competition is how. If everybody else is jumping that high on handrails, you think you can do it also. Haffey grew up in southern cal skating with pros like brian shima and brain bell. Eventually you just sink or swim and haffey pulled a micheal spitz and beat the compitition. Ive skated with kids probably have my age half my size destroying the highest handrails or smallest ledges. If you listen to the first part of this video, haffey is right. Skating and landing tricks starts with focusing.
