@MrMilfhunter2003 Um.....are you dumb ? The USA was around during this time, the USA defeated the British once and a tied in a second war with the war ending in their Favor.
Hell the USA defeat a good bunch of British Soldiers, that fought at Waterloo who where sent to fight in what became the Battle of new Orleans. funny thing is the USA only lost less then a Dozen men, while defeating the same British Units that fought against Napoleon a few months before.
Um Waterloo was afterwards. June of 1815. And you suffered alot during your campaings in Canada against us and the Brits. You scored some notable victories, and for the first two years you dominated in ship-to-ship. But yeah we deafeated 12 seperate invasions, at places like Chateauguay, Queenston, Lacolle and our Canadian Voyageurs and Natives took the war south into Prairie du Chien and Lake Huron. Sure, a war that both sides ''won'', but we came out all right.
@CanadianGuerrilla you do know most the invasions into Canada where poorly led and mostly Militia armies right? then again the USA really didn't have much of a Army let alone a military during that war.
Yeah I know, and you were faced by a mixed force of Natives, regulars and miltia. And there was a big numerical difference between us. But yeah the leadership was either too young, too old or they were just politicians. Until guys like WInfield Scott, William Henry Harrison and Brown came along. There were some great Canadian commanders too among the British: Drummond, de Salaberry, Macdonnell and Ducharme.
@CanadianGuerrilla ya true.. most of the attacks into Canada where to get the British to take notice since the USA declared war on the U.K and the U.K thought the USA was joking lol.

