  • i overstretched my ankle the first time i tried this (even after warming up a lot)... but thanks to this vid it wont happen again :)

  • Great video, could you do more on how to open up the hips to work towards the full lotus position? thanks.

  • for me is absolutely unthinkable to manage to do this pose i fell a big painful stretch at my lower back..which is the equivalnt of lotus pose for stiff, old persons?

  • great tutorial and lovely accent, i understand everything very well. :)

  • that's super fun!!!

  • I'm determined, and this is an encouraging video that makes it clear that this isn't just some other easy pose. It really completes the fish posture to be able to have the legs involved this way. And it's one that is necessary for yogic flying too...which isn't just the "floating fluff" hehe ;)

  • Awesome to see it explained properly.

Most of the other how to's are "This is how you do lotus position" and then whoosh whoosh they have their legs folded and your left wondering how how the hell did they did it. Cradling the leg as a warm up really helps.

  • I cannot do that! I'm wally(

  • I want to be able to do the full lotus pose, but I have almost not flexibility at all. What are the exercicies that I should practice to make possible using this pose?

    Thanks in advance.

  • @yakumoklesk Try sitting on your heels. I can remember when that used to feel strenuous, but it has opened the tops of my feet up a lot.

  • nice fet and soles i like

  • Esther, thank you again so much for your useful help. This video again helped me further my asanas.

    This is for you Esther:

  • Esther, I love your english accent...so good! Do not change it. And your video so nice and down to earth, clear explanation and straight to the point. Accent so lovely, love it to bit. I can't figure it out! polish?

Thanks for great video and accent!

  • @lubelenge

    it's a dutch accent :)

  • absolutely true about this pose helping with straight spine, sidhasana is still a little lenient with back positioning and you cannot hold it long for meditation, but I have found that padmasana is the best perhaps for meditation ... practice practice practice ...

  • been trying this for a week or so. but no its done . THANKS

  • I can do it without any effort or hands help, probably because I was always sitting very similliar on the floor, but for example I hardly touch knees with head during standing.

  • I DID IT I DID IT! I've been trying to do this forever and it wasn't until this that I saw what I needed to do. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

  • great video thanks a lot

  • she great you dummy

  • Perhaps it's your agitation projecting onto other people...

  • great tips! your videos are very helpful! namaste!

  • Hey, I almost did it :) And you can really sit straight in this pose, with no effort at all :)it's very relaxing for the spine

  • i think lotus is hard. i've been stretching it 4 weeks now and i still dont have it full. i did close it twice but thats when i take a long stretching day. but the next day is like i never stretched it. its hard need helpp...

  • Lol wow, is this difficult? I sit like this everyday, when I'm watching TV etc... never had a yoga lesson in my life, I've just always done it. But then, I can put my legs behind my head, etc...

  • Im sure you are dutch i can hear it on your accent

  • I am... not very good in hiding it at all I'm afraid, I've accepted that this is how its going to be no matter how long I live in Ireland!

  • I hope you never change, you have a beautiful accent ^_^

P.s I can almost comfortably do this now!

  • What a wonderful and enligthening video, perfectly delivered by an expert :)

Thanks to you my lotus is now better than it was, though I still need to work on opening my hips a bit more :)
