@MrMastermind399 Are you seriously saying that? Did you see the fastbreak layup? Did you watch him play and take one handed jumpshots and hook shots over people? Yeah he dunks because he has the skill and power to do so, but the Shaq Man deserves more credit than you're giving him.
@tedwilli9 he can't.... when wilt got 100 he made 28 freethrows the most shaq got was 12 in a game. He had a professional free-throw teacher that seasom >_>
But I don't disagree with Wilt or Russell as the greatest. But to me personally, its The Dream. I just never saw a dude.dominate that position the way he did...
Actually, if you look up goat centers of all time its usually russell. Ppl get hung up on championships. Wilt was great, but his legacy is tarnished by the fact that he dominated a league full of bums. Kinda like floyd mayweather. Wilt was a physical specimen unheard of at the time. The next biggest dude was 6'10. Hakeem regularly faced dudes his size or bigger, and dudes defensively more talented than him (including 3 hofers) and won out many of those matchups
Naatars shaq was the mike tyson of centers. Hakeem was the lennox lewis.. Both great, and it comes down to which style you like best. I prefer skill over power. Therefore, to me, The Dream is the greatest "complete" center of all time. Though most would probably say the big O.
@QuebolaQuebolin Most would probably say Chamberlain, who was better in every way than Olajuwon and O'Neal. He was a better scorer, better rebounder, better shot blocker, and better passer. Oops, but Olajuwon had a better free throw shot. So, not every way, but virtually every way.
Do you people watch basketball? Shaq was a great center yes. The admiral was a damn stat machine be4 his back injury. O'neal wasn't nearly as complete as #50 was. And as for the dream, There wasn't a man that could handle him. Even Mr. Robinsons neighborhood got burglarized by the Dream. I cant believe how people rate Shaq over Hakeem. Hakeem would smoke him all day every day.
People rate Shaq over Hakeem because Shaq has a higher scoring average, more total points, and more rings.
Shaq carried 6 teams to the NBA Finals, thats more than DROB and Hakeem put together. Shaq is a beast with 3 Finals MVPs and the highest field goal pct of all time. Dominant!
I don't care what anybody has said below this comment. Shaq dominated in the NBA for most of his career. If he wasn't dominating, then why would people worry about doing the Hack-a-Shaq? He was a beast on the block. Yea he didn't have the shooting touch that other centers had. But does that mean he wasn't dominating.? Hell no. Ask anyone who has ever played against him and I'm sure they will all say he was a dominating force
@5042024 By your definition Mutombo must be the greatest center because he had tons of Blocks/rebounding titles. But how many TITLES does he have? None! PRIME Shaq dominated rebounds when it MATTERED: playoffs.
Highest RPG in 2000
Highest RPG in 2001.
Stop being a regular season whore and look at the big picture. Shaq existed in the greatest era for Centers and he won the most rings and scored the most points. He IS the best.
@Nataars nope but you did touch on my point there were to many good centers during shaqs era for him to be considered the most dominant cuz like i said if better centers like d robinson and olajuwon didnt dominate how could shaq have dominated/ mutombo was a better blocker during his era/ jordan was a better scorer during his era/ rodman was a better rebounder during his era and so on LIKE I SAID SHAQ NEVER DOMINATED THE NBA NOT EVEN CLOSE could have should have but didnt not dominant though
@5042024 The only way Robinson and Olajuwon could equal Shaq is if they added there rings together.
-Alonzo Mourning got his ring as Shaqs backup.
-Ewing, Mutombo, Yao, Dwight and Sabonis never won anything! I think its safe to say that Shaq was the dominant center. Led the league in FG% 10 fuckin times. More than Wilt chamberlain against tougher competition.
@Nataars ok 1st rings are won as a team you cant dominate any team no matter how good you are to win rings it takes a team effort/ take shaqs 1st ring if horry doesnt make that miracle shot against the kings guess what shaq doesnt win that tittle that year/ i hope you see my point/ 2nd again if hes field goal% was so great and he was basicly unstopable then why only 1 or 2 scoring tittles if he was unstopable dont you think he should have been on top of the league over and over again?
like i said if any shaq fan wants to give me a link were it proves shaq won more than 1or2 scoring tittles then prove me wrong if any has a link were it proves he won more than 1or2 blocking tittles then prove me wrong IF ANY HAS A LINK WERE IT PROVES HE WON 1 REBOUNDING TITTLE then prove me wrong imagin that the most dominant center of his era has not 1 rebounding tittle 1 blocking tittle(if that) 1or2 scoring tittles in his entire career even in his prime he was playing behind other players
@5042024 Mutombo cant score, Rodman is not a shot blocker and Jordan is not a rebounder. Shaq was the best combination of scorer/blocker/rebounder there was. Top class in all 3 categories
He averaged over 26 points, 10 rebs and 2 Blks nine times in his career.
@Nataars but is mutombo rodman etc considered the most dominate of their era? not even jordan who alot of people consider the greatest of all time is called the most dominant of his era so please tell me how shaq is considered the most dominant of all time cuz remember his era had more talent than wilts/ but still he has ZERO rebounding tittles the biggest and stongest ZERO REB TITTLES does he even have a thriple dbl cuz hakeem and drob have many and a little thing called a QUADRUPLE DOUBLE
@Nataars dont get me wrong he was a great player the numbers you put upare impresive but that doesnt mean he dominated/ also remember he was taken out of games in the final seconds in crucial games due to his free throw liability if he was an unstopable force with the greatest field perc. of all time then why did his coaches tell his teamates not to pass him the ball and even worse take him out of the game/ he lacked natural talent his strenght size and speed made him what he is NOT BBALL TALENT
Just a few things I want to clarify. Chamberlain played in a time where you were allowed to catch your teammates shot and then dunk it. He did that quite often. In addition, Shaq played the majority of his career without the restricted area. You see, the NBA implemented that little half cylinder underneath because NO ONE could legitimately guard him w/o flopping. In addition, Olajuwon won his titles when Jordan "left" and Robinson didn't win until Duncan came along. Thanks for the discussion.
