well i have 7 dairy cows and they are exactly like the ones in the clip that you said was fake and i wake up every day at 5am milk them feed them and do the same with our sheep for woll (but i dont milk them) our horses (wich i dont milk ether and our goats (wich i do milk) then i gather eggs and feed the chickens then muck stalls then after all of that i can go inside and eat my breafast often cereal with the milk i just got from my dairy cows who live 17 steps from my frount door.

Sure animals get treated in inhumane ways in a minority of slaughterhouses, but if you are unhappy about that then do something about it.

About the only truth this video has, is that the calf is actually taken from the mother after a variable period of time. The results, the interm conditions, and the rest of the video are completely inaccurate. The author has taken the sickest cows, the worst dairymen and presented it as the norm. I've been on enough daries to see over 100,000 cows, and I haven't seen conditions this bad yet. It is just like finding the worst human in the worst place and saying that all humans are like that.

These people need to be prosecuted for animal cruelty. It's our governments who allow this. We must fight for better laws regarding animal cruelty, and put a stop to the practices shown here for once and for all. We need to go back to family farms and outlaw factory farming altogether. OMG! I raise cows. Our calves drink from it's mum until it's weaned. We also have vets take care of our cows as needed. They are milked on scheduled. We don't kill the babies, nor restrain them or make them lay in their own feces. Our cows seldom get mastitis, but if they do it is immediately cared for. Please don't try to convince people that the criminals who 'factory farm' cows are the norm.

WOW if my cows could give "120 litres/day" i would be a very rich man, I know alot about dairy farming and the average for cows to give is around 6000 litres/year, a year which is close to 300 days so thats 20/day although some cows will give closer to 60-70 litres/day at peak but I have never heard of a cow giving 120litres in all my life...just one example of distorting the truth in this video.

In the US, bull calves from dairy farms are used for meat. We've farmed, including dairy, raised 'baby beef' from dairy bull calves, & get our fresh-squeezed milk directly from farmers we know. Their cows are appreciated. Our calves came running when we called them and had a great life - for cattle. Processing was local, with no fear or stress ahead of time. You didn't mention most bobby (bull)calves are usually culled immediatly as they are of little value to a dairy farmer, at least thats what they do in New Zealand which is a large dairy poducer.
And then I remembered, I VISITED a dairy farm. Also, I live in a Scottish village, and there's fields in every direction, and on both sides of the road to the nearest city. The cows aren't mis-treated, to my eye.

The milk that calves drink have something called colostrum in it, which is only meant for the babies, not us. Which is why calves need to be taken away to prevent further production of colostrum by the heifer.

@mahafakir I work for a farmer and live in rural country. Every beef farmer there is has the calves at the sides of the cows. The calves drink the milk from the cows. You would be correct in saying that most dairies do not allow the calves to drink from the cows. It is easier to get calves started on bottles if you do this. There is nothing wrong with it at all.

About the only truth this video has, is that the calf is actually taken from the mother after a variable period of time. The results, the interm conditions, and the rest of the video are completely inaccurate. The author has taken the sickest cows, the worst dairymen and presented it as the norm. I've been on enough daries to see over 100,000 cows, and I haven't seen conditions this bad yet. It is just like finding the worst human in the worst place and saying that all humans are like that.

OMG! I raise cows. Our calves drink from it's mum until it's weaned. We also have vets take care of our cows as needed. They are milked on scheduled. We don't kill the babies, nor restrain them or make them lay in their own feces. Our cows seldom get mastitis, but if they do it is immediately cared for. Please don't try to convince people that the criminals who 'factory farm' cows are the norm.

WOW if my cows could give "120 litres/day" i would be a very rich man, I know alot about dairy farming and the average for cows to give is around 6000 litres/year, a year which is close to 300 days so thats 20/day although some cows will give closer to 60-70 litres/day at peak but I have never heard of a cow giving 120litres in all my life...just one example of distorting the truth in this video.

In the US, bull calves from dairy farms are used for meat. We've farmed, including dairy, raised 'baby beef' from dairy bull calves, & get our fresh-squeezed milk directly from farmers we know. Their cows are appreciated. Our calves came running when we called them and had a great life - for cattle. Processing was local, with no fear or stress ahead of time. The milk that calves drink have something called colostrum in it, which is only meant for the babies, not us. Which is why calves need to be taken away to prevent further production of colostrum by the heifer.
And i don't know if you've actually met a cow, but they usually forget they had a baby after a month. And judging by ur response, i think the agricultural state in ur country sucks.

One or two slaughterhouses do not speak for the entire lot. The workers aren't evil people, they are normal people earning money anyway they can, they don't mistreat or torture animals just because they can.
Also looking at the information on that chooseveg website I can say it is very much exaggerated and mis-informing. Alot to mention.

You should also know proveg groups expect you to change your diet because of mistreatment in some factories, but they always fail to mention the meat organizations that treat animals humanely and improve lives of livestock.

@mahafakir I work for a farmer and live in rural country. Every beef farmer there is has the calves at the sides of the cows. The calves drink the milk from the cows. You would be correct in saying that most dairies do not allow the calves to drink from the cows. It is easier to get calves started on bottles if you do this. There is nothing wrong with it at all.

Even if the cows are treated 'humanely', it is still wrong. The cows are being USED for profit. You cannot justify using anyone for your own gain, especially something unnecessary.
No species except humans (and their companions) drinks milk after infancy. It's not natural, it's not healthy, no one needs it. And the way it's produced by humans is certainly not nautral.
