  • Hi Roland! You're the best drummer I've ever heard

  • noise rock is about being simple with a huge sound

  • Deutschland meets the boys from the meat capital of middle American!!!!

  • Roland is the best drummer of all time.

  • what a raping version!

  • I have "Songs about Fucking"on vinyl, sounds amazing!!

  • Does anyone else think this is actually a cover of the snakefinger version? lol

  • I have a copy of last blast on dvd, if anyone wants to do a trade, let me know.

  • God, I want the Last Blast so fucking bad. I've never been able to find a digital copy of it online. I have a rip of the VHS of the PIgpile show, but I can't find this. My Big Black collection will not be complete without it.

I did find a Norweigan trader recently with a DVD copy of it that is willing to do a blanks and postage trade for it, so I guess that's what I will end up doing.

  • @seakingkingking

NEVERMIND, I FOUND IT! The trader I was talking about sent it to someone to rip and they uploaded a torrent of at Dimeadozen org. You have to register to get it, but it takes 5 seconds and it's free.

  • actually played on BBC6 yesterday between 2-3(gmt) in afternoon...and they mentioned which album it came from....national radio!! only 24 years since it came out....

  • The best cover in the history!!

  • awesome cougars!

  • Great show - still have the vid - at a retired steam plant in Seattle - The Blackouts performed on a catwalk while it was still light out with everyone wandering around. Jesse Bernstien did a great reading - so disappointed his crack "This Is Music Asshole!"" didn't make the vid.

  • Songs about Fucking their best album! Still have it!

  • The great thing is that they just look like three white collar suburbian guys. But their music was some of the most mindnumbingly insane out there!

  • Great Roland!

  • I've never came across this before. Thanks!

  • It's version day....

  • one of the most influential bands

  • @lucpawlus10:

    haha yeaa with cover songs.

  • I like how they played this song multiple times when they had a shitty audience

  • Hey who gives a shit! Stop reading into things! Life is to short! Just for Christs sake enjoy! I like Kraftwerk but what the hell eh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve is far sexier than Ralph and the boys!!!!

  • this is a Kraftwerk cover.... hello!

  • Albini forever (great cover),and 12 FU was that not Wire?

  • No that was 12xu. later covered by minor threat.

  • Your right

  • still one of the best goth/industrial influences of all time

  • 'Shame that yanks can't/don't dance/respond.

  • minimalistic dancing m8

  • if you are right pieceofmindmusic, then yippie, him and steve will indeed meet again many moons later

  • yes indeed! it could be him, sorta looks like him, but i'm probably wrong, but i do know he was definitely at this gig. also i read that eddie vedder was there too but who cares amiright?

  • if im not mistaken....i think thats kurt cobain in the audience dead center at the bottom at about :45 nodding his head to the music.

  • Who cares if it is/isn't Kurt Cobain? The guy gets enough attention as is without having every late 80's band that didn't suck lumped in with his barely passable brand of 'rock.'

  • @5anjii i agree

  • Quite right. Enjoy the influential Big Black, forget the flash in the pan Cobain. Besides, nearly everybody male between 15 and 28 looked like Cobain back then. He didn't exactly create a style (satorically or musically)

  • maximum

  • 1 2 FUCK YOU

  • YES! AAAaa HA HA hA HA!

  • @ANOLDMANONCRACK 1 2 X U !

  • Horror!

  • Sounds like Joy Division meets Corrosion of Conformity (apart from Kraftwerk)

  • No, this sounds like Big Black.

  • excellent. big black owns.

  • one of the few really good covers of this song

  • i wonder where this was filmed at? tuts maybe?

  • This was at The Seattle Steam Plant at Big Black's last ever show.

  • was it? my bad.............out of all the covers i've heard, this one is the best!

    I love big black/shellac/rape man.

  • nope. you were correct.

  • kiss my bass, yeah

    great song

  • Fucking great song

  • ROFL i love how they miss out the high pitched final note kraftwerk have at the end because there aren't enough frets to get a note high enough HAHA

  • Amazing song. There are three bands that play it: Kraftwerk (original), Big Black (this), and also Rammstein. The three versions are radically different, with all but the melody and words unique to the performing band. And amazingly, all three versions are absolutely amazing. just very good.

  • Senior Coconut also covers this song!

  • oh piss. why didnt i find out about these guys earlier?

  • gotta dig steve

  • gota love big black

  • ONE TWO FUCK YOU

  • those guys scare me

  • big fucking black

  • fucking yeah!!!

  • ...Dude, this is fucking ace!

  • song about fucking a masterpiece, i think i stopped listen to rock after big black around 1990 and butthole surfers.......

anyone can post any rapeman tracks , this album was censured where i live ...

  • GO BIG BLACK

  • this aint bad, I like em.

  • This band was one of Richard Kruspes favourites

  • I know. Do you know whether or not this fact led to Rammstein also doing a cover of Das Modell?

  • it didnt

  • big black big sound big thanks for posting

  • did big black use a drum machine? Please tell because I'm a dumbass

  • Yeah.

  • yes they use a drum machine

    they use roland tr-606

    its nice vintage synthetizer

  • always. albini didnt like to rely on real people.

  • No, they had the invisible man druming for them.

  • it was a roland 808 drum machine they aptly named "roland"

  • This is an awesome and powerful piece.

  • better than rammstein's

  • steve albini - exacting studio technician and proponent of instrumental ineptitude. interesting juxtaposition.

  • I was expecting better out of big black. just not really my kind of sound.

  • but it sounds like big black.

  • im glad im not you

  • Wow, I like it! Very good cover! :)

  • Did Big Black use a drum machine?

  • Yes. In fact, they'd credit "Roland" as their drummer (Roland is the the brand of drum machine they used).

  • The original song is from Kraftwerk.

  • People voted you down, but yes it was "adapted" by Rammstein. They did a cover of it a few years ago.

  • This album is part of the reason I have Tinnitus. That and "Cop" by Swans.

  • One-two-fuck you! Their cover of Wire's Heartbeat was also great!

  • fucking classic

  • Makes me wanna drop my clothes

  • Great cover and great band Steve Albini i truly and original artist! his current band Shellac realy rocks!

  • charming!

  • great cover, great sound

  • soo good

  • Awesome cover -- one of those connections that make you go, first, "what the fuck?," and then "oh yeah."

  • awesome footage! man what nerdy specs on albini there lol.

    great stuff tho, thanks!!

  • Fantastic! I have a bad third generation copy of The Blast and the sound quality is terrible. This is my favorite Big Black video. If you could post any more of this video (especially Deep Six or Jordan Minnisota) It would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sorry , cant help you there. I actually got this vid from you tube a few months back and then it mysteriously dissappeared...