@sander977 I guess that's what I was trying to point out -- that the people who say Shaq wasn't dominant are being stupid. Sure Shaq isn't dominant NOW, but criticizing him for that is the same as saying that since Bill Russell hasn't won anything recently he's garbage. Time and tide will wear the largest mountain down to nothing, but that doesn't mean the mountain wasn't once majestic and powerful.

@5042024 Your telling me how to read first learn how to write Ass. Just because your a fat ass doesn't mean everyone else is. And just because you suck dick doesn't mean I do.
@sander977 another NERD that needs perfect grammar hahaha lol dude how stupid are you, i called shaq fat not you(you really need to learn how to read)but i guess i hit a sensitive nerve huh, you must be 1 fat little pig now go have some food you little piggy cuz i can tell your really pist off shaqs dick isnt there with you, you closet homo whos in love with shaq
@5042024 Your calling me a NERD Damn you people must be pretty dumb. Why do you watch these video if u don't like Shaq. Just because he's better than you doesn't mean you call him bad. Whos your favorite player Rudy GAY i bet. Cause thats what you ARE go suck on his dick Gay ass. You realize everyone here hates you so you should just shut the fuck up Bitch!
@sander977 listen you fat gay nerd, 1st whats it to you why i watched this video? 2nd when did i ever say he sucked? 3rd your the 1 who brought up all this gay and fat jokes which led me to beleive your a fat gay shaq lover which i could care less its your ass and mouth if you want to put dicks in it, thats on you/ finally what NBA did you watch that you saw shaq dominate the league? cuz like i said during shaqs era jordan dominated scoring rodman dominated the boards / shaq was always 2nd best
@sander977 ill put it to you like this(maybe your shaq loving mind will see the truth) karl malone was 1 of the greatest scorers of his era/ he had huge averages between 28pts per game to about 30pts per game for multiple seasons BUT why isnt he considered the most dominate scorer of his era huh? OH YEAH CUZ HE WAS ALWAYS BEHIND JORDAN just like shaq was always behind somebody in scoring blocks and espeacially REBOUNDS again what did he dominate?
@5042024 Shaq has the highest field goal % in NBA history. Basically he would not miss once he got the ball in the paint, no one could stop him. There isnt a better paint scorer than Shaq.
@Nataars then why does he have only 1 or 2 scoring tittles in his entire career if he basicly didnt miss why couldnt he lead the league more than twice? (never count the old years) see the point i never said he sucked i necer said he wasnt a hall of famer, BUT TO CALL HIM THE MOST DOMINANT OF HIS ERA IS JUST PLAIN STUPID!!! like i said he was to fat and lazy/ he was always 2nd best to someone wether it was scoring, blocking, and espeacially REBOUNDING he never was best in the league NOT ONCE!!!
if any shaq fan wants to dispute this give me a link where i can find how many rebound tittles he won, oh you cant cuz he never won 1, that means in every 1 of the seasons he played in the NBA somebody was better than him in the rebounding department, so how is that dominating the boards/ shaq fans tell me how many blocking tittles does he have huh? again for the majority of his career he was behind other players SO WHAT DID HE DOMINATE, CERTAINLY NOT THE NBA!!! not scoring reb. or blocking!!!
by the way the centers main categorys to DOMINATE are rebounds scoring and blocking, plaese tell me how he DOMINATED when he only has 1or2 scoring tittles and 1or2 blocking tittles and ZERO rebounding tittle ITS NOT MY OPINION ITS A FACT CANT DISPUTE THE TRUTH!!! so stupid shaq fans stop with your dellusions he was an all star and is going to be a hall of famer BUT HE NEVER DOMINATED THE LEAGUE, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH!!!
@ralfon1 exactly wilt was the 1 who dominated the league in his era, his numbers will never be matched again, thats what DOMINATING means to be the best to have the best numbers block scoring and rebounds(centers dutys)russel was a better winner he had the tenacity to help his teamates win championships, thats what made him speacial,a born champion BUT RUSSEL NEVER DOMINATED THE LEAGUE THAT HONOR DOES GO TO WILT remember rings are won as a team 1 player can never be dominate enough to beat a team
So winning is overrated and should not be a deciding factor in determining the greatness of a player because statistics clearly tell us everything we need to know about an individual's production. Well, I will say that I disagree with you but I think that's an interesting point of view.
@ralfon1 not at all winning is everything in my opinion, rings is what its all about. my point on shaq is he wasnt DOMINANT like wilt was you can say they were the biggest and strongest of their eras and if you compare their numbers theyre not even close/ wilt was on a league of his own he was unstopable and his statistics show it/ shaq on the other hand doesnt have many tittles that prove he was the league leader which means somebody else was better than him in those seasons
@ralfon1 look at horry he has more rings than shaq but hes not even close to how good shaq was/ all im saying is shaq wasnt the dominant center of his era cuz centers like d. robinson and olajuwon were better they were the league leaders of the NBA during their prime and in my opinion they were better 1 more thing shaq started to win tittles till the lakers got phill and kobe matured into a great player not to mention fisher and horrys magic shots thats why rings you win as a team
@5042024 Check Shaqs NBA Finals averages before you start popping off. 38 ppg 33 ppg 36 ppg . Thats what he averaged when the stakes were highest! Compare that to wilt Chamberlain who's averages plummeted during the playoffs.
