  • I think I watched this video when I first went natural a couple of years ago. I thought I had my dryness under control until lately. Thank you for the video to help me understand what's really going on with my hair. It's funny, I always get compliments on my hair, I think simply because it is what people would consider long...yet I have the hardest time keeping it moisturized, which means it's not healthy. We need to get out of the mindset that length = health.

  • She got a point!

  • This actually made a lot of sense.

  • Great explanation! Just the info I was looking for.

  • I LOVE YOUR ACCENT OMG!

  • actually.... if ur black and your hair is dry... PUT SOME GREASE IN IT CAUSE IF U DONT YOUR HAIR BREAKS OFF AND IF U GO SWIMMING AND U HAVE CLORINE IN YOUR HAIR AND U DONT WASH IT DIRECTLY AFTER U GO HOME YOUR HAIR BREAKS OFF!! god damn its called common sense

  • @HelloPreety123 Did you even watch the video? Also, who the fuck puts grease in their hair anymore... That's terrible.

  • @Dixzallicx good for u for thinking that and lots of black people or ppl with dry hair have to put grease in there hair thank u very much or it will brake miss trying to make ppl feel bad but doesnt know shit

  • @HelloPreety123 You sounds like a crusty, ass chicken head. Also, go back to school. You don't know grammar and spelling for shit. You're the low life that gives Black people a bad name.

  • Love how she says "ph". XD lol

  • Thank you young lady - took me trying your advise once and it worked. Excellent! Let us know when your product hits the market. Thank you again

  • There is still movement of water into and out of the hair cuticle. Oils, etc only lessen this movement they do not stop it all together. Learned from Natural Haven (check out her blog it's awesome!)

  • how would you use apple cider vinegar on your in detail, hw much and wud it be right at the end of washing, deep conditioning etc?

  • im a little slow. so should you use products like acv after you've cleansed the hair if it closes the pores? and if so should you leave it in?

  • Once you add acidity back to your hair like the yogurt you were talking about you can't rinse it or else you raising the ph of your hair again! (remeber water has a ph of 7) so when you add something to bring the acidity back down to 4.5 it needs to not be rinsed out but I loved the video your super cute and very informative

  • your accent.! <3

  • thank you! loved the vid and ur accent! :0)

  • I'm going to try an apple cider vinegar rinse hopefully that will help my dryness issue THANKS!

  • i put 3 deep condtioners in my hair have been putting olive oil and water it looks dry

i did a twist out it looked dry and my husband said it looked dry

  • You did a great job, good luck with your hair producy journey.

  • Thank you very much for explaining the 2 differences that our hair my be dry. I am porous and lactose intolerance. What can I do to keep my hair moistured instead of spraying it with water every 3-4 hours. Its becoming aggravating. Please help, thanks.

  • Thank you so much for explaining this so clearly!

  • Love this video. So helpful. Love the accent even more ;)

  • What a good video, I learned so much from that as I recently became aware that my hair is porous. It amazed me that people bothered to note things such as your nail varnish when you're spitting good knowlege. Keep up the knowledge young lady well done to you!

  • You are an awesome teacher. Thank you for the info. ...Cant wait for your product line!

  • Thanks. I've been transitioning for about 4 months, and one of the main problem I've had is retaining moisture in my hair between washes. Your video really made clear why I might be having such a problem. Keep us posted about your natural haircare line!

  • how much apple cider vinegar should be used?

  • so what product to you suggest? Apple cider vinegar from the store? Do you have a mixture?

  • you've got a nice way to explain that! Thx you did well!! Never tried yoghurt in my hair and am excited to see the result. My hair looks more shiny when I iron it. I think the cuticel will close then??? But on the other hand it dries out as well, doesn't it?

Good clip!!! Regards from Italy, Uta

  • Thanks, very informative!

    I will try milk!

  • Thanks for the info!!! Learnt some things bout my hair that I didn't know before =)

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!! Thank you so much! kimmaytube talks about it but your demonstration made perfect sense to me. My hair is very much like you hair. Sometimes it appears dry when it isn't and vs versa. It is tightly tightly coiled (4c+) and is hard to retain moisture. ACV i find dries it out sometimes. Any other products you suggest? What is a good PH level? the higher the better or the lower the better? You mentioned yogurt how do you apply?

  • your hair has grown soooooo much. Thanx for sharing!!!

  • Girl, you betta TEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am subscribing, THANK YOU!

  • Wow I really needed this. I've had so much heartache and I mean it with my hair looking dry. It's been so frustrating and I was looking for that shin I used to get with relaxed hair but now I understand thanks so much!

  • This video is very informative and I will be sure to look at porosity controlling products. As I'm transitioning, I have been experiencing extremely dry hair. I mean it soaks up moisture within minutes after I've moisturized. So I will definitely try the apple cider vinegar or more acidic products.

  • You mentioned dry and brittle hair. There can be many reasons why a person's hair is dry and brittle. For example, the person may have a vitamin deficiency, illness, or using the wrong products. I learned that I cannot use products with a lot of synthetic ingredients b/c it dries my hair out. Also, I had allergic reactions to products with colors in them (yellow, blue, red). Learn your hair.

  • Thanks for the info, great vid.

  • Thanks for the info girly

    God Bless

  • Luvved the vid. Was on the porosity trail too as I find it difficult to retain moisture with my hair as well. I am 'hiding' at the moment - got a weave on and am trying to keep it in for a coupla months. Then will start again with porosity. Tired of dry tangly hair and yes, I do feel sometimes like my hair is not growing.

  • Very informative video

  • 1. I love your accent! 2. Fantastic video with great explanation.

