I like your tea bowls. There is just so much personality and freedom.
I recently posted a series on tea bowls. Lots of fun.
I admire your ability to thow off the hump. It's a real challenge for me. I seem to get an un recoverable wobble. I also end up with S cracks. How do you compress the base when you throw off the hump?
Nailed it once again my friend! I tried throwing off the hump for the first time last week. Ended up with 8 peices off an 8lb hump. My instructor also made the reccomendation of going "double thumb" when opening up. Hopefully it compresses and prevents S cracks in the fire. Thanks for posting this clip, super awesome!!
I like your comment about little imperfections making the piece very pretty. Lately I've been trying to focus less on perfection of the piece and more on charm.
Excelente, muchas gracias por el aporte

There is absolutely no reason this could be considered a "japanese" tea bowl.

@kidkabitzer agreed. nothing about this demo indicates a Japanese tea bowl.

Wow, aren't the wall and the lip extremely thick? I wonder how pleasant it is to drink from them. Cool, though.

they aren't really intended to be drank from considering they will be raku.