It took 2 or 3 players just to guard Shaq and when that didnt work they resorted fouls. Unstoppable in the paint.
@Nataars then why didnt he lead the league in scoring more than 1 or twice in his entire career why didnt he win tittles everytime he got to the finals if he was unstopable LIKE I SAY HE WAS TO LAZY TO PUT IN THE EFFORT/ and in my opinion it wasnt shaq that led the lakers to the rings it was till kobe matured into a hall of fame player that the lakers became a dynasty not to mention players like horry fisher and their magical shots with out some of their shots lakers dont win certain tittles
@5042024 You dont know anything about the modern Center position. They are totally dependent on someone else getting them the ball, Thats why they dont win scoring titles. Guards like Iverson, Kobe and Jordan have the ability to take the ball up themselves, thats why they get the awards.
In the last 30 years only 3 scoring titles were won by Centers! 2 of those 3 were won by SHAQ!!! The most dominant Center of our era.
@Nataars nope if what you say is true then shaq would have won a tittle before they got kobe but that didnt happen not only that shaq got swept by the rockets when he had such a good team in the magic and clear;y he was the main guy like i said he wasnt even close to being a leader/ 2nd ill give you scoring does go through the guard so i guess shaq didnt dominate scoring for that reason/ but what about blocking and rebounding whats the excuse for him never being best in those categorys
@Nataars you see what im saying he never dominated the league not even close/ to dominate is to be the absolute best without argument, which isnt the case for shaq cuz like i said he never led the league in rebounds there for he couldnt have dominated that category he didnt lead the league in blocks more than once again didnt dominate the blocks the same goes for scoring assists steals he was always behind somebody else SO HOW COULD HE HAVE DOMINATED dont take my word for it, look up its history
@Nataars even though im a shaq hater i still give him the respect he deserves he will be a 1st time ballot hall of famer and easily top 10 centers of all time but no way did he dominate the NBA not even close in my opinion david robinson and hakeem olajuwon were better than him they had so much more natural talent than him their shooting skills were out of shaqs range/ and in my opinion neither d robinson or hakeem dominated the NBA SO EASILY SHAQ NEVER DOMINATED THE NBA
You got it backwards man. The lakers won their titles back when Shaq was the MAIN guy. The year Kobe started scoring more is when they started losing. Check the stats!
Kobe is an idiot to take so many shots when Shaqs FG% is over 100 points higher than his. They couldve had more rings than the BUlls if Kobe wasnt so stubborn.
@Nataars 1 more thing about kobe he has 5 rings 2 without shaq/ so why even question kobes ability to lead a team to the rings kobe will be 1 of the all time bests too/ if anything it was shaqs inability to compromise his leader staus that destroyed the lakers dynasty just like in orlando the rift between him and penny was what broke that team apart/ and they had a team that coud have won tittles but didnt cuz shaq backstabed orlando and came to the lakers
@Nataars like i said shaq could have been the most dominant force of his era but that just didnt happen the NBA has a regular season wether he liked it or not and he just never dominated or else his name would be on the trophys that clarify who was the best for that year in which ever category rebs blocks etc/ think about it with his size and strenght he never won a rebounding tittle not once the biggest and strongest player never won a rebounding tittle he was never best at reboungs not once
@sander977 hahaha lol tell you what you go have yourself a happy gay fat life and hopefully you get all the dicks you dream of/ cuz clearly you know nothing about basketball
@5042024 ha ha ive been playing for 12 years and i'm 15. How long have you been playing a month all you've been doing is sucking on dicks and watching sports with your boyfriend, dickhead.
@TheBaarty i might be an ass but that still means SHAQ NEVER DOMINATED ANYTHING if that gets you butt hurt thats on you/ remember the greatest the strongest the most talented the unstopable force the MOST DOMINATE OF HIS ERA never won a rebounding tittle NEVER NOT ONCE oops i guess im wrong he clearly dominated every aspect of basketball hahahaha lol TO LAZY TO LAZY TO LAZY HE DIDNT PUT THE EFFORT TO ACTUALLY DOMINATE/ now go blow shaq you know you want you retarded shaq lover
I'm no basketball fan but after watching the top playoff plays of Larry Bird this looks boring. It's just a big guy under the ring jumping and dunking the ball in. He's just using his imposing physique. Mind you, I'm no expert or even an amateur in this sport so I might be wrong and might be misjudging the guy and underestimating the greatness of what is shown here.
@redassasain18 thats cuz although kobe travels he still has AMAZING footwork. while lebron takes 4 steps for a layup and is just bad at footwork. You know lebron is the ONLY superstar in nba history to suck at shooting, footwork AND freethrows. NBA tried to push him too hard, they wanted him to be the next Jordan. I gotta admit he is the best right now, but thats only because kobe is old and declining very fast. when kobe was 26, he was unstoppable. lebron can be stopped as shown by Dallas
@dmitry1337 lol.... even though he had a poor performance against dallas, i still think he can't be stopped. i just think that now hes on miami sometimes i late game situations he looks out of the flow of the game and when he IS in it, he seems kind of hesitant to take over. if we were to compar kobe as number 8 to lebron 23, they were equally unstopable, but id choose lebron 23 over kobe 8. cuz any given night lebron 23 could give u 40 10 and 10, kobe 8 could only give u 50 or 60 points..