People dont really use bayonet charges in NTW and ETW. I took what you did on this map and applied it to my NTW battle where I marched all my troops up a mountain while being pounded by 4 batteries of 20lber unicorn guns. I some how got my cav to take out two but the rest was left my bayonet charging line. line with my line infantry and jagers managed to break and sweep those batteries. I was sure I was gonna loose but amazingly I won. 20lbers are expensive and showed in quality of his line.
@lostcause78 i think you may be refering to the wrong suvorov. The massacre of prague i believe was in the 1970s, by Viktor Suvovrov. This suvorov is Mikhail suvorov, responsible for many victories of the french and ottomans in the 18th century
You're pretty awesome. I think you're tactics, which are historically based, are totally epic and amazing. Many players probably don't care about history, you are a man worthy of being second-in-command to Suvorov.
I got a book about Suvorov, it is a translated Russian book. Got it off of Amazon or Ebay. Its called History of the Campaigns of Count Alexander Suworow Rymnikski: With A Preliminary Sketch Of His Private Life And Character, it was by Frederic Anthing.
Awsome movie, really need to buy a computer which can play this game :) Question though, you seem fairly well-informed about this. But why are russian uniforms very often green. I even seen a flag of russia with green. All other nations are clear why they have the colors they have on their uniforms (Grey for Prussia, Blue-Yellow for Sweden, red for Denmark and UK and so forth)
the only thing i don't understand is why Russian line infantry is the weakest line infantry unit in the game -.- . It has 160 men (like every other line infantry unit exept austria who has 200 ) BUT has 35 arc. , 11 melee defence and 7 melee attack while regular line infantry ( Prussia , France , England ) have 40 arc. 14 melee defence and 9 melee attack ( melee def and atc could be wrong )
The volley and bayonet tactic is much older than Suvorov it was used by the british in the civil war although it was volley and pike and then used by malborough in the early 1700's at Blenheim.
Wow. Suvorov sounds like an interesting guy. I like Russia a lot. XD I should look him up. Cool tactic and it worked well for you! I wonder if that was a surprise to your opponent.
I always seem to use Suvorov tactics, especially in the campaign - because the AI always seems to forget to research bayonet tech in early stages, because of that any one who researches at least up to ring bayonet you have a HUGE advantage against the AI in melee, even if your hugely out numbered! "18th Century is standing in a line and firing at each other Hurr Durrp" - fuck that COMMAND LIKE YOU GOTTA PAIR
Everyone fought like that as the battles were decided on bayonetpoint as firearms were really inaccurate. The difference was that Suvorov and Russians in genereal believed more on bayonet than others. You can see it by just looking at Russian troops stats.
It seems to me "Hugging the enemy" to death is and in a way has allways been a russian tactic but now a days it cannot be used. and they probably don't.
I think Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is another undefeated General as well. His most famous victory was beating the allies at the Battle of Gallipoli during WWI. That destroyed Churchill's career as Lord of the Admiralty.
at stalingrad the soviets tricked the germans into the city and surrounded them then the germans starved an froze during th winter because the nazis thought they would control the city within a few weeks
Wow....interesting fact about the Soviet tactics at Stalingrad. The Viet Cong and the NVA also liked to get in real close to American forces during the Vietnam war, in order to counter our artillery and air support capability.
Of course, they were influenced by Soviet military doctrine.
So amazing! I happen to be a descendant of the Romaov family of Russia (ie Catherine the Great, Anastasia.) What's kind of funny about that is that I'm only related to hem because of Princess Sophie (Germany) who happens to be something like the Great-Great-Great grandmother of Anastasia!
@Fedaykin4321 Actually yes, right. We had it checked out, aaaannnnd we are related to Sophie and therefore the Romanov's. Don't know what there is to be so negative about...
@sucka23454321 ....so because you say "we had it checked out" I'm supposed to believe you now? ROFL - tons of people have claimed to be related to the Romanov's, very VERY few are accurate. Those who really are related to them typically don't feel the need to brag about it on youtube videos.....nice try tho!
@Fedaykin4321 Would you like to explain what your issue is with my family history.I'm not really sure what your problem is. The "Holier-than-thou" and rude attitude isn't really that great. Sorry, it's just not nice. And I wasn't bragging, I was just saying that I happened to be related to the Romanovs, considering this video has to do with Russia. Also, are you an expert on my family history, if so, do tell, I would love to know what MY REAL history is.I mean you know what you are talking about.
@sucka23454321 ....you realize the arguement you just gave could be applied to literally anything? I guess that makes Napoleon my grandpa....are you an expert on my family history? No - so it must be true! Saying you are related to royalty *is* bragging. I don't need to know your family history to be able to call you a liar. Honestly the only reason I replied in the first place is it bothers me to think that he (Prince) chose to validate your pipe-dream by replying to your comment. For shame!
@Fedaykin4321 I'm not sure what argument you are talking about. I fail to see how me telling you that you are just making yourself look bad by picking a fight with someone and then needing to apparently be right (even though you're not) can be applied to anything. And no, it wasn't bragging, I just thought I'd share my family history. In case you didn't they do have relatives (what a shock). Sorry that I offended you so much. How is calling me a liar proving anything? This isn't your concern.
@sucka23454321 So do u have Hemophilia, or is that just a tale? I heard that disease started in the royal family, and if you have Hemophilia, theres a good chance you can trace it to the Romanovs.
@Alphapara No I do not have Hemophilia. I hadn't heard that story. It's just a distant relation and it was just kinda cool. I think the rate of males who get Hemophilia is 1 in 5000 so its unlikely. However, I don't know if extended family have the condition or the gene. I just know that I am somehow related :)
On the downside if you are male you run the risk of the X-linked recessive disorder Haemophilia B (factor IX deficiency) which was of course Tsesarevich Alexei Nikolaevich's illness who inherited it from his mother Alexandra, and can be traced back to her maternal grandmother Queen Victoria.
The assassination of the Romanov family is no doubt one of the greatest tragedies of human history as it indirectly led to the genocide of countless millions.
@hoplite46 Thanks! I thought it was kinda neat. Yeah the Romanovs weren't exactly the nicest people either-although Communism didn't do a whole lot of good for Russia. As far as I know I am not a haemophiliac thankfully. We are related although not very close so I think my family shhould be fine.
@PrinceofMacedon Btw that... if you have seen the movie Alexander The great (guess you have) at the end he fights in a forrest, in africa or india, and he get seriusly hurt, it seem to me that he lost that fight? or?
@PrinceofMacedon It has been months since you commented, & it seems you are quite busy so I don't know if you found out why Blackram said that, but I think he said that because he may have mistaken Ney for Masséna, as they were 2 of the 18 Marshals of Napoleon's Empire. Masséna "defeated" Suvorov because the Austrians betrayed him, causing him to kick some ass retreating. The info is in wiki, can't post link. Just scroll down to Italian campaign to see.
@1Blackram1 Did you only say that because it says it on the screen at the end? Which also brings to question why PoM's name was Marshall Ney and not Prince of Macedon? Can someone fill me in?
He's posted a couple of videos where he's lost. I think Prince posts the videos that he thinks are most interesting, and have something to talk about, and obviously, for anyone, that would typically be when they win. Prince uses lots of real historical tactics, while most of his opponents have no clue about them, so, I'd think he does very well.
Since Charles XII's tactic was very much about the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers.
His idea was that if you charge up towards the enemy, and the enemy fires at a long distance, they will miss fairly many shots. Yet, when the Caroleans were close they'd fire much nearer to the enemy, thus having a higher damagerate and then charge the enemy with the bayonettes before they reloaded.
im planning on getting this but i want to know can you like create your matches on a blank map and put down your soldiers and the enemys soldiers down
Tactics here is similar to barbarian front charge in Rome TW, but not to Suvorov's one. At least because of the fact that Suvorov never lost more soldiers in action than enemy did.
He didn't mean the bullets are too inaccurate - he just meant soldier must spend bullets and gunpowder wisely because of lack of support - transports did only 2-3 mph at XVIII century. Thereby, if you can spend a minute reloading you rifle or you can spend this minute with crossing the distance between enemy and you and fight with bayonett - do it with bayonett. But if your losses almost twiced because of this charge - shoot, man.
@PhDUbermensch Suvorov meant that shooting does much damage for both sides, while in melee all counts your skill, strength and bravery. And russian soldiers were most skilled, strong and brave. Only Old Guard comparable. Also bullet kept in the rifle is quite useful in melee.
Actually, Suvorov never performed a full front chrarge as PrinceofMacedon) Face to face with whole enemy's army - he always tried to avoid it. Favorite Suvorov's style of action is to make a long range march - up to 40 miles - at night and strike suddenly until it's dawn - 3.00-4.00 a.m., defeat the enemy piecemeal and pursue him another 40-60 miles.
@Magnorion Lawl Ye, Or when the Duke was defending he would fire platoon volleys into the French Column Formations and it usually broke the French from the Action, The charge hardly ever hit home. But the french Column beat every other infantry in the world, And only the British by being able to fire 3-5 Shots a minute were able to stop them.
Suvorov's tactic of firing some volleys and the charge with the bayonet is practically a rip off the Swedish carolean tactic, which were fire a volley and then charge the enemy.
And this tactic were used before Suvorov even were born.
that may be right, but i dont think the Swedish were the first to do it though. i dont know its just because it sounds like an easy tactic and not like something very speciel
And the infantry tactic were not as simple as you might think, you as soldier would march with your regiment until you were 10 paces from the enemy and then fire, you never returned fire on the way. After you fired you would charge the enemy. And different from any other nations at the time all Swedish solders were equipped with rapiers for close combat, much more effective than an musket with bayonet.
This tactic takes a lot of courage and very well discipline.
@Greven88L 10 paces? Your Joking? Man a musket is effective at 60 paces, I think you either got your facts wrong or your exxagerating because to stop that close was to invite death.
Why is Napoleon remembered as the 'ultimate general' when Wellington was a far superior one. The only battle Wellington lost was a raid during the siege of Seringapatam in 1799
I think it's down to their Empires, the french Empire was far larger in Europe, we went all the way to Russia. Though I'm not historian, so this is just my opinion

