*

  • The synthesizers are awfully cheesy for 1997. The chorus is killer, though.

  • On all the people who watch this 0 person have put a like on justin bieber video

  • this one very underrated band that flies in under the radar

  • I love this song. It makes me want to go on an epic adventure!!

  • such and underrated song. LOVE THIS BAND!

  • i only like the heavy riffs of this song

  • @lv4nx That's a shame man. I'm glad I ain't the kind of metalhead that thinks everything slow or acoustic is gay.

  • @JesterIF sorry man some songs that are slow i like

  • 7:40 IS SO FUCKING PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HAIL SYMPHONY X, HAIL METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, this song is, without an exageration, one of the humanity masterpieces...

  • me hace canto y lloro amo symphony x que venga a peru...

  • My god what a beautiful song by an amazing band, can't wait for the new album!!!!

  • Sounds a little bit like "Lost and Found" by Camel ...

  • @metalfan0099 You mean "Lost and Found" by Camel sounds a little bit like this lol

  • @bballg4life923 No. Camel is waaay older and ... a lot better ^^

  • @metalfan0099 They are older but this album was released in 1997 while Rajaz was released in 1999 so SX wins the battle for this song lol.

  • It's strange, so many bands write songs about ancient mythology...but in my opinion only Symphony X have ever captured the 'feel' of ancent mythology with their music. Just listening to the sounds of each Symphony X song...it makes you feel just that little bit cloer to those ethereal characters and settings.

    Romeo knows his shit.

  • @PilmarKhinKari

To add to this, Symphony X have been one of very few bands that have brought me close to tears with certain songs. This song, Divine Wings of Tragedy, A Winter's Dream and Paradise Lost are all fantastic at drawing out my emotions.

  • @PilmarKhinKari The Odyssey had that effect on me as well! They are the only highly technical band that send shivers down my spine consistently.

  • @PilmarKhinKari I have to agree with this, but also this song (the accolade), especially the lines starting with "To see the light....", and "Candlelight Fantasia" are drawing out my emotions.

Definately my favourite band. I have yet to listen to a band that comes close to the skill and emotions of Symphony X.

  • @PowerSlaveAlfons drawing out your emotions? you emo bitch

  • @LylaByrd If having emotions is being an emo bitch, then yes, I am one. And then probably every human is one. ;)

  • @LylaByrd ur stupid

  • @DietGrape it's YOU'RE stupid....stupid, go read a book

  • @PowerSlaveAlfons Adagio, Whispered, X Japan, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos 2 and 3, Carmen Fantasy by Sarasate/Pablo de.

If you say such a thing you've really not searched music hard enough.

  • @Deathyman I've listened to Adagio, and also X Japan, but they haven't really got my attention.

  • @PowerSlaveAlfons Suspyre, Cynic, Spheric Universe Experience, Cloudscape, Pagan's Mind.

  • @PowerSlaveAlfons have you listened to Dream Theater?

  • @MrDyl7 Of course I have...I have a video of a Dream Theater song on my channel.

Also, Dream Theater doesn't come close to Symphony X in belongs of emotions IMHO.

  • @PowerSlaveAlfons I never was a big fan of DT. I liked Images and Words and Scenes from a Memory but the rest of the albums were just ok. James Labrie's vocal style is not very versatile, it works well for Queen/Rush style rock with a touch of metal, which is great but as soon as you try some modern metal (which was their latest direction) he sounds terrible. This Symphony X album was great because they weren't trying to sound like a band of the 90's. They just followed their hearts.

  • @darfunkelidas That's what I pretty much meant.

  • @PilmarKhinKari Thanks for sharing that, now I don´t feel like a lonely metal head pussy anymore

  • @PilmarKhinKari

Definitely this song for me. Somewhat with The Odyssey as well. I agree on thossongs you mentioned though. I haven't heard paradise Lost though.

  • song seems quite popular in italy, judging by youtube statistic.

  • This song is beautiful. So many of Symphony X songs have brought me close to tears due to their downright soulfulness. A few other examples are 'The Divine Wings of Tragedy', 'Communion and the Oracle' and 'A Winters Dream Pt.1'.

  • Epic win, man. ^^

  • great song
