But when I swang the Wii Remote to attack these green, ugly looking monsters yeah.

@Yannykan If you don't attack when you swing your wii mote is broken or your disk is scratched up really bad.

@Yannykan depending on what weapon you have equipped, you have to time your swings accordingly. For example, the first weapon you have, you have to swing your remote in kind of a tick tock rhythm. MasatoHyuga recommends using the rosary weapons because they basically require no timing, you can just swing the remote like a mad man!

@goldblaze93 To answer your question it's not exactly about wolves. You see, Okami in japanese means wolf. The kanji used to spell out the title mean great god, or great deity. The kanji is also used to spell out the name of the sun goddess Amaterasu, who is the main character in the game. Also, Amaterasu in the shinto religon is able to take the form of a wolf.

This game is purely based off of Japanese mythology. ;]

Ganondorf was pretty hard, unless you knew tricks to defeat him in his multiple forms, or knew someone who knew these tricks. The ability to use the items while on the horse was incredible, although very similar to SotC, a game much earlier than TP. I personally found Midna as annoying as this Issan?

A big chunk of Zelda is taken from any given mythological source you care to name and so is pretty much every fantasy game/book/movie/etc ever made ever. I would think everyone could see that due to the inclusion of fairies, dragons, zombies, potions, a sword in a stone, the chosen one originating from a secluded village, lizardmen, wagons, the apocalypse, one level themed around fire, ice, forest, winds, darkness, time... *falls asleep*

If you beat the game and continue the file on a new game you are left with all the weapons you had, 999,999 yen, 50 demon fangs and four different forms: the normal Ammy, a little bit smaller Ammy, fat Ammy and Ammy without the crimson shading. sorry for the lame naming of the forms, but they have no actual name, just "1", "2' and "3"

The reason why Okami may seem better than wolf Link is probably because TP isn't based on just being a wolf. You have to be a human too and Okami is based entirely on being a wolf, so they would obviously spend more time on the main character.

thought there are parallels, I don't think the concept of the wolf was directly derived from the zelda franchise, I think you can find its influence in the buildup of the game, with an occasional dungeon with a bossfight at the end, a big overworld, a nice story with many sidequests and of course little things like, well, the doors with the eyes on them really reminded me of zelda

The actual truth is that the Okami director was highly influenced by Twilight Princess and I found it quite rude that they rated TP lower than what it really was. TP directors even gave Okami a good rating. I mean, Okami is a great game and all, it's just that they are a bit of a copycat. Check wikipedia, they even say that Okami was influenced by TP.

Wii Motion + isn't even out yet, and I highly doubt they'd resale the game to incorporate it when there is almost NOTHING they could incorporate into.

The controls work perfectly, hopefully these videos can convince you of that. Though it depends and varies between people, it's personal prefrance as to which version people prefer, ilke my friend, when Okami PS2 came out, SOLD his copy of it since the brush was so dang slow for him. But he has the Wii version and loves it.

I'm not ver good with any weapon besides the rosaries, I heard rhythm's got to do something with it, can you confirm this, since rosaries don't seem to deal too much damage

The starting rosary is pretty much... Not strong, insanely weak. The 3rd one and up however, are pretty good (if you gold dust them). The last one can be bought before the end of the game at the point of no return (FYI).

And yes, rhythm has everything to do with Reflectors (swing remote just before attack ends, I can't say much as it is just second nature to myself). Glaives I just shake to charge and stop to attack.

If you are talking about the stray bead I found, if you get all 100 in the game you get something very, very, very nice.

If you are talking about the Rosary (bead) weapons, they are just a long rang rapid fire weapon. It however leaves you quite open to attacks and the enemies rarely flinch.