Also, are you an expert on my family history, if so, do tell, I would love to know what MY REAL history is.I mean you know what you are talking about.
sucka23454321 1 year ago
@sucka23454321 ....you realize the arguement you just gave could be applied to literally anything? I guess that makes Napoleon my grandpa....are you an expert on my family history? No - so it must be true! Saying you are related to royalty *is* bragging. I don't need to know your family history to be able to call you a liar. Honestly the only reason I replied in the first place is it bothers me to think that he (Prince) chose to validate your pipe-dream by replying to your comment. For shame!
Fedaykin4321 1 year ago
@Fedaykin4321 I'm not sure what argument you are talking about. I fail to see how me telling you that you are just making yourself look bad by picking a fight with someone and then needing to apparently be right (even though you're not) can be applied to anything. And no, it wasn't bragging, I just thought I'd share my family history. In case you didn't they do have relatives (what a shock). Sorry that I offended you so much. How is calling me a liar proving anything? This isn't your concern.
sucka23454321 1 year ago
@sucka23454321 So do u have Hemophilia, or is that just a tale? I heard that disease started in the royal family, and if you have Hemophilia, theres a good chance you can trace it to the Romanovs.
Alphapara 1 year ago
@Alphapara No I do not have Hemophilia. I hadn't heard that story. It's just a distant relation and it was just kinda cool. I think the rate of males who get Hemophilia is 1 in 5000 so its unlikely. However, I don't know if extended family have the condition or the gene. I just know that I am somehow related :)
sucka23454321 1 year ago
@sucka23454321
So freaking cool.
The assassination of the Romanov family is no doubt one of the greatest tragedies of human history as it indirectly led to the genocide of countless millions.
karlkarlkarl1234 1 year ago
@karlkarlkarl1234 The Romanovs were no angels themselves!!!
hoplite46 1 year ago
@hoplite46 Thanks! I thought it was kinda neat. Yeah the Romanovs weren't exactly the nicest people either-although Communism didn't do a whole lot of good for Russia. As far as I know I am not a haemophiliac thankfully. We are related although not very close so I think my family shhould be fine.

