    Thank You much!Very appreciated! Sal

  • Cool! These are quite rare in this condition. They hadn't perfected the governor controlled motor in '55, so the playback has speed variations, but amazing by all measures. That is a really neat phono. ANY portable battery powered device with vacuum tubes is OK with me! Thanks for posting.

  • @2n918 Thanks for the comment!

  • nice 1964 45 of Dave Clark Five - Bits And Pieces as well as the 1955 6-BY-4

  • Congratulations on a great restoration; these RCA "Skippers" are very rare and almost impossible to find one that is working. Nice job.

  • Thanks for the comment. These units are unique, and the pink/white combination is quite rare.

  • Oh Man!! GREAT Dave Clark Five video!! Great sound but I would sure like to hear it in it's entirety. Too bad Mike Smith passed away just two weeks prior to the DC5 being inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. Dennis Payton is gone too! =\

  • Hey nostalgiabuff. Thanks for the comment. These two battery units are my favorits. Just love the uniqueness and rarity.

Yes, the Sonotone ceramic cartridge makes these little gems sound great!

Hope to put more videos up as soon as I finish Grad School on Nov 17th!!!

  • No wonder Rock and Roll swept the world. It sounded so damned good on those things. Cool videos.

  • Thanks for the compliment! Hope you enjoy my vintage collection :)

  • Is that one of my repro batteries? If so, I'm very pleased to see the fruits of the labor in action!

  • Are you Bill????

  • Yep, that's me!

  • Alright!! Because of you, I got this beauty working again! :) Thank you so much!

  • DAVE CLARK FIVE! Hell yeah!

  • Did you say 10 9v and 2 D cells? WOW!!! How long does battery power last? Thanks for posting.

  • Quite a long time, especially if the record player is not used that often.

  • nice unit! is it solid state?

  • The 6-BY-4's are are tube driven! The tubes are low voltage due to the DC current.
