I had an organ very similar to this model, the troubadore 181. Cheepy crappy spinet organs were no good, poor quality. The lager models were much better sounding and also had built in Leslie. I have one of the last models produced in 1981, the Eldorado 792, totally loaded with many great features and sounded great! I miss Thomas organs of the past as they sounded great!
Walter Liberace playing organ?. It was very unusual, although not impossible...Thomas organs was selled in my country Venezuela in the lasts 70's, like Yamahas and Wurlitzer. Because of the ads about these organs, many people learned to play the instrument incorrectly. Today, in Venezuela there are no services providers for these organs. What a pity!.
The "Color Glow" system - for when that pesky Magnus number-matching system is just too difficult. This is a lighted, full size version of those color-coded Fisher-Price organs you can buy for pre-schoolers.
In the movie, Austin Powers wakes up from having been asleep for many years. Upon learning that Liberace was gay, Austin Powers says :"Whoa! Didn't see THAT one coming!
That Color-Glo feature helped me learn how to play the organ back in 1973. I went from a small thomas organ to a Hammond in high school and then I now got back to owning a wonderful Thomas Eldorado 792 organ! Thomas is the best organ!
I know I posted my brush with greatness twice. It's lame I know, but I'm sure Liberace would be flattered. What a coincidence to get this organ within 3 weeks of seeing this commercial. I'm always looking on Craigslist for organs. I think I'll stop at 3.
That looks exactly like the Thomas Californian 250 I just got for free today on Craigslist. As an organ player I phyched! When I was 19 I worked at the Irvine Ranch in the Beverly Center. He used to come in quite a bit. I worked customer service in the butcher dept. That was around 1986. Anyway, that organ is out in my van. I wasn't sure what color glow was. Man, this is going to be a trip. Hope it sounds good. I'll post it, but don't expect me to play like Mr. L.
'Alright sweetie, watch the lights. They go C,D,E,F,G,A,Y..huh',I mean B, and then back to...hey kid where'd you go?"
He and his 'friend' used to come into the butcher shop where I worked. He usually whore a gray sweatsuit, but still had all of his jewelry on. He was always very kind. Most famous people are kind in public. Jimmy Smits was the coolest. That's 25 years ago.
Thomas organs are fun to play on as I own a Thomas organ! I thought Liberace represented Baldwin? It may had been in the late 1970's when he represented Baldwin Piano & Organ as he used a Baldwin concert Grand Piano in his performances.
oh wait here's another one: lee was great on the piano but he sucked on the organ.....haha just kidding, i love lee im sure if he were alive today he could take a good gay joke
For the love of god no more Liberace commerials please! Very Scary!

That was cool. In addition to being a master showman on the piano, Lee was also an organist. Trying to find any videos of him playing.

That little girl says "Gee, this is fun!" and then can't wait to get away from it. She practically runs from it!

@elc1960 I think she was more scared of Liberace! He sure was awesome-- but I don't think she knew his full magnitude.
