Cool! These are quite rare in this condition. They hadn't perfected the governor controlled motor in '55, so the playback has speed variations, but amazing by all measures. That is a really neat phono. ANY portable battery powered device with vacuum tubes is OK with me! Thanks for posting.
Oh Man!! GREAT Dave Clark Five video!! Great sound but I would sure like to hear it in it's entirety. Too bad Mike Smith passed away just two weeks prior to the DC5 being inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. Dennis Payton is gone too! =\

Congratulations on a great restoration; these RCA "Skippers" are very rare and almost impossible to find one that is working. Nice job.

The 6-BY-4's are are tube driven! The tubes are low voltage due to the DC current.