@dmitry1337 besides even though lebron and his team LOST to dallas, kobe and his team got SWEPT by dallas, and there was NOTHING kobe could do for his team. and id take a full statline any day over just pure scoring, thats what makes lebron a better player than kobe. Lebron unlike kobe has the full package a superstar of there caliber should have passing rebounding blocking scoring high effiecncy rating, i mean not to sound like a dick rider but lebron has it all when kobe only has a few...
@redassasain18 i respect your opinion but when has lebron scored 40-10-10? very very few times that i remember. where as kobe scores 60 points in 3 quarters many times and his team is up by so much that the coach doesn't even need him to play the entire 4th quarter. true lebron has he "statistical package" but kobe has the clutch package and pure scoring. thats what shooting guards are for right? i really think lebron will be better than kobe one day, but it doesn't seem that has happened yet.
@dmitry1337 lol... great arguement BUT, that day has already come i dont understand why you can't see that.. yea lebrons stats are better than kobe but if you just watch him play, hes a better leader his court vision is insane for a player his size, basically what im sayin is kobe is a one dimensional player, lebron has many different dimensions, and thats what makes him better!
@redassasain18 michael jordan is also a one dimensional player, does that mean lebron is better than him too? so is wilt chamberlain and many others. the difference is even though they are one dimensional, they EXCEL at that one way of playing that they do. also the clutch factor, in hitting the game winning shots is what makes kobe a better player.
@redassasain18 and lebron is not a better leader lol.. you need to watch the team usa road to redemption videos. they brought in kobe bryant and jason kidd for leadership. if lebron was a leader, they wouldn't have to
@redassasain18 not to mention kobe is 33 years old, has played 15 seasons in the nba. kobe put up those numbers with an ARTHRITIC knee, and 2 fractured fingers. at his age and with those injuries he still dominates the game. thats why i think kobe is still the best
@5042024 No thank you for the laughs. You both sound like little kids going back & forth arguing about shaqs career. And youtube isnt meant to be debating about bullshit but I guess since to you it seems ok then go for it. You obviously have too much time on your hands
@sYnergy626 hahaha lol again thanks for the laugh your to funny ok 1st who argued me bdowden had a good debate about shaq we never argued about anything in fact he gave very good points on shaq some of which i didnt know as far as to much time in my hands your wrong again i work a shit load of hours and when i got any time off im usually at casinos so its the oposite i wish i had more time to watch AND COMMENT on youtube videos youtube wasnt around when i was really into basketball(the 90s)
@sYnergy626 and by the way who sounds like a little kid "go get a room" hahaha lol seems like you have to much time on your hands afterall it seems you took the time to read our comments anyway thanks for the laugh have a good and lucky day i hope i will on my way to casino right now peace
classical US sport star, a lot of fouls, elbows when attacking, but you americans made his personal cult so why not. For me more wrestler then athlete or bplayer
@liljim10 Really? That's why Priest Lauderdalle dominated the NBA right? At 7'4", 320 pounds, the dude by your logic should have been the best player in the world. But he wasn't. He was out of the league in three seasons. Which further proves my point. You have to have some skill to go with the size, or you won't make it.
In the beginning it was like watching somebody perform "magic" he would play with such fire, such "heat" that all others would envy. In games you thought he was out to only rise up like a mighty phoenix, with the power of 10 "suns". However, if you were to ask shaq, he would ofcourse be "cavalier" about of his actions. Always ready for the next battle, like a "celtic" warrior he carried on. He will be most remembered for his huge size and strength, like that of a "Laker" ship. -Kobe
I'VE WATCHED SHAQ PLAY ALL 19 YEARS THE MOST DOMINANT CENTER IN NBA HISTORY NOW HE RETIRED TODAY IT WON'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT THANK YOU SHAQ LOVE AND YOU WILL BE MISSED MY IDOL :-(!
I've been watching ESPN and NBATV all. I'm getting really annoyed how everyone is so easily able to put Wilt, Russell, and Kareem over Shaq. Maybe they are, but they say it as if there is absolutely no argument at all for Shaq. Or they say, he's a "step" below them. At the very least, he's in that group.
@escobar60099 yea i get annoyed at that too, in my opinion and many others' shaq is the all time most dominant center next to Wilt. Russell won lots of rings but could never put up numbers like those 2. Kareem was also great but could never push around ppl like those 2, he was more of a finesse player but he did win 5 rings, is all time scoring champ, and was more durable. Thats the case you can make for kareem.. All in all, i think shaq and wilt are tied on number 1, then kareem, then russell.
@gioDMP how could you compare shaq with wilt and russel unlike shaq they put the effort to win the reb scoring blocking tittles thats why they dominated cause they have the awards to show for it like ive always said shaq was to LAZY to win those awards he never won a reb tittle aside from blocks thats a centers main stat he never won 1 how did he dominated not even hakeem or d robinson dominated like wilt and in my opinion they better than shaq they have the blocking reb tittles that shaq doesnt
@5042024 the rebounding numbers back then cant be compared to now. But Shaq should have won at least 1 rebounding title. He does have more 20-10 seasons than all of those guys. David Robinson isn't in Shaq's league. Not even close. Wilt and Hakeem, you can argue those guys. As great as Russell is, I think Shaq and Wilt are better. 11 rings but those teams were stacked. He was the man though. But Russell won a lot of games against Wilt, when Wilt destroyed him. His team was better.
