@rokndady Rokn, may I join you in your praise of the one and ONLY Randy Meisner. How da hell did he ever get away from the Eagles. I like Timothy but he's no Randy.
@sunburstTeleman an exceptional vocalist has got or has developed a unique style of singing. You recognize the voice right away whether it's Hank Williams, George Jones, Willy Nelson or Randy Travis. Urban has not done this; his vocals remind me ot the countless, nameless, completely interchangeable female country vocalist you have now. I saw him live and he is good musician, but his music IMHO is neither fish nor fowl, not authentic country.
@ejgiv If you want "authentic" country then keep listening to Hank and George and Willy and Randy-but they are not what is selling now-and there is no way you could consider Willy Nelson and exceptional vocalist. Urban claims country roots and inspirations and calls himself a country artist. He promotes country music and that should be good enough.

@SunburstTeleman I am not sayng he sounds like a particular female vocalist, but simply that he voice hasn't got much unique character, i.e. does not stand out, - as most of today's female do not. Generally, I think country music has been in a state of decline for a long time now. It has become part of a plastic, suburb-ized, shoping mall culture, taking after the city of Nashville itself perhaps. The elite running the show is propagaing a watered-down, phony version of Americana IMHO:
@ejgiv I still don't think an opinion base on this video is fair. In my original post I recommended two KU videos. Did you watch them? If so, they do not alter your opinion of his voice at all?
With Ku's first couple of albums he was way more country than he is now and it didn't sell. Country has to change just like rock or anything else does. You may not like what is mainstream country now but it is what it is. Is there a popular country band that isn't based on pop as you lament?
If this is the song you pick to claim Keith is a "VERY mediocre vocalist" then I suggest you check out some other videos to broaden your perspective. For example, see Stupid Boy live version (Keith solo on an acoustic) and the You'll Think of Me (Best Live Performance). He doesn't need a studio to make him sound good-like a certain unnamed blond teenager. Who do you consider a good vocalist?
Please!!!take it to the limit one more time!!that has always been my favorite eagles song and hearing keith perform it...it's absolutley amazing!!!what a talented and diverse artist he is!!!♥luv him soo much!♥
I love this song and I love to hear Keith play it! It is also one of those songs that is fun to play, at least for me. I would love to play it with Keith one day. :)
Good job by Keith, but, and I'm almost sorry to say,but no one...NO ONE ..can do this song the way Randy Meisner did it...

For being a die-hard Eagles fan, I must say that good ol' Keith did a pretty good job.