  • i concur w/ some other ppl's compliments, but i needed to say especially good job on noting the various points in the video where you covered different topics. that's something i would do (if i posted vids) :-)

  • How do you use the apple cider vinger, do you use it after conditioning your hair?

Thanks for the video by the way.

  • That was SUPER!! I'll be waiting on your products:-D

  • You are good. You made this info interesting. I can't wait for your line.

  • thank you! just for being so educated

  • good video. i dry my hair all the time. I hate wet hair and i know it's bad. my hair isn't dry all the time only when I don't drink enough water. i only wash it once a month tho, i'm gonna get some yogurt. thanks for posting

  • Hi lady,

    Great vid!

At the last part: Can you use apple cider vinegar and or yogurt?

After washing me hair feels clean and makes a 'polished' sound.

Is that because of the dryness????

  • maybe your hair feels "too clean" because of the shampoo that ur are using....check in the ingridient list if it has any sulfates...that would most likely be the reason that u get that feeling...also ALWAYS deep condition...atleast once a week.....and a good shampoo i would recommend to try that doesnt have any sulfates in it is elasta QP creme conditioning shampoo...trust me, i have it and it makes my hair feel sooooo soft!!

  • @luvgal Thanxxx!

  • You go girl!

    Good info:D

  • I love how you gave us a scientific break down of our hair. I needed that. thnks

  • wow. that was great! The time is so appropriate too! with this winter weather it is hard to keep hair that feels moisturized without wetting it everyday!... i will defintiely try the industrial acidic products you mentioned! thanks!! can't wait till you line is out!

  • Good vid! i always do a apple cider vinegar rinse when my hair is dry. I've gotten away from doing it every week but i think ill start back up again. Thank for the reminder.

  • Nice Vid!!!

  • Great vid! I have the same problem that my hair feels dry and I try everything. I have a good length, but feel I've hit a growth rut. Please do more vids!

  • You talk about keeping things alkaline but ACV is strongly acidic... doesnt make sense...

  • Yes i made a mistake! I meant ACIDIC ph lower then 7 thats what I wrote in the note i put on the video

  • i agree. no matter how much i moisturize it still look dry and sometimes feels dry after a few days. but my hair gets greasy if i moisturize it twice a day every day

  • Great video, well put and easy to understand!

  • That was really a good video, most imformative that I have seen in a while.

  • Great!!!! Very informative... and the visuals are good also. I am a very visual learner. :0)

  • that was great. Very well explained. A lot of people do those 'acidic' treatments without truly overstanding the benefit. They just do it, cos they may of seen 'that-person-with-nice-hair' do it lol, but you've really laid it down in a way that is logical and understandable : ) Proper! hehe

  • Thanks 4 dropping the knowledge!

  • Kudos to you!!!!! I enjoyed you sharing this info and am very very interested to hearing more about our hair!!!

  • Love your new format! We need to be able to understand the science of black hair. Excellent!

  • Great information !!!!

Explains a lot ;) Good Job Girl :)

  • Re. hand - Ok I thought it might have been a statement or something! lol x keep up the video's

  • Excellent Job with the details and explaining....

  • Excellent!!!!! You really made it plain and simple for me.. this is my exact problem. Even when i had a relaxer, My hair would drink you oil, oil sheen. Thank you so much!!! Great Job!!!!

  • wow you're like a cool scientist lol great job, very informative!

  • very informative thanks

  • I listen to you and i am very impressed by your knowledge. Good luck with yr product line and the explanation was right on point.

  • Very informative! I love your videos :-)

  • I LOVE YOU!!!! YOU'RE AMAZING!!! You've really been such an inspiration for me to really keep working on my hair!! Thank you SO much!!

  • Great vid!!!

  • this helps so much. thanks for posting. 5 stars!

  • This made me smile and I learned some things as well. Great Vid!

  • great vid...luv the info

  • I think you made some excellent points and you explained in the best manner. Alot of times when people explain dry hair & porosity it can get a bit confusing but you did such a great job!

  • Coconut oil vs EVOOwhich do you think is better?

Can I buy it at any grocery store or would I have to go to a specialty shop?

and what exactly is pliable in regards to our hair??

    THANKS!!!

  • IMO, which is also supported by science, coconut oil is actually better than EVOO because Coconut Oil protects the hair from losing protein and it seals the hair better than EVOO and it actually has moisturizing properties. Hope that helps some.

  • @angrysunshyne for my hair coconut oil was better i got it at GNC :)

  • Great vid! Yes, I luuuuuv ACV rinses! I luv conditioning with yogurt as well. Like you said, both leave me with very smooth and nice feeling hair.

  • nice demonstration and just curious as to why you only have nail polish on one hand? noticed in another video?

  • @MsBluecat1,

lts a bad habit i have when I'm bored I do my left hand, but always struggle with the right so I dont bother! its so bad. sorry.x

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow Lol! My dad always gets mad when I do that.

  • @NaturalhairGrwthShow,

    Ha, I love it!

  • wonderful vid!!!

  • Is the Porosity Control product safe to use on natural hair that has never been chemically treated? I just did a Google search and it is advertised for those with chemically treated hair (color, perm, bleach, relaxer).

  • I would say so, chemically treated hair needs more care but it should be fine for natural hair

  • really needed that info..thanx !

  • great video =)

  • very good points in this video! did you mean, something that's more ACIDIC closes your cuticle (alkaline is higher pH)...

  • YES! Sorry

  • Ur very very intelligent and that was very informative... I'll be waiting on your product line gurly

  • VERY informative. mannnn i just learn so much from your vids.

    thanks!

  • Good info!!

  • great video!