@5042024 So you gonna keep shaq out of the picture just cuz of some stupid award? Well lets keep wilt out of the picture cuz he has less rings than shaq. And rings count more than a rebounding award. Before you come to me with the whole horry won 6 rings bs i want you to understand that there has been no center as dominant as shaq other than wilt. And i mean talent, athletic, and size wise. When shaq was in his moment he was the most dominant force in the nba.
@gioDMP no im taking him out cause he didnt put the efort in like the the other all time greats like you said he was the biggest and strongest player of his time yet didnt lead the league in rebs only led the league in blocks once i think led the league in scoring like once too (dominant means dominating)so how did he dominate yes he is 1 of the all time greats but nowhere near as dominant as shaq fans claim nowhere near wilt or russel they truly dominated and the awards prove it ITS HISTORY NOW
@5042024 You also have to realize who Wilt played against... Wilt was that much larger than every single person he played against, by many inches, which was the reason that he got what 50 rebounds and 100 points in a single game. Cause he could just out jump everybody while also being like 5+ inches over everybody.
@gioDMP by the way dominating has nothing to do with rings cause those you win as a team without great teamates you cant win a tittle and remember it was till kobe matured to being 1 of the greats too was shaq able to win a tittle fisher horry kobe were HUGE parts of their tittles so rings have nothing to do with our debate here were talking about him being called the most dominant of his time when he wasnt remember d robinson hakeem they have most of the awards that prove they were the league-
@gioDMP leaders of their time(which was shaq era)they were the leauge leaders in blocks reb MULTIPLE times they had better numbers at the end of the year than shaq in many seasons again how did he dominate and remember rodman now he dominated the boards for a good while and the "stupid"awards prove it its history cant change the fact anymore so again shaq dominated what?not reb blocks scoring etc see my point he is top10 of all time but not ahead of wilt russel or hakeem drobinson for that mater
@5042024 answer me this, take wilt, russel, robinson, kareem in their primes and put them on the court against a prime shaq. Now, do u see any of them dominating shaq? absolutely not. In fact, shaq wouldve been dunking on them. They wouldve had the hardest time defending such a monster. Thats why i claim shaq up there, awards or not you know this man was unstoppable in his prime. And your right, every superstar has had help to win rings, i only brought it up cuz u claim awards are important.
@gioDMP simple wilt russel might have trouble with him cause they were long and somewhat skinny but as far as hakkem d robinson they were flat out shooters they dont need to dunk to take over a basketball game their speed and outside shooting along with their freethrow shooting ability would with out a doubt beat shaqs dunking ability remember their 7footers who can foul him and send him to the line were again his shooting liability would work against him he wouldnt dominate or did
@gioDMP your missing the point with the awards/ awards are given to league leaders the person that dominated the league in a category is given the award that proves they were the best in that category so if shaq doesnt have the awards that prove he dominated then how did he dominate HE DIDNT he could have been the all time most dominant but like i said he was just to lazy he didnt put the effort like hakeem d robinson they dominated the 90s their awards prove it unlike shaq
@5042024 With your explanation that makes shaq dominant, you can only foul the man so many times. He used to pose many nightmares to teams cuz of that. Sure shaq wasnt a shooter but his post play was unmatched. He was agile and strong with incredibly quick feet and under rated passing ability. In his prime he wouldve taken out any center, including the ones you have ahead of him. Yes shaq didnt win those awards, and ill give you that much. But you gotta admit, no one could gaurd him in his prime
@gioDMP no but ill give you that his strenght was like no other but when he went head to head with robinson hakeem he didnt dominate they usally had better numbers at the end of games than him like i said he didnt dominate or else why did he never lead the league in scoring on a regular bases?like you said his strenght was unmatch yet he couldnt lead the league in scoring like wilt that tribute goes to jordan now he dominated the offense history(awards)prove it
@5042024 When did Robinson ever have the upper hand over O'neal? Most Spurs fans will attest to O'neal consistently killing D-Robinson. Hakeem had Shaq's number, though Shaq still had great games against him.
1. Kareem 1a.Wilt 2. Jordan 3. Magic 4. Bird 5. Worthy 6. Hakeem 7. Kobe 8. Russel 9. Malone (either one) 10. Shaq Kareem without a doubt is the best player of all time because he is the only player with an unblockable shot. The sky hook was instigated and perfected by him, and we'll probably never see it again Wilt scored 100 (but against a team without anyone above 6'7") I forgot John Stockton Hon. Men. Robert Horry Ray Allen Allen Iverson KG Penny And so many others I can't think of now
I'm not hating on shaq but all he does is dunk on offense
MrMastermind399 1 month ago
@MrMastermind399 Are you seriously saying that? Did you see the fastbreak layup? Did you watch him play and take one handed jumpshots and hook shots over people? Yeah he dunks because he has the skill and power to do so, but the Shaq Man deserves more credit than you're giving him.

But I don't disagree with Wilt or Russell as the greatest. But to me personally, its The Dream. I just never saw a dude.dominate that position the way he did...
QuebolaQuebolin 4 months ago

QuebolaQuebolin 4 months ago

Hackerpschorr691 6 months ago
@Hackerpschorr691
Dominant!
Nataars 6 months ago
I don't care what anybody has said below this comment. Shaq dominated in the NBA for most of his career. If he wasn't dominating, then why would people worry about doing the Hack-a-Shaq? He was a beast on the block. Yea he didn't have the shooting touch that other centers had. But does that mean he wasn't dominating.? Hell no. Ask anyone who has ever played against him and I'm sure they will all say he was a dominating force
jcbailey90 6 months ago
@5042024 By your definition Mutombo must be the greatest center because he had tons of Blocks/rebounding titles. But how many TITLES does he have? None! PRIME Shaq dominated rebounds when it MATTERED: playoffs.
