@armatulo Hmm, yea I suppose I did overdo it a little, but it is definately up there with other awesome movies I've seen, such as Four Brothers, Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile and Kingdom of Heaven. What movies do you think are better than this? Also, when I ask people what they think of Felon, they reply "what?" because they never heard of it, so I lend them my DVD. The next day they come back to me and say "That movie was awesome!" or something similar. Definately Underrated.

@UkPR0 Well, I watch a lot of movies to the point that I tend to forget what I saw a day after it was seen unless the movie is extraordinary by all counts, which happens very seldom. I know that "Street Kings" was a movie that left some very good impression on me, also a movie called "Perfume, The Story Of A Murderer" (this last one was amazing), I liked "Solomon Kane", was a very nice movie (but this one is a little more personal, so my view on it is more subjective). Just to name a few ;-).

@wwwdihstyledotcom i've seen both Felon and Cell 211. as much i think Cell 211 is a good movie, it just doesn't compare to Felon. Felon's a real masterpiece which depicts the conditions, the environment, the gangs and how to cope with day to day prison life. it's based on real events. not to mention it delves into the corruption with the prison guards. it shows how easy it is for someone to end up in prison. Cell 211 just depicts a prison riot, nothing more, nothing less.

@wwwdihstyledotcom yes, the Spaniards are obviously going to relate to and enjoy Cell 211 more than Felon considering throughout the entire movie the language is in Spanish. that's a given. i really believe Felon is a masterpiece, it has no flaws. it stays true to real life. it depicts the life inside of prison and how families cope with the loss of family who're living on the inside. it manages to give the truth of life inside prison without having to glorify it.

Went into this movie with a lot of skepticism....but damnit...its a GREAT GREAT GREAT movie, one of the best ever. In terms of prison movies, i'd put it right up there with Shawshank redemption and the green mile. Its a different kind of movie, and its great in a different way than those two, but you still have to watch it.

I watched this movie and never even noticed that the Smith character was played by Val Kilmer. That guy continues to surprise me. The movie surprised me too. I was awake late at night with insomnia and flipping through channels when I found it. I didnt like that John (Val Kilmer) wiped out the the murderers entire blood line. (although for the sake of being awesomely evil it did make you cringe). I thought that made him a ruthless evil person with no soul... and that didnt reflect how they developed his character. Other than that, amazing movie.
