  • I have been playing for eight years. I would love to see him in real life.

  • guys he uses the weight.

  • i understood about half of that

  • The master gave this same class at Baylor University in Waco TX on

on Oct 26. I, too, had some difficulty in hearing and understanding him, but I learned a lot on bowing.

When you consider I am 73, taking lessons for 2 yrs, and learning to read music, my praise is enthusiastic.

  • @davnkatz WOW thats amazing i have been playing for 2 years as well and i think this is a wonderful instrument to play

  • i dun understand him either, besides 3 minutes of the word weight. why is his fingers all collapsed?

  • I don't understand him :( (I do speak english and normally don't have a problem but I can't understand him, I only understand 'weight', 'I use my weight' and other odd words here and there but not his full speech)

  • i dint know english. but i bet he never say : "listening to your sound is the way". and it is belive, listening and some little more directions. excse my englsh

  • ive met rabbath

  • @helisto so..?

  • The definition of good technique is natural and effortless playing. The purpose is to allow one to forget the mechanical aspects of playing and focus on ourselves in the music.

  • i met you rather late Mr.Rabath

  • Rabbath is the Man. pioneers get the arrows

  • @muzzleray that is oh so true

  • it seems that's it's enough to read you once...

  • hey drago.. you peace of shit, no one would like to see you more then once in any case.

so its better that you stay at home!!!

you dont have to visit any masterclass, you will not understand nothing in any case...

  • he's a great teacher. His books change the way you play the bass.

  • You mean George Vance?

  • Probably "Nouvelle Technique de Contrabass." They are 3 books which Rabbath wrote for better playing technique. They really do change the way you play the bass!

  • Actually Vance wrote the books. Rabbath made some notes that were featured in a few editions. But they were some of the first books I learned from and, yes, they did change the way I played the bass dramaticlally. I still use the pivot almost all the time when I play.