Highest RPG in 2000
Highest RPG in 2001.
Stop being a regular season whore and look at the big picture. Shaq existed in the greatest era for Centers and he won the most rings and scored the most points. He IS the best.
Nataars 6 months ago
@Nataars nope but you did touch on my point there were to many good centers during shaqs era for him to be considered the most dominant cuz like i said if better centers like d robinson and olajuwon didnt dominate how could shaq have dominated/ mutombo was a better blocker during his era/ jordan was a better scorer during his era/ rodman was a better rebounder during his era and so on LIKE I SAID SHAQ NEVER DOMINATED THE NBA NOT EVEN CLOSE could have should have but didnt not dominant though
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024 The only way Robinson and Olajuwon could equal Shaq is if they added there rings together.
-Alonzo Mourning got his ring as Shaqs backup.
-Ewing, Mutombo, Yao, Dwight and Sabonis never won anything! I think its safe to say that Shaq was the dominant center. Led the league in FG% 10 fuckin times. More than Wilt chamberlain against tougher competition.
Nataars 6 months ago
@Nataars ok 1st rings are won as a team you cant dominate any team no matter how good you are to win rings it takes a team effort/ take shaqs 1st ring if horry doesnt make that miracle shot against the kings guess what shaq doesnt win that tittle that year/ i hope you see my point/ 2nd again if hes field goal% was so great and he was basicly unstopable then why only 1 or 2 scoring tittles if he was unstopable dont you think he should have been on top of the league over and over again?
5042024 6 months ago
like i said if any shaq fan wants to give me a link were it proves shaq won more than 1or2 scoring tittles then prove me wrong if any has a link were it proves he won more than 1or2 blocking tittles then prove me wrong IF ANY HAS A LINK WERE IT PROVES HE WON 1 REBOUNDING TITTLE then prove me wrong imagin that the most dominant center of his era has not 1 rebounding tittle 1 blocking tittle(if that) 1or2 scoring tittles in his entire career even in his prime he was playing behind other players
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024 Mutombo cant score, Rodman is not a shot blocker and Jordan is not a rebounder. Shaq was the best combination of scorer/blocker/rebounder there was. Top class in all 3 categories
He averaged over 26 points, 10 rebs and 2 Blks nine times in his career.
Hakeem only accomlished this 4 times
Robinson twice.
Nataars 6 months ago
@Nataars but is mutombo rodman etc considered the most dominate of their era? not even jordan who alot of people consider the greatest of all time is called the most dominant of his era so please tell me how shaq is considered the most dominant of all time cuz remember his era had more talent than wilts/ but still he has ZERO rebounding tittles the biggest and stongest ZERO REB TITTLES does he even have a thriple dbl cuz hakeem and drob have many and a little thing called a QUADRUPLE DOUBLE
5042024 6 months ago

5042024 6 months ago
@sander977 ill put it to you like this(maybe your shaq loving mind will see the truth) karl malone was 1 of the greatest scorers of his era/ he had huge averages between 28pts per game to about 30pts per game for multiple seasons BUT why isnt he considered the most dominate scorer of his era huh? OH YEAH CUZ HE WAS ALWAYS BEHIND JORDAN just like shaq was always behind somebody in scoring blocks and espeacially REBOUNDS again what did he dominate?
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024 Dude nobody cares about that era look at THIS era ass. Ha ha put dicks in my mouth, that makes you gay not me lol.
sander977 6 months ago
@5042024 Shaq has the highest field goal % in NBA history. Basically he would not miss once he got the ball in the paint, no one could stop him. There isnt a better paint scorer than Shaq.
Nataars 6 months ago
5042024 6 months ago
if any shaq fan wants to dispute this give me a link where i can find how many rebound tittles he won, oh you cant cuz he never won 1, that means in every 1 of the seasons he played in the NBA somebody was better than him in the rebounding department, so how is that dominating the boards/ shaq fans tell me how many blocking tittles does he have huh? again for the majority of his career he was behind other players SO WHAT DID HE DOMINATE, CERTAINLY NOT THE NBA!!! not scoring reb. or blocking!!!
5042024 6 months ago
by the way the centers main categorys to DOMINATE are rebounds scoring and blocking, plaese tell me how he DOMINATED when he only has 1or2 scoring tittles and 1or2 blocking tittles and ZERO rebounding tittle ITS NOT MY OPINION ITS A FACT CANT DISPUTE THE TRUTH!!! so stupid shaq fans stop with your dellusions he was an all star and is going to be a hall of famer BUT HE NEVER DOMINATED THE LEAGUE, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH!!!
