Its really bad that all these people have got the wrong idea about this. It is amazing for its price. You don't need colour glasses if you have any other way of showing 3D. Personally, mine is on my Playstation with 3D TV. But a 3D monitor or just your 3D TV will do. The only thing you have to do is make sure that the .mpo file is in the same folder as the photo. Being able to show Red/Cyan in Youtube is a bigbonus for people that don't have any other 3D, but this camera is far superior to that.

I have one of these, and it's pretty great, really. If you have a 3D TV, you can watch your footage with whatever type of 3D your TV has...even if you watch YouTube through your TV. However, YouTube ALSO converts to anaglyph for viewing on computer. This cam doesn't only create anaglyph (red/cyan) 3D, in other words.

I know 3D. I've been shooting digital 3D since '97, and have a 3D TV, etc. I love 3D.

I was led to believe that this thing would ONLY do red-blue (old school) 3D, and for the money, it's simply not worth it: the Fuji 3D camera (which I own) does more.

The reason I was insulting was that if all you got was crappy old Red/Blue 3D,for the money it was a rip. If It does "real" 3D, than cool, and I'm sorry.

For viewing 3-D video you can try the 3-D Prism Glases they sell on Amazon.

Don't forget, you can still use this like a "regular" camera and print just the Left or RIght image to get a standard print.

If you want a 3-D print, print your pictures as a Side-by-Side "parallel" photo and view them with a 3Dphotoscope.

You can edit this footage. I own an Aiptek 3D Camcorder and the footage works in Final Cut, Premier, etc etc. You edit footage that shows both eyes, but it is very editable. Furthermore, this camera does support shutter 3D. The statement that the camera is only red/blue was a mistake.

@ciangitardude Film cameras in 1952 had 5mp of approximated resolution with 16bit colors. 35mm cameras had (still in use for movies) about 13mp of resolution. I believe the digital age was a big stepback for quality photos and videos. But this is changing with the DSLRs today. 3D pictures exist since 1900.

@toocoolforu The digital age was a step back at the time, but they have caught up and passed film now. Current digital video cameras can do 11.5 megapixel video (also known as "4k"), and I have seen a prototype UHDV camera that can do 33.1 megapixel video. Also the UHDV format can handle 22.2 surround sound as well. The sky is the limit my friend.

Also most of the movies you see in theatres, even if they were shot on 35mm, are typically converted to 4k and shown either on a 2k or 4k projector.

@v12tommy 4k means 4mp video, not 11.5mp, That's RED videos. If you like numbers, there's still the imax format surpassing 33mp. Plus, definition is only one factor, like i said before, colors, contrast etc are still better on film. Not to mention their 100 year lifetime.

@toocoolforu 4k does not mean 4 megapixel, it means 4096 pixels horizontal, which is 11.5MP total. Yes the RED camera shoots 4k video as well as other cameras such as the Panavision Genesis which does 12.4MP total, although I am not sure of the height and width of the image. As for IMAX, most of your IMAX screens in normal movie theatres are nothing more than 2 2k projectors on top of each other, which isn't even as good as 4k...the difference being the old IMAX theatres like at museums.

Also the IMAX digital format is only 2k when watching 3D movies because you only see one projector with one eye, so it is no better than any other movie theatre, and the theatres with 4k projectors are even better.

I should probably mention that I was an engineer in the TV industry for 2 1/2 years before leaving and starting my own production company.

You *can* use it with anaglyph (red/blue) glasses if you don't have a 3D or want to share on YouTube, but otherwise, you have dual lens capture and side-by-side frame-compatible MP4 output.
