@12oscar12 Cant remember what that box was tuned too. I'm running 14.5 cf and 30 Hz now. But I would recommend at least 12 Cf after all displacement tuned to 35Hz. That should play a good variety for you!

@12oscar12  Check out PWK Designs. 50$ for the designs to a box made to optimize spl or audible loudness and sq? Its worth it. I have a PWK box for my 2512 and its more bass than I was expecting.

@quintonboffy Basically. If you plan on having anything over 1000 rms grab a good battery. Once you get around 2000rms and over a HO Alt is a must plus at least 2 Batts. Big 3 and 1/0 should also be standard on any system over 1000 rms IMO. Don't mess with Caps either!! They are bullshit!!!

i curently have a DD3518 on a soundstream t-2000, but i was thinking of upgrading to an audioque 2200 and a DD9518, do u think a 6cft box tuned to 35hz would be straight for the 9518 also

@robertlugo213 if you want to be in the 2- 4k power range they handle with ease as long as your electrical is not sending clipped power. I also cant say enough good thing about the sundown amps! Outstanding amps!

@SigmaBallistics The biggest reason for clipped signals is the gains turned up to high from not being tuned with volt and oscillation meters. Beyond that, not having proper wiring and a good electrical setup such as the right amperage from the alternator to the amp! If you plan on having a high power system that should be your first focus before buying amps and speakers! Upgrade your electrical system and your shit will sound amazing and less worrys about destroying it!

Also to make something clear about the 95 series. Yes they can handle much more power than rated. BUT they were made to be long lasting subs that were efficient at the rated power! id say you could run 2k rms a sub easy without worrying about long term spider problems and recones! That 3k plus a sub shit should be for those experienced enough to know that it will decrease the life of the sub a lot quicker! I have friends that can back this up. As for burps and all that DO IT!!!

If you have the power they sound great! Real bass? I have played the Bass Extreme album through them with amazement! I think these are some of the best subs made. They are expensive and people love to hate what they cant have! I will say the Sundown nightshades are probably the best subs for the money in the 1500-2000 rms power range. Im curious where you herd they sound like shit? Because I never hear anybody complain that has actually owned a Digital Designs. These subs are not even flexing!!

Thats a tuff call because it depends on enclosure and how much power your going to throw at them and what there going in. AQ is a well priced sub for what you get and the BTL is no doubt a monster! I would say for me it would be between the nightshades and BTL's. I would go Sundown personally though because they get just as loud with less power, so there more efficient subs for daily ground pounding.
