The song is basically a II-V vamp... Bruce Carter is sick, RIP, and I love the bass line from Donny Hathaway's "The Ghetto" in the little breakdown portion.
Bruce Carter shows how good a drummer he is in this song. I could watch this video a thousand times, just to see the graceful way in which he plays the drums. RIP Bruce.
Vail has so much groove yet a lot of taste as well. That first part of the bass solo was just beautiful. Very lyrical and melodic type of playing... and then he took it up through the roof. Very cool!
Bruce Carter is on fire this night........bought the VCR tape, yeah that's right, the VCR tape as a 18 yr old and played it till the damn thing melted...........this was the Kenny that I fell in the love with.....he was super funky but then followed the money.....I'm not mad at all though, the Mr Gorelick went where he wanted. Much love and respect and thanks for the music!!!!!!!!!!
Music style Kenny G is called "smooth", "soul", melodic and romantic jazz, rhythm and jazz, blues, pop and funk. Kenny G plays jazz theme on tenor and soprano saxophone without sharp improvisations. He is the only jazz saxophonist, whose singles are presented in "pop" charts. Since the mid eighties and his name became synonymous with the genre "Smoothie-jazz", and no such thing as "modern music for adults".
Muito bom!

ok, how does he do the low D with a 4-string bass? Does he tune the E string down a whole step or does he tune down all 4 strings?
hansumjoe 2 years ago
just tunes down the e to a 'd'.
suzukigs 2 years ago
@hansumjoe Maybe like u say's, I did it on my basss, and let me tell ya, it'samazing how the bass sounds!
PICHICHI90 1 year ago
@hansumjoe the low string goes down an extra step to D (not de- tuned). That's what makes the Kubicki unique.
