FMOB's .. takes me back !!. Some used to joke that the best thing ever to come out of Wales was the severn bridge, but I would protest !!. It was without doubt BUDGIE .. the great unsung HERO'S of the 70's rock scene, ans still good to this day .. Burke Shelly should have got a knight hood , but given he's Welsh I suppose he should be grateful he wasn't hanged by the Britts for being so amazing !!.
u must read this. once u started there is no turnind back. a little 10 year? old girl was raped and murdured in 1945.her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not? copy? and paste this message. the dead? girl appeared? in his room haunting him? and killed hin. if ou do not copy and paste? this? onto 10 videos?? in 30 minutes the? dead girl will appear?in your room? tonight and haunt u and kill you. well? you better start to copy and paste if youwant to be saved
No singer could startle like Burke Shelley could.
Slipaway spends a minute seemingly introducing a straightforward rock ballad, then suddenly we have a latin-jazz inflected verse, with Burke's high, elegant and supple voice light years removed from "rock"!
Budgie has given us some great heavy riff songs like "Napoleon Bona."
Aside from "Make Me Happy" and "You Know I'll Always Love You," this is perhaps one of most beautiful arrangements acoustically ever done by these guys. Budgie ROCKS!.....Gently slip away.....
Pity there's no live footage of this brilliant song. around. Even a lyp-sync would be totally accepable!. Anyone know if such vidz can be found ? ANYWHERE? Best thing that Wales EVER produced Bar None!
ya know, it breaks my heart. Ya have an amazingly talented guitarist who can easily be in the top 50 guitarists of all time, yet, only a hand full of people have heard of him. This guy worked very hard n deserved to be recognized, but he isn't. Then we get people (like Justin Bieber) who never heard of good music, are by no means talented, don't care about the music or the fans (only money) and don't write their own songs. Poor Tony Bourge must be workin some shit job nowadays-it's not fair!
look my friend, all budgie discography, but only studio albumes: Discography - Studio albums: Budgie (1971) Squawk (1972) Never Turn Your Back on a Friend (1973) In For The Kill (1974) Bandolier (1975) If I Were Brittania I'd Waive the Rules (1976) Impeckable (1978) Power Supply (1980) Nightflight (1981) Deliver Us From Evil (1982) You're All Living in Cuckooland (2006)
This is great. Can anyone tell me the names of the first few Budgie albums.I have Impeckable on vinyl.Would like to try and find their first couple albums.
@wyattfourie This brings up a couple of points with me: First, I would LOVE to get my hands on any of the early albums, and second, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO PART WITH THEM? Are you a crazy man?!
LMK if you are serious about letting them go, and what you might want for them. Probably more than I have right now, but a guy can dream, right?
@SoapShopRocker do you know of their tour schedual.please let me know im a huge fan they are in my top five bands.going to see rush for the 8th time. they are doing the entire moving pictures album. also going to see the wall as well waters and compy .prob choas radio, peace and thanks to any one who can help me.
Thanx for the post. Tony B. was one of the best guitarists and under rated. Beautiful sound! I think we all like a romantic song once in a while. Great band! Hope to see the remasters and MP3 downloads soon. I like all the stuff prior to 1978 !
The best Budgie albums are the first and second one closely followed by the third album. 4 and 5 are good too. The heaviest album is the first one - switch the volume right up.
I played this album over and over, then some skank metal whore ripped it. CD is hard to find. This band was right up there w/ and over Rush and others, I don't know what happened. I'm thinking they got swindled by a record label or their manager ripped them off, or one of the members met a bloody Yokoshedemon who sniveled and the other two said later, lose the whore and we'll try it again. Sorry, got carried away in music biz Hell.
Budgie are astill going strong, still performing on a regular basis. Been a great band for well over 30 years. First saw them in 1978. Blody brilliant!
I had this album stolen from my car. This is a GREAT album. I only found out about them because of so many Bands that do cover songs of theirs. They are AWESOME!!!
yeah i found all there albums on pirates bay i just have to steal them i guess if that the only way it will be written it will be done.i also found out of you look into mca records you can find alot of unrelaesed music.i want to get crash landing by hendrix anoyher hard album to find.love this band only second to rush for me.its just that lyicaly rush is so over welming.write me back we acn hunt for some budgie albums.i have wanted to get their albums since vinyle died.peace
love this band but they are hard to find any where, please help me i need impeckable and dont turn your back on a friend ,and a few others.thankyou to all who care about the music.
I have never really heard Budgie before, but after checking some of the songs on Youtube out , I know I´m on to something big. I love what I´m hearing and this means a lot to me. Budgie is fantastic.
@garbus77 so true garbus77 thats my fav of theirs. great advice.the song parents is so f'n good its sick. thanks for posting a class act like the boys here.budgie is coming with in a 2 hour road trip. im going to see them i dont care what it takes. chance of a life time. i live in florida so sometimes we get passed cause its hard to fly down here and then move to next show. so true luck i may see them.peace.
Aren't they fantastic, and isn't this track beautiful? Shelley sounds like a jazz singer. He was that versatile, that good, and Budgie were a lot more than a "hard rock" band. Burke lives in my city of Cardiff UK and goes to a local rock pub. I've chatted with him a few times. He's a great guy, really friendly. I said where did "Hot As a Docker's Armpit" come from. He told me Steve Marriot (Faces, Humble Pie) used to often say it. Straight from the Budgie's mouth I got that!
@FLOYDRIX hey if you want i can tell you a site its real good never had problem sounds are always good.well i took every album budgie ever made they had the whole list so i have them all except a hits album i did not need cause i had all of them on the albums so if you want ill help you aquire all their albums for free. i bought one disc off the budgie welsh rockers site.they sell the cds of the past albums they are not cheap.. so i boot legged them.peace.
@ole9872 start with the first and stop before Impeckable, the last 3 is rubbish, though there are 1 or 2 realy nice stray cats on Nightfligt and Power Supply:)
Fucking Awesome group that never got the recognition that it earned. To It's fans Budgie could stand up to Led Zep any time and hold their own. Superb