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024
By you logic Bill Russell didn't dominate his era even though Wilt Chamberlain was in it?
ralfon1 6 months ago
@ralfon1 exactly wilt was the 1 who dominated the league in his era, his numbers will never be matched again, thats what DOMINATING means to be the best to have the best numbers block scoring and rebounds(centers dutys)russel was a better winner he had the tenacity to help his teamates win championships, thats what made him speacial,a born champion BUT RUSSEL NEVER DOMINATED THE LEAGUE THAT HONOR DOES GO TO WILT remember rings are won as a team 1 player can never be dominate enough to beat a team
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024
So winning is overrated and should not be a deciding factor in determining the greatness of a player because statistics clearly tell us everything we need to know about an individual's production. Well, I will say that I disagree with you but I think that's an interesting point of view.
ralfon1 6 months ago
@ralfon1 not at all winning is everything in my opinion, rings is what its all about. my point on shaq is he wasnt DOMINANT like wilt was you can say they were the biggest and strongest of their eras and if you compare their numbers theyre not even close/ wilt was on a league of his own he was unstopable and his statistics show it/ shaq on the other hand doesnt have many tittles that prove he was the league leader which means somebody else was better than him in those seasons
5042024 6 months ago
@ralfon1 look at horry he has more rings than shaq but hes not even close to how good shaq was/ all im saying is shaq wasnt the dominant center of his era cuz centers like d. robinson and olajuwon were better they were the league leaders of the NBA during their prime and in my opinion they were better 1 more thing shaq started to win tittles till the lakers got phill and kobe matured into a great player not to mention fisher and horrys magic shots thats why rings you win as a team
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024 Check Shaqs NBA Finals averages before you start popping off. 38 ppg 33 ppg 36 ppg . Thats what he averaged when the stakes were highest! Compare that to wilt Chamberlain who's averages plummeted during the playoffs.
It took 2 or 3 players just to guard Shaq and when that didnt work they resorted fouls. Unstoppable in the paint.
Nataars 6 months ago
@Nataars then why didnt he lead the league in scoring more than 1 or twice in his entire career why didnt he win tittles everytime he got to the finals if he was unstopable LIKE I SAY HE WAS TO LAZY TO PUT IN THE EFFORT/ and in my opinion it wasnt shaq that led the lakers to the rings it was till kobe matured into a hall of fame player that the lakers became a dynasty not to mention players like horry fisher and their magical shots with out some of their shots lakers dont win certain tittles
5042024 6 months ago
@5042024 You dont know anything about the modern Center position. They are totally dependent on someone else getting them the ball, Thats why they dont win scoring titles. Guards like Iverson, Kobe and Jordan have the ability to take the ball up themselves, thats why they get the awards.
In the last 30 years only 3 scoring titles were won by Centers! 2 of those 3 were won by SHAQ!!! The most dominant Center of our era.
Nataars 6 months ago
@Nataars nope if what you say is true then shaq would have won a tittle before they got kobe but that didnt happen not only that shaq got swept by the rockets when he had such a good team in the magic and clear;y he was the main guy like i said he wasnt even close to being a leader/ 2nd ill give you scoring does go through the guard so i guess shaq didnt dominate scoring for that reason/ but what about blocking and rebounding whats the excuse for him never being best in those categorys
5042024 6 months ago
@Nataars you see what im saying he never dominated the league not even close/ to dominate is to be the absolute best without argument, which isnt the case for shaq cuz like i said he never led the league in rebounds there for he couldnt have dominated that category he didnt lead the league in blocks more than once again didnt dominate the blocks the same goes for scoring assists steals he was always behind somebody else SO HOW COULD HE HAVE DOMINATED dont take my word for it, look up its history
5042024 6 months ago
@Nataars even though im a shaq hater i still give him the respect he deserves he will be a 1st time ballot hall of famer and easily top 10 centers of all time but no way did he dominate the NBA not even close in my opinion david robinson and hakeem olajuwon were better than him they had so much more natural talent than him their shooting skills were out of shaqs range/ and in my opinion neither d robinson or hakeem dominated the NBA SO EASILY SHAQ NEVER DOMINATED THE NBA
5042024 6 months ago
You got it backwards man. The lakers won their titles back when Shaq was the MAIN guy. The year Kobe started scoring more is when they started losing. Check the stats!
Kobe is an idiot to take so many shots when Shaqs FG% is over 100 points higher than his. They couldve had more rings than the BUlls if Kobe wasnt so stubborn.
Nataars 6 months ago
@Nataars 1 more thing about kobe he has 5 rings 2 without shaq/ so why even question kobes ability to lead a team to the rings kobe will be 1 of the all time bests too/ if anything it was shaqs inability to compromise his leader staus that destroyed the lakers dynasty just like in orlando the rift between him and penny was what broke that team apart/ and they had a team that coud have won tittles but didnt cuz shaq backstabed orlando and came to the lakers
5042024 6 months ago
@Nataars like i said shaq could have been the most dominant force of his era but that just didnt happen the NBA has a regular season wether he liked it or not and he just never dominated or else his name would be on the trophys that clarify who was the best for that year in which ever category rebs blocks etc/ think about it with his size and strenght he never won a rebounding tittle not once the biggest and strongest player never won a rebounding tittle he was never best at reboungs not once

#2 kobe bryant travelled, lol he does that alot but everyone so busy sayin lebron travelled.
redassasain18 7 months ago
@redassasain18 thats cuz although kobe travels he still has AMAZING footwork. while lebron takes 4 steps for a layup and is just bad at footwork. You know lebron is the ONLY superstar in nba history to suck at shooting, footwork AND freethrows. NBA tried to push him too hard, they wanted him to be the next Jordan. I gotta admit he is the best right now, but thats only because kobe is old and declining very fast. when kobe was 26, he was unstoppable. lebron can be stopped as shown by Dallas
dmitry1337 7 months ago
@dmitry1337 lol.... even though he had a poor performance against dallas, i still think he can't be stopped. i just think that now hes on miami sometimes i late game situations he looks out of the flow of the game and when he IS in it, he seems kind of hesitant to take over. if we were to compar kobe as number 8 to lebron 23, they were equally unstopable, but id choose lebron 23 over kobe 8. cuz any given night lebron 23 could give u 40 10 and 10, kobe 8 could only give u 50 or 60 points..
