This lady is the reason I began watching Guiding Light. I thought Lisa Brown was and still is one of the finest actress' on daytime TV. I don't remember what happened to the cute guy playing here. I just remembered his name John Wesley Shipp.
@Sheri451 You do when she's Nola Reardon, giving all the shit she pulled in Springfield during the summer of '81. Of course, shortly thereafter, Nola "converted" to nice and became the heroine du jour.
@neworleansguy10 I don't remember Nola before she was pregnant with her baby Kelly Louise, later known as Stacey. I liked the red haired girl that played Morgan, I hated the blond girl who played her afterward.
Such fabulous acting. They don't cast people like Lisa Brown now. Wasn't this written immediately after the writers strike, and Marland had to send the scripts in by telephone?
Oh wow - memories. This was around the time I started watching (my grandmother got me hooked - she watched every day) I remember thinking I was supposed to hate Nola but I found her much more interesting than anyone else. I loved the story with her and 'Mr. McCord' too. He was so much better than Kelly anyway!
Lisa Brown deserved an Emmy for her 1980-81 work on this show. Perhaps no actress since Lara Parker played Angelique on "Dark Shadows" ( and SHE was a REAL witch) succeeded so brilliantly at making a character so hated. It's a wonder Brown could safely walk the streets of New York in these days without folks throwing things. Simply brilliant.
I was about their age at the time, so I remember it vividly. Lisa Brown is much too likable for them tyo have kept Nola a villan. That's ok. There were much better times ahead for Nola.
What's the YouTube clip called when Kelly finds out the truth?

I remember reading recently that Lisa Brown (Nola) did in fact receive HUGE volumes of incredibly hateful "fan" mail.