Suvorov did get beaten once, By Marshal Ney i think. Wasnt a major battle though, didnt break his whole army or nothing, just a minor defeat.

simplyacharmer 1 year ago
@PrinceofMacedon It has been months since you commented, & it seems you are quite busy so I don't know if you found out why Blackram said that, but I think he said that because he may have mistaken Ney for Masséna, as they were 2 of the 18 Marshals of Napoleon's Empire. Masséna "defeated" Suvorov because the Austrians betrayed him, causing him to kick some ass retreating. The info is in wiki, can't post link. Just scroll down to Italian campaign to see.

You're wrong. Suvorov never fought against Ney even in minor fights.

That tactic sounds very Carolean.
This combined with cavalry charges.

Tactics here is similar to barbarian front charge in Rome TW, but not to Suvorov's one. At least because of the fact that Suvorov never lost more soldiers in action than enemy did.
PhDUbermensch 2 years ago
He didn't mean the bullets are too inaccurate - he just meant soldier must spend bullets and gunpowder wisely because of lack of support - transports did only 2-3 mph at XVIII century. Thereby, if you can spend a minute reloading you rifle or you can spend this minute with crossing the distance between enemy and you and fight with bayonett - do it with bayonett. But if your losses almost twiced because of this charge - shoot, man.
PhDUbermensch 2 years ago 2
@PhDUbermensch Suvorov meant that shooting does much damage for both sides, while in melee all counts your skill, strength and bravery. And russian soldiers were most skilled, strong and brave. Only Old Guard comparable. Also bullet kept in the rifle is quite useful in melee.
cheaterstd 1 year ago
Actually, Suvorov never performed a full front chrarge as PrinceofMacedon) Face to face with whole enemy's army - he always tried to avoid it. Favorite Suvorov's style of action is to make a long range march - up to 40 miles - at night and strike suddenly until it's dawn - 3.00-4.00 a.m., defeat the enemy piecemeal and pursue him another 40-60 miles.
PhDUbermensch 2 years ago
@Magnorion Lawl Ye, Or when the Duke was defending he would fire platoon volleys into the French Column Formations and it usually broke the French from the Action, The charge hardly ever hit home. But the french Column beat every other infantry in the world, And only the British by being able to fire 3-5 Shots a minute were able to stop them.

Suvorov's tactic of firing some volleys and the charge with the bayonet is practically a rip off the Swedish carolean tactic, which were fire a volley and then charge the enemy.
And this tactic were used before Suvorov even were born.
Greven88L 2 years ago
that may be right, but i dont think the Swedish were the first to do it though. i dont know its just because it sounds like an easy tactic and not like something very speciel
Killer1260 2 years ago
Well the swedes were the only one using that tactic at that time period. All the other nations drilled there soldiers to stand and shoot.
Greven88L 2 years ago

The only battle Wellington lost was a raid during the siege of Seringapatam in 1799
MegaEpicfail123 2 years ago
I think it's down to their Empires, the french Empire was far larger in Europe, we went all the way to Russia. Though I'm not historian, so this is just my opinion