redassasain18 7 months ago
@dmitry1337 besides even though lebron and his team LOST to dallas, kobe and his team got SWEPT by dallas, and there was NOTHING kobe could do for his team. and id take a full statline any day over just pure scoring, thats what makes lebron a better player than kobe. Lebron unlike kobe has the full package a superstar of there caliber should have passing rebounding blocking scoring high effiecncy rating, i mean not to sound like a dick rider but lebron has it all when kobe only has a few...
redassasain18 7 months ago
@redassasain18 i respect your opinion but when has lebron scored 40-10-10? very very few times that i remember. where as kobe scores 60 points in 3 quarters many times and his team is up by so much that the coach doesn't even need him to play the entire 4th quarter. true lebron has he "statistical package" but kobe has the clutch package and pure scoring. thats what shooting guards are for right? i really think lebron will be better than kobe one day, but it doesn't seem that has happened yet.
dmitry1337 7 months ago
@dmitry1337 lol... great arguement BUT, that day has already come i dont understand why you can't see that.. yea lebrons stats are better than kobe but if you just watch him play, hes a better leader his court vision is insane for a player his size, basically what im sayin is kobe is a one dimensional player, lebron has many different dimensions, and thats what makes him better!
redassasain18 6 months ago
@redassasain18 michael jordan is also a one dimensional player, does that mean lebron is better than him too? so is wilt chamberlain and many others. the difference is even though they are one dimensional, they EXCEL at that one way of playing that they do. also the clutch factor, in hitting the game winning shots is what makes kobe a better player.
dmitry1337 6 months ago
@redassasain18 and lebron is not a better leader lol.. you need to watch the team usa road to redemption videos. they brought in kobe bryant and jason kidd for leadership. if lebron was a leader, they wouldn't have to
dmitry1337 6 months ago
@redassasain18 not to mention kobe is 33 years old, has played 15 seasons in the nba. kobe put up those numbers with an ARTHRITIC knee, and 2 fractured fingers. at his age and with those injuries he still dominates the game. thats why i think kobe is still the best

@liljim10 Really? That's why Priest Lauderdalle dominated the NBA right? At 7'4", 320 pounds, the dude by your logic should have been the best player in the world. But he wasn't. He was out of the league in three seasons. Which further proves my point. You have to have some skill to go with the size, or you won't make it.
bdowden23 7 months ago
In the beginning it was like watching somebody perform "magic" he would play with such fire, such "heat" that all others would envy. In games you thought he was out to only rise up like a mighty phoenix, with the power of 10 "suns". However, if you were to ask shaq, he would ofcourse be "cavalier" about of his actions. Always ready for the next battle, like a "celtic" warrior he carried on. He will be most remembered for his huge size and strength, like that of a "Laker" ship. -Kobe

At the very least, he's in that group.
escobar60099 8 months ago

When shaq was in his moment he was the most dominant force in the nba.
gioDMP 8 months ago
@gioDMP no im taking him out cause he didnt put the efort in like the the other all time greats like you said he was the biggest and strongest player of his time yet didnt lead the league in rebs only led the league in blocks once i think led the league in scoring like once too (dominant means dominating)so how did he dominate yes he is 1 of the all time greats but nowhere near as dominant as shaq fans claim nowhere near wilt or russel they truly dominated and the awards prove it ITS HISTORY NOW
5042024 8 months ago
@5042024 You also have to realize who Wilt played against... Wilt was that much larger than every single person he played against, by many inches, which was the reason that he got what 50 rebounds and 100 points in a single game. Cause he could just out jump everybody while also being like 5+ inches over everybody.

@gioDMP by the way dominating has nothing to do with rings cause those you win as a team without great teamates you cant win a tittle and remember it was till kobe matured to being 1 of the greats too was shaq able to win a tittle fisher horry kobe were HUGE parts of their tittles so rings have nothing to do with our debate here were talking about him being called the most dominant of his time when he wasnt remember d robinson hakeem they have most of the awards that prove they were the league-
5042024 8 months ago

And your right, every superstar has had help to win rings, i only brought it up cuz u claim awards are important.
gioDMP 8 months ago
@gioDMP simple wilt russel might have trouble with him cause they were long and somewhat skinny but as far as hakkem d robinson they were flat out shooters they dont need to dunk to take over a basketball game their speed and outside shooting along with their freethrow shooting ability would with out a doubt beat shaqs dunking ability remember their 7footers who can foul him and send him to the line were again his shooting liability would work against him he wouldnt dominate or did
5042024 8 months ago
@gioDMP your missing the point with the awards/ awards are given to league leaders the person that dominated the league in a category is given the award that proves they were the best in that category so if shaq doesnt have the awards that prove he dominated then how did he dominate HE DIDNT he could have been the all time most dominant but like i said he was just to lazy he didnt put the effort like hakeem d robinson they dominated the 90s their awards prove it unlike shaq
5042024 8 months ago
@5042024 With your explanation that makes shaq dominant, you can only foul the man so many times. He used to pose many nightmares to teams cuz of that. Sure shaq wasnt a shooter but his post play was unmatched. He was agile and strong with incredibly quick feet and under rated passing ability. In his prime he wouldve taken out any center, including the ones you have ahead of him. Yes shaq didnt win those awards, and ill give you that much. But you gotta admit, no one could gaurd him in his prime
gioDMP 8 months ago
